Murdoch or 'Doc,' as he is more commonly known, is essentially what would happen if you took the embittered soul of a 160-year-old geezer and encased it into the minuscule body of a three-inch spiky reptilian. In reality, he has a colossal frame stretching 30 feet long but for efficiency's sake and utter laziness, often assumes his miniature form. [break]
[break]
Prickly in nature with thorns to match, his most recognizable characteristics are his horns and the streaks of pale green and ochre red which line his back (ref.) Unlike Sel who may restrain herself if the situation requires, Doc has no qualms at letting out an array of witty, verbose insults taking pride in his cynicism and skepticism. In fact, he enjoys the sound of himself so much that he rarely talks to his witch using telepathy. Stubborn and independent, he is also a firm believer of equal familiar rights. That is, familiars should do whatever they please and witches be damned. Like any good familiar, he is often the catalyst of many troubles Sel may face and could generally be seen ambling away with slow and firm steps to wreak havoc despite what his witch may desire. [break]
[break]
Despite his perceived lack of care, Doc like any familiar truly cares for his witch. After having seen her lived through the years of misery and pain, he is fiercely protective of Sel and tends to situate himself on top of her head to prevent any harm. When need be, he also provides a supportive force lending a critical eye to anything Sel cooks while also acting as her moral compass. However he still proritises his witch's health and would often admonish her when he believes she is damadging her health. [break]

[attr="class","stafftempitem"]Technique: Warmth Another simple creation; the witch can warm the the general area. With training, the witch can increase the parameters and strength of the technique. A fledging may only warm the room or their hands, but very strong witches may be able to warm whole buildings and towns if they so wanted to. |
[attr="class","stafftempitem"]Technique: Close Quarters This enables the witch to instantly create a ring of fire having a smallish radius with them at the center. They can use this to trap enemies or ward them away, but the size of the circle and the intensity and height of the flames depends on the skill of the witch. |

[attr="class","stafftempitem"]General: Witch's Intuition The user must close their eyes to activate this, and it requires a full five seconds of concentration before all magical presences in the area are revealed. The more powerful the presence, the easier it is to sense. It also enables the witch to sense nearby monsters and magical objects. May not work on witches using a CLOAKING SCROLL. |

[attr="class","stafftempitem"]Golden Bell A small, golden bell that appears to have been taken from a fool’s cap. This object was given upon being accepted into Jester's Den. Though it seems like a simple keepsake, this item will serve as your character’s lifeline in the face of imminent peril. When the bearer’s mana reaches critical levels, all items made similarly will begin to glow as a mass signal is sent to witches of your coven, allowing them to come to your aid should anything happen. May be used once to escape death. |
