this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.

-----basics----- name: operation quetzalcoatl participants: heck yeah the more the better (ALSO THERE'S PARTS FOR NON-STs TOO) threads: a heck of a lot sponsor: coven silvertongue objective: to restore silvertongue's reputation and to remind the world how powerful a force it is danger level: varying difficulties moderation: should be fairly self-sufficient? except maybe part 4. though i'm hella up for any npc interactions you want to toss my way.
overall points to raid completion: 0/400
---details--- ic description: through the recent events that have transpired - the assassination of the mayor's wife at gale valley in particular - heavy suspicion has been cast upon the silvertongue coven. dmitri wisbane's speech at the silverwing gala seems not to have allayed the paranoid fear that has gripped sundial in regards to the coven, and the public is very close to completely turning on and vilifying them. thus, a call has been put out to all silvertongue witches to counter this threat, restore their reputation, and remind the world of the powerful force silvertongue is.
ooc description: this raid will consist of a series of missions and social threads to restore silvertongue's reputation among the civilians, the other covens, and silvertongue's enemies alike. each completed thread will add a certain number of progress points towards the overall raid's progression, so that it is reliant on member participation.
there are four parts to this raid, each one different in expected difficulty and requirements, and each with its own progress bar to be filled. though the events of each part may effect the other parts, parts 1, 2, and 3 can be undertaken and worked on simultaneously, while part 4 takes will be the last phase to be undertaken. all four phases bars must be filled for the raid to be completed.
part 1a: managing civilian relations and perceptions
this part is centred around rebuilding silvertongue's reputation among civilians as a coven who, though quirky and undeniably strong, have been unfairly slandered and maligned by the media. the aim of part 1 is for the public to see and to support the individuals of silvertongue, breaking down the mass hysteria and paranoid fear currently gripping sundial in regards to the coven - while their 'rogue' status is quite desired, the situation right now is dangerously close to a complete vilification of silvertongue.
consisting of social threads and lower-level missions, part 1a threads should contain favourable civilian interactions or take place in the public domain, should be mostly legal or perceived to be helping the 'right' side, should not contain 'undue violence' against 'innocents', and onlookers should be made aware of the witches' silvertongue affiliations (either through overt or covert means). threads may include witches from other covens, though silvertongue interactions and actions should come first and foremost. lower ranked witches are encouraged to participate in part 1a.
part 1b: building reputation among other covens
this part is centred around building silvertongue's reputation among members of other covens. the general perception should be that silvertongue witches are both powerful and competent and should not be messed with, but either have enough of a 'code of conduct and integrity' that they would hardly assassinate the mayor's wife at such an event, or are practical and logical enough that they know they'd have nothing to gain from assassinating her (pointing out that in fact silvertongue as a whole was disadvantaged by it really, honestly, can't you see past this sloppy framing?), or are disdainful and critical of the assassin's technique - depending on what would appeal to the other coven in question.
consisting of social threads and missions, part 1b threads should contain favourable interactions with other covens with the other being made aware of the witches' silvertongue affiliations. witches are also encouraged to 'show off' their power, skill, and/or competency - subtly.
each completed thread will add 15 points to part 1's progress bar with an additional 5 points added for each extra page beyond the first one. unfinished threads can be submitted for judging as to whether or not they merit added progress; threads that are judged to be unfavourable for silvertongue's reputation can result in progress points being deducted.
progress points to part 1 completion: 0/100
part 2: an overwhelming display of power and force
this part is centred around building up the general reputation of the silvertongue coven as one of power and skill, striking fear into the heart of their enemies and awe into the general populace. undertaken by silvertongue witches only, part 2 threads should be high-level missions (novice or above) containing substantial amounts of firepower (metaphorical and/or literal); the missions should be ones that are seen by civilians to 'do justice' or 'good' (better yet if it is 'justice' that rival covens *cough HK cough* or law enforcement have ignored/struggled to do/are seen as being biased against what is 'right').
note: although missions must be novice or above, exceptions can be made for large group missions with a novice or acolyte leading.
each completed thread will add 20 points to part 2's progress bar with an additional 10 points added for each extra page beyond the first one. unfinished threads can be submitted for judging as to whether or not they merit added progress; threads that are judged to be unfavourable for silvertongue's reputation can result in progress points being deducted.
progress points to part 3 completion: 0/100
part 3: media management and coverage
this part is centred around managing the media coverage of the silvertongue coven. silvertongue witches are encouraged to blackmail, threaten, bribe, coerce, persuade, or otherwise convince media outlets to stop in the vilification of their coven and portray silvertongue in a better light. witches should aim to play up silvertongue's 'criminal code' as well as nudging journalists towards the 'scandal' that is the 'dreadful' misrepresentation and framing going on, honestly what logical person would think that silvertongue assassinated the major's wife, can't you see past the amateur and radical gossip masquerading as journalism? can't you see how silvertongue has been disadvantaged and framed? and while we're on silvertongue, take a look at the vigilantism they've been doing where law enforcement and other covens have been twiddling their thumbs...
part 3 threads can be either social or mission, with the majority of threads undertaken by silvertongue witches only - exceptions being if another coven's witch is involved in journalistic work or similar such a career. witches of all ranks are encouraged to participate in part 3. though the five parts of this raid are mostly separate, the events of the parts 1 and 2 may impact the events of part 3.
each completed thread will add 20 points to part 5's progress bar with an additional 10 points added for each page. unfinished threads can be submitted for judging as to whether or not they merit added progress; threads that are judged to be unfavourable for silvertongue's reputation can result in progress points being deducted.
progress points to part 3 completion: 0/100
part 4: information gathering and reconnaissance
this part is centred around gathering information about the actual identity of the assassin and their motives, if there is anyone behind the framing of silvertongue, as well as any other potential threats to the coven in general. consisting of a series of missions (and maybe socials-turned-reconnaissance), part 4 threads should be undertaken by silvertongue witches only, and should NOT be overt but rather stealthy and preferably be unable to be linked back to the coven. higher ranked witches or witches specialising in reconnaissance are advised to take part in part 4 - fledglings and apprentices are NOT TO ENGAGE should they encounter a threat unless accompanied by a novice or above.
in the unlikely event that the assassination is connected to the coven, destroy the evidence and/or plant evidence hinting to outside involvement.
each completed thread will add 15 points to part 4's progress bar with an additional 5 points added for each page. unfinished threads can be submitted for judging as to whether or not they merit added progress; threads that are judged to be unfavourable for silvertongue's reputation can result in progress points being deducted.
