Roughly the size of a quarter Kenneth's familiar, tenebris sycophantam, or as he has taken to calling it; Shade, is a pretty small thing. Thus it often manifests itself into the physical word directly onto Kenneth's body somewhere, just so it doesn't get stepped on by someone on accident. Though despite its small size the familiar packs as much magical energy as any other familiar, its just smaller and cuter. In a bit of a contrast to how small it is height and length wise the familiar is actually kinda chubby, leading it to look a bit more like a caterpillar or something then the reptile it actually is.[break][break]
When it comes down to appearance Shade seems to be pretty bland, it doesn't have a bunch of fancy markings or anything like that. Fitting of the name that Kenneth called it the familiar is a pitch black color, although if one managed to get close enough they would be able to see that the tiny creature has a tiny helmet on its head. The helmet that leaves eye holes open to help the little guy see is a plain dark grey color.[break][break]
Compared to his partner Shade isn't really that bad of a "person". Instead of just being a complete evil asshole like Kenneth, Shade is more of just a mischievous little thing. Often encouraging Kenneth to engage in not so nice behavior but steering him towards more benevolent non-violent ways to accomplish whatever it is that he's trying to do.[break][break]

[attr="class","stafftempitem"]General: Winguardium Leviosa This scroll allows the user to force anything into flight, provided it isn’t extremely heavy. It sometimes malfunctions against living beings, but it is easy to counter-spell in case things get out of hand. |

[attr="class","stafftempitem"]CASTER’S SCROLLS, VOLUME 1: SCROLL 1 This scrollbook is so old that a lot of its pages are missing. It focuses on summoning non-living things, or evoking the forces of nature. By designating a target spot on the ground, the witch can summon a bolt of magical lightning. It can only work when in an open space, and the target location flashes brightly a few seconds prior to the strike. As with all summoning, it uses up the mana of the witch and can be particularly exhausting for beginners. |
[attr="class","stafftempitem"]SUMMONER’S SCROLLBOOK: HOMOCAST Homocast is the ability to summon the witch’s familiar’s base form. If the familiar was a gigantic goldfish, for example, this scroll would be able to summon an ordinary goldfish - except, of course, the summon would have magical properties. The summoned animal would be able to completely understand and be mostly under the control of the witch, and be able to move large distances and carry out different tasks. The duration of the summon depends on the skill of the witch, with fledglings barely managing more than a couple seconds. |

Though it seems like a simple keepsake, this item will serve as your character’s lifeline in the face of imminent peril. When the bearer’s mana reaches critical levels, all items made similarly will begin to glow as a mass signal is sent to witches of your coven, allowing them to come to your aid should anything happen. May be used once to escape death. |
