THE JOURNEY
- His full name is actually Heath Jean-Claude Ambroise, the only child of a dress maker and a journalist. His mother the tailor and father the journalist respectively. He was born in Eclipse Town which provided a close knit community he came to love. Unfortunately it also gave him a limited selection of children to befriend. With limited options, he befriended a young girl just as cheeky and excitable as him. While they started off on the wrong foot. Heath's temper flared almost immediately and the pair got into a physical fight which eventually made way for a truce.
- Over the years with this girl Heath's energy as well as anger problems seemed to vanish. The truth was being around his friend while fun, was also draining. She delighted in angering him and keeping him high strung at all times. As a defense mechanism Heath mellowed out. He began suppressing his emotions and learned how to have patience. He very quickly understood how his temper tantrums neither scared off his annoying companion, nor fixed the issue at hand.
- As he grew older, applied to get a higher education at Lux University. Heath left his hometown to study and occasionally visited during holidays. He loved living in a large city, but every so often would is the silence of a small town life. School life was fun but then came the real stress of being a full fledged adult. Unwilling to leave Sundial and go back home, he saved up money from different part time jobs during senior year and made enough to rent out a sleazy apartment down in the Hovel. He would receive money from his parents so often but it only bothered him more that they were still taking care of him. He felt more like an extra expense. With this in mind, Heath worked himself to the bone and barely slept. On top of his job as an assistant journalist he worked anything that could make him money. The stress of trying to make a living without help only worsened his insomnia at the time.
- Eventually, his multiple jobs and tendency to stay out at night led him to an even less stable, but far more lucrative job. Heath got into the business of providing shady potions and herbal remedies. He was a delivery boy at first, and only really transported the items. Soon enough with the promise of more and more money, Heath succumbed to learning how to create the weird substances as well. With his affinity for plantshaping he could find and provide items that would have more potent effects, raising the value of their goods. At the moment, he's merely an assistant tasked with gathering ingredients on top of organizing the movement of product towards their clients. It's not the smartest career decision but at the time he was desperate for cash and it was hard to deny it. With the side hustle, he immediately moved out of the Hovel and into the Residential area. Nothing too extravagant. The place was almost as small as his old home. It was a little bigger, cleaner, and lacked the additional pests at least. He was fine with that. It was already a big enough risk to work with these people. He wasn't going to get stupid for a few extra square feet. Fortunately, the change in scenery improved his lifestyle dramatically. Still an insomniac, but he was starting to get rest more often than not. His writing certainly improved and under the watchful eyes of his mentors it flourished.
- Once Heath graduated, he set out to follow in his father's footsteps and applied for a position in one of Sundial's local newspapers. While Heath originally opted for investigative journalism, with his initial inexperience he was instead put down as an assistant to one of the paper's actual reporters. And not investigative: sports. The blonde had to learn a lot very quickly, sports jargon on top of the nuances of his new job. After a couple of years he was transferred away from sports and to something closer to his original desire of being an investigative reporter. Now 25, he has finally begun getting real assignments and jobs to study and write about on his own and he could not be happier.
- Heath currently lives his life trying not to think too hard on his life's choices. He's eagerly counting the days when he can work a more honest living, full time. At the moment, he's dependant on the extra income to afford his house and groceries. He lives alone in a quiet apartment near the Jester's Den.
the sights
- Not antisocial, but definitely introverted. He needs to isolate himself to be able to relax.
- Dabbles in watercolors, but his artistic specialty is pencil sketching. He's good at quick 2 minute sketches of people that walk by, and will often draw things he finds amusing out of boredom.
- Doesn't have a huge sweet tooth, but can appreciate subtle sweets like pound cake or lemon tarts.
- favorite time of year is the in between summer and fall because it's not too hot or cold.
- LIVES for sauteed mushrooms & the smell of mint or cilantro
- Unfortunately, has been struggling with insomnia since his teen years.
- Exercises frequently to make up for his tendency to stay at home all the time. He's mostly a runner and can be spotted out at night trying to tire himself out enough to fall asleep.
