a snarky, wisecracking, pun-loving familiar, verum quaero and iolani are a perfect duo of mischief and chaos. the crow goes by two different nicknames - huginn and muninn - thought and memory - and switches between them whenever the mood strikes; that it confuses others is an added bonus. there is somewhat of a pattern though: as huginn, ne tends to be more loquacious, arguing with iolani over petty things that neither really care about, sarcastically commenting on others' mistakes, telling jokes to anyone that will listen, and just generally being a nuisance; as muninn, ne tends to be quieter, stealthier, but also nicer. either way, huginn/muninn is nosy as ne is curious, and loves to sneak around and gather gossip, information, blackmail, etc. ne also quite likes trinkets and shiny things, and will sometimes manifest with a small crown on nir head.[break][break]
possessing a true form more than large enough for two adults to ride upon comfortably, huginn/muninn is more often than not reduced to the size of a typical crow, sleek and slim with intelligent dark eyes that take in everything around nem. nir feathers seem almost as if they were made of the shadows themselves, varying shades of black layered on top of one another for an indistinct, almost smokey effect. if ne wants to, however, ne can reduce this effect till nir feathers regain distinction and seem a more natural blue-tinted black. Provided they are under a cover of shadows and staying relatively still, the witch can be practically invisible to the naked eye if they so choose. They can probably get away with running a bit, but they ought to be careful of the light, and users of NIGHT VISION, WITCH’S INTUITION, etc.

So much time in the dark has lent the witch excellent night vision, making their eyes adapt easily to dark environments. Darkness magically created by high-levelled witches can sometimes still be hard to see through.

SHADOW SPIDER SWARM
Technique - Darkness
The user creates a swarm of small shadow spiders which home in on a target and latch themselves onto them en masse. Not only do the spiders impede movement and potentially vision also, the feeling of thousands of spiders crawling on one's skin has been described as 'rather unnerving' at best. The amount of spiders able to be created, and the range with which they can track a target, depends on the skill and experience of the witch - fledgling witches often find their spiders dissipating or losing focus after about a meter's radius, whereas masters of this technique have been said to create multiple swarms of spiders that target multiple witches over a truly terrifying distance.

SHADOW TENDRILS
Technique - Darkness
This technique allows the witch to split their shadow into tendrils that can act like tentacles to wrap around things and bring them to or away from the witch. The number of tendrils created and are able to be independently manipulated depends on the skill of the witch as well as the amount of shadows present. Experienced witches may even be able to use their tentacles to bat away projectiles launched at them, though how effective such a defence may be depends on the force of the projectiles and the skill of the witch.

BLINKING SCROLLADV
Scroll - General
The first entry in a scroll on how to vanish, taken from a light grimoire written by one of the oldest and most renowned witches, Lunella Lacehart. A witch that possess its knowledge will vanish in a burst of oddly colored smoke, only to quickly reappear within a small radius from where the spell was used, barring areas the witch can’t see (i.e beyond walls). It uses up the mana of the witch instead of altering mana.

SCROLL OF THE SWITCH
Scroll - General
A very simple scroll that almost every witch possesses the knowledge of. It allows the witch and the familiar to switch places at any time or distance from each other. However, sudden switches can leave an inexperienced witch feeling dizzy or disoriented.

TELEKINESIS
Scroll - General
The witch can move around objects at their leisure- it’s not intended for offensive use as it’s difficult to make the objects go at high speeds. It’s also mentally exhausting for beginner witches as it requires quite a bit of focus to maintain. It’s generally used to lift objects off the ground or subtly in sleight of hand.

A very simple analysis spell that allows for the instant scrambling of a message, though the caster must input the details of the cipher they want to use themselves. Alternatively, the caster can decipher a coded message as long as they are able to input the cipher required to do so.

MEMORY REWRITE
Scroll - Atheneum
This spell can slightly alter a person's memory, causing them to misremember details about a person, event, process, etc. It cannot cause them to entirely forget something, nor construct entirely new memories. Especially skilled casters can subtly use this on crowds of people all at once.

OBSERVATORY VOL 1: SCROLL #1
Scroll - Atheneum
A tome dedicated to a set of obtainment spells that constantly scans the distribution of mana in a specific area and feeds these reports into the interface to create a live broadcast of said area, often in the form of a moving diagram or other visual images. This allows the caster to observe an area and the movements in it from afar. The distance each spell can cover and the clarity of the broadcast produced is dependent on the affinity level of the user.

An analysis spell that checks to see if the current area has been altered mana. Such magic such as illusions and transfigurations can be detected. However, if the caster is lower ranked, they may not be skilled enough to detect the change.

A more practical take on the ancient Observatory scrolls, this enables an athenian to create a portable and controllable fragment of their interface and use it to collect observational data. The created “drone” is able to relay information to the caster, but its distance capacity and the clarity of images depend on the caster’s skill.

Wi-STOR is the most widely circulated database specifically made for athenians. This particular edition of Wi-STOR has a comprehensive listing of wraiths in their most common forms, generally with a list of weaknesses and strengths as well as other crucial details. It is sure to make combat against them easier.

WI-STOR #4: MAGIC
Scroll - Atheneum
The largest database of scrolls, at your disposal. Using this scroll enables the user to access thousands of possible techniques and skills and use any ONE. The technique may or may not be the perfect one for the job, and it may or may not be successful depending on the athenian’s magical capacity. More experienced athenians will be able to pick more well-suited scrolls from the database, and will be more likely to be successful in their attempt. Once used, will act as a random scroll the witch is able to use (but does not have).

COVEN TRINKET - LEVIATHAN FLEDGLING
A simple, blank ring whose inside reads Si vis pacem, para bellum. This object was given upon being accepted into Coven Leviathan. Though it seems like a simple keepsake, this item will serve as your character’s lifeline in the face of imminent peril. When the bearer’s mana reaches critical levels, all items made similarly will begin to glow as a mass signal is sent to witches of your coven, allowing them to come to your aid should anything happen. May be used once to escape death.
