within the walls of sundial, kiska appears to be a small, slender snake no longer than 20 centimetres, pretty and delicate-looking as she coils around kaelin's wrist looking almost akin to a decorative bracelet of silver. her scales are elongated and heavily keeled, giving her a spiky appearance; they appear to be made of crystalline ice, glacial blue fading to a glittering white at the tips, an iridescent shimmer running down her body as the light refracts off her scales. 'astrarchē' she is called, queen of the stars - kaelin runs a finger down her spine and tells her that her eyes reflect the deepest chasmic night sky.[break][break]
those that underestimate kiska should beware, however, for her true size is nothing less than fifty feet - outside the constraints of city walls, she towers over all and sundry with lethal fangs and a jaw large enough to swallow a person whole. beautiful as the first frost and deadly as a raging blizzard, kaelin loves her familiar no matter what her size. ( she is hardly harmless either way - even a single bite in her smallest form can lead to severe hemorrhaging of internal organs or death if left untreated ).[break][break]
despite her size and lethality, kiska is a gentle, kind being whose compassionate nature provides a perfect foil for kaelin's sometimes single-minded focus. she is a highly curious individual, delighting in the acquisition of new knowledge and possessing a similar love for the aesthetic. while normally calm, graceful, polite, and serene, a long fuse does not equate to a non-existent one; push her too far and the frigid wrath that results calls to mind the raging heart of a blizzard.
