About a century ago, a rupture opened up within Mirrorlight itself, releasing lightning-quick wraiths into the Central Ring and Outer Wall. These wraiths were shaped vaguely like rabbits, and so the rupture itself was named after a popular book with an ever-late rabbit as a character. It has since been rendered dormant, and is surrounded by frequently refreshed restabilizer lamps and a military guard. Occasionally, academic organizations will get permission to run tests on it.
