McKenna, as Aiden calls her publicly, is slender framed gazelle that stands around three feet tall. Aiden has long since outgrown her in stature, something he occasionally teases her about. She has long, white horns about fifteen inches long that protrude from her head. Her coat is a pale grey overall with flecks of white along her spine. The underside of her tail and her chest and parts of her stomach are also white. Despite her light coloring she is excellent an maintaining a clean appearance, though Aiden isn't really sure how. He suspects it has to do with how often she jumps between planes of existence.

She has big eyes that are clouded over an white. One can't really tell if she's looking at them or something in the distance, though she cocks her head in the direction of people's voices to be polite. She isn't blind, she assures, she just looks that way. Her nose is pale grey as well but in stark contrast to everything else are these thick, precise black eyeliner strokes that end in a thin wing. Whenever McKenna treads a light fog follows. She literally emits a mist thickest around her hooves, and antlers. Her puffball of a tail frays at the very end into literal mist. When she's angry or upset McKenna has a habit of overproducing mist though its no fault of her own. It isn't substantially impairing to visibility but for lack of better description, she appears to others as a dry ice statue that is constantly emitting fog.

Aiden was smaller than her when she first appeared to him. She had been waiting for a night when the fog rolled in low across the city of Sundial. Silently, without a sound she had crept out of the mists and gently nuzzled into the crook of the child's neck. The touch, although soft startled Aiden and the visage of his familiar struck him as ghostly. Dead even. Tears welled up and he instictually ran. McKenna was not one to be bested though and swiftly went after him. She even outran him, and cut him off at every turn until cornering him. She spoke directly with him at first, attempting to calm him which was an easy enough task for her. Though her words were almost cryptic, the kinship between them was easily felt. She told her her name was Silvana, but he was allowed to choose what he would call her.

Since then McKenna's speech patterns have remained short, with cryptic responses. Though part of Aiden thinks she just does this to mess with people. She has an easy enough time speaking longer sentences, though it takes her some time to put them together. She's careful with her words and has far more tact than Aiden ever could. She is careful and will quietly lead her witch onto the safest course of action. She doesn't nag but merely does things without saying anything to help Aiden. As with all things, her fury is silent. The faint darkening of the clouds in her eyes and the mist from her body are one of the only tells that she's upset. Aiden has only even once seen her furious, and winds whipped around briefly while in the distance he swore thunder boomed. But that could as well have been a dream.

McKenna typically doesn't get physical, relying on the elements to keep enemies at bay. Unlike Aiden, she prefers not to get her hands dirty but isn't above headbutting any thread that gets too close to her witch. She's prone to fleeing into the other plane to avoid fights, however.

In times of celebration, McKenna will appear to Aiden with a periwinkle colored satin bow around her neck or around her antlers. She seems to be incredibly fond of the color and Aiden strives to purchase things for time to time that match it. McKenna, while quiet in her excitement, at times circles him too fast for him to follow when he wears that specific color. Despite the occasional mocking of how mute McKenna can be, around Christmas time she adorns herself with an harness covered in polished silver bells and happily jingles all over their coven.

TECHNIQUE - AIR
The user creates a pair of windy 'wings' that extend from their back and can be used for both defense and offense. The wings can help to redirect or stop projectiles aimed at the user - the extent of which it is effective is dependent on the skill and experience of the witch - while they can also be streamlined to boost speed. Fledgling witches would find it difficult to shape and maintain the shape of the wings, much less manipulate them, but experienced witches are said to be a sight to behold on the battlefield.

Hover
TECHNIQUE - AIR
The witch can lift the air beneath them, letting them hover for a certain amount of time. While it achieves a flight-like state, it takes a considerable amount of strength to keep a witch’s body weight with pure air. the more skilled the witch, the longer they can hold the hover.

CONCUSSION WAVE
TECHNIQUE - AIR
This creates a powerful, outward moving air current in a circle centered on the witch. While beginners may not be able to do much, this grows with the witch, and advanced users have been noted to possess great concussive force, blowing away anything within its radius. A broad and sweeping technique that cares little for accuracy, it is often performed after landing on the ground from above, and a favourite among those who have a flair for the dramatic.

air elementalists have long been renowned for their speed and mobility, and the windsurfer technique proves exactly why. the witch is able to solidify a thin platform of air beneath them to stand on, hovering a few inches off the ground. this can be propelled forward through their manipulation. beginner witches may have difficulty maintaining this for longer than a few seconds, whereas more advanced users may be capable of using this to travel swiftly and with ease. some witches may prefer it to take a different shape, with the most common alternative being that of a spinning sphere.

Invisible Air
TECHNIQUE - AIR
Allows the user to create wildly swirling air around an object. The shifting currents refract light around the object, creating a sort of invisibility cloak around it. The effect of the spell just looks like gently swirling air mana where the object should be. It is surprisingly strong, and only something solid like metal can disrupt the barrier; upon contact with the shifting air, more fragile objects will be cut or torn. This spell is often used by knights to obscure traps, weapons, or supplies from bandits.

Technique - Air
Normal humans can hold their breath for less than five minutes, but this ability allows air witches to hold their breath for significantly longer. At fledgling rank, they can hold their breath for twice as long as the average witch, and this duration improves with skill. Additionally, it also grants a resistance to air born toxins and illness.

The witch can summon a sudden gale in a particular direction. Expert witches can make enemies fly off into the distance, whereas such feats may be difficult for beginners.

This teqhnique causes the air in an area to become thin, making it more difficult to take full breaths. Inexperienced witches will likely only be able to influence a small area, and often succumb to the effects of this spell themselves. As they become more experienced, their range of influence, precision of effect, and severity of the air loss all increase.

Rather than creating simple orbs to blast wind at the enemy, a witch can choose to turn air into a thin slice to cut apart the enemy or simple contraptions. The length and strength of the slice is up to the skill of the witch, meaning a fledgling might not be able to do much but cut ropes or inflict small bruises…

SHATTER

The witch uses mana to vibrate the air rapidly, creating a screeching sound that is capable of shattering glass and disorienting everyone within earshot. Reinforced glass is usually immune depending on the levels of the witches involved. Eluvian Mirrors, however, often fall victim to this.

A spurned lover channeled their love into the thread used to create a final gift. After all, the object of their affection could never escape their loving grasp. The Strangle Scarf is used to demonstrate to weavers why they need to be careful in what they create, no matter how practiced they are. The idea is simple: take the idea of a clingy piece of fabric or a magically snug piece of clothing and remove all the safeguards on the item so that it continues to constrict. Depending on the durability of the scarf, the target could cut the scarf off with ease, or have to take more drastic measures.

The most obvious weakness for a weaver is how the destruction of the thread can cause the entire item to unravel. Taking inspiration from natural world, this translucent to white thread is an attempt to safeguard against unfortunate accidents. By combining multiple mana infused threads together, the weaver creates a thread with the sole purpose of protecting other magic threads, making them harder to break by magical or mundane means.

TRANSPORTATION SCROLL, ZIPPEROO
SCROLL - WEAVING
This scroll doesn't seem to be part of a collection and instead stands on its own. The creator of the scrollbook is known as Meave Glottal, chief of a mining company a long time ago. She found problems with getting the miners too and from underground quickly and so, made this scroll. A spell that must be used twice in order to gain its desired effect. One spell will be cast in a location such as the entrance to a house, while the other is cast on an object, often something that can be worn or draped around oneself. When someone wears said object, their bodies will be compressed into a raw magical form and will be quickly sent flying to the location that was marked. Beginning witches can only create objects that travel a single person to a location that's within a 30 feet radius, while a more experienced witch can enchant something to transport multiple people to a distance within a 100 feet radius.

RESTORATIVE THREAD: CLOTHES FOR CONTACT HEALING
SCROLL - WEAVING SYN Can synthesize as LIMITED USE or REUSABLE items
As the name suggests, this particular thread holds the power of healing within its delicate spool. The weaver can spin this thread into an object to be worn, helping to heal the wearer of diseases, moderate injuries, and ailments through skin contact. The effectiveness will rely on the capabilities of the weaver and their mana storage. The intent of the weaver is also crucial at this point as it is assumed that such items may be gifted or sold. The more intent there is to heal within the item (coinciding with the weaver's power), the more efficient. And naturally, vice versa.

This sturdy circlet decorated by a geometric web of string is able to ward off most types of magical mental intrusion. They are most often hung at the headboard of a bed to protect the sleeper against dream invasions, but can also be secured to a bag or other item to protect the wearer. Especially powerful spells may still be able to force their way through.

Draws mana of particular elements to perform various tasks, such as creating oven mitts you can't accidentally burn yourself while using simply because it slipped off slightly. There are offensive uses like making a fireball more explosive, but generally this kind of thread is used to protect.

Scroll - Weaving
This grimoire was written by the legendary weaver, Beaurox Jade. It deals entirely with weaving intangible components of the world together such as emotion, knowledge, fate, etc. Its contents are practically incomprehensible for beginner weavers. The first scroll deals with weaving emotion - by weaving the threads of emotion together, a weaver is allowed to create something which radiates and often creates a certain kind of mental expression in others.

A series of scrolls which most weavers learn prior to attempting the more advanced "Intangible" series, the Red String teaches weavers how to move intangible concepts through a physical thread. By tying each end of a string to two different living creatures, the emotions of these creatures will then flow freely between each other for as long as the link of the thread remains intact.

Unlike the 'Clear Sight' volumes, this spell does not help in identifying the affinity used, though could aid in coming to a conclusion.

Scroll - Purification SYN Can synthesize as PERMANENT (Purification ONLY) items
Allows the witch to sense the presence of mana manipulation in a small area. The witch is able to differentiate the signatures of the witches casting such as that items enchanted by the same witch will appear similar in some way such as color or design. Unfortunately related witches will often have similar mana signatures so newbie purifiers will have trouble telling the difference between them.

Scroll - Purification
Instead of reverting mana flow back into its natural state, a purifier is able to give it a nudge in another direction should purification prove too arduous a task, or simply as a temporary measure. While fledglings are unlikely to do more than alter the flow of mana through an enchanted object for a few seconds at most, more advanced users are able to withstand the continual strain of redirecting mana for a more significant period of time, channeling it into an easier path for them to decipher and purify.

The caster redirects the flow of mana from two different spells such that they collide into each other, usually to explosive effects. Higher leveled spells, and spells cast by strong witches, are more difficult to manipulate.

A spell that purifies the air from magic; those who enter a certain area will find that it is hard to use mana effectively unless they are a high ranked witch. Fledglings will find that they can only affect a small area and the effects won't be as strong.

This scroll allows the witch to temporarily negate the magical property of an artifact or item, though the duration and effectiveness of the negation depends on the strength of the caster and the strength of the magical property. When used by powerful witches on weaker artifacts, this spell has been known to permanently destroy the item in question.

This scroll details how to start training your eye to pick out and fully identify the results of mana manipulation, starting with alchemy. As this can also be done with basic alchemy training, it is a good starting point for those doing purifier training, since they can compare what they 'see' with either their own or another witch's alchemy training.

Useful for removing long-lasting hexes and jinxes, this scroll allows the witch to reverse the effects of one mana-induced effect from the target ( i.e. the ability to breathe water as granted by a water-breathing potion, or being jinxed with ill-timed hiccups ). It requires knowledge of the spell, and attempting to purify such an effect without such often leads to disastrous side effects.

Affinity Scroll - Purification
This scroll aims at purifying the effects of any spell aimed to injure - its use causes wounds (physical or otherwise) inflicted by spell damage to reverse, though the effectiveness of this depends on how soon after the injuring spell hit that this spell was attempted. The sooner this spell is cast, the more effective; the more serious the wounds, the more mana needed. Knowledge of the spells being purified is not required, but is highly recommended for maximum effectiveness.

UPON PURIFIED GROUNDS (MAS)
SCROLL - PURIFICATION
This scroll allows the witch to create a radius around themselves - marked by a softly luminous glow on the affected ground - where the caster is in control of the mana manipulation within the circle. The caster can choose to strengthen spells, disallow casting completely, or (for the experienced master) even selectively apply rules to effect certain people or affinities. Maintaining the circle requires mental focus, as does enforcing any rules that require specificity or emphatic attention, but one who has mastered this scroll can change the course of a battle. There is nothing preventing those caught inside the circle from leaving, however, and the spell can be disrupted when the caster is adequately distracted or forced to leave the circle themselves. The radius of the spell is dependent on the strength of the caster, and can also be manipulated by an experienced purifier.

These lamps, easily identified by the long, orange-liquid filled glowing cylinders at their top, are objects designed specifically for rupture stabilization. The purifying properties of these lamps only effect its surroundings when met by a point of extreme mana instability, only attainable by a rupture. Though inexperienced witches may be able to create lamps which are effective against older, more stable ruptures, only an experienced witch's RSM-lamps will have any effect against a freshly formed rupture.

This scroll is especially effective at cleansing a target of any spells which are influencing their mind and emotions. Any particularly extreme emotions experienced by the target are mitigated to more manageable levels. Advanced casters may be able to cast this on multiple targets at once.

Scroll - Purification
This scroll allows the caster to ‘purify’ their own or another's emotions - in other words, to momentarily bring down heightened emotions such as rage or panic to a more neutral state. This works best on a single target, though masters have been known to use it very effectively against rioting crowds. The effectiveness and duration of this spell is dependent on the caster’s skill, the number of people targeted, and the strength of the emotions they feel.

Knight's Crest
COVEN CREST - HELIOS KNIGHT FLEDGELING (USED)
A shining crest that bears the symbol of the Helios Knights. This object was given upon being accepted into the Helios Knights. Though it seems like a simple keepsake, this item will serve as your character’s lifeline in the face of imminent peril. When the bearer’s mana reaches critical levels, all items made similarly will begin to glow as a mass signal is sent to witches of your coven, allowing them to come to your aid should anything happen. May be used once to escape death.

HERO'S CREST
COVEN CREST - HELIOS KNIGHT ADEPT
A crest certifying that this character is a recognized and approved adept of the Helios Knights. These are granted to newly promoted Knights during special ranking ceremonies. An individual with this crest has the right to office(s) in the Helios Knights' Hall. They are also granted special access to exclusive training grounds and armories in the Hall.

SHEARS OF FORTUNE
REUSABLE - HEIRLOOM WAND
Newly polished, golden shears with the image of a stork imprinted into the metal. Rosario Cunningham has stated that it was given to her by her aunt when she took up the craft of weaving. They seem to work easily with the thinnest of silks to the thickest of wools. When held they seem to offer a sense of calm to the holder. Their origin is a mystery but only weavers have wielded them. Said to bring inspiration and good luck to the witch that holds it. A powerful weaver will be able to utter the incantation ‘faustus fortunato’ to transform the shears into a heavy sword that glints with a golden hilt. The sword will shrink back to shears at will of the user. Comes with its own case for easy storage. The ends never seem to have needed sharpening.

SILVERLEAF ALL-STYLE CLOAK

This full-length, midnight-black cloak with silver trim is a sleek and fashionable accessory, and has an added magical property thanks to the late fashion icon and weaver Gloria Silverleaf. At the will of the wearer, the cloak can change its cut, color and style, effectively allowing it to become any kind of fabric-based outfit with minor metal components. Close friends of the icon said she wanted to help budding designers experiment with their ideas. However, there's nothing stopping people from using this cloak to copy official uniforms or make a quick outfit change for undercover work.

BARRIER RING

This silver ring with a milky-blue centerpiece creates a magical barrier around its wearer when they are in physical danger. The wearer's entire body is protected from physical blows and magical spells alike, though it only lasts for a few seconds. When the ring's effect wears off, it will immediately begin recharging, and can activate again after a few hours. (Protects your character from harm for 1 post. Can only be used once per thread. Will not work against all types of damage, such as from poisons.)

VIAL OF LIMITLESS PAINT

This vial, if it is not emptied fully, will re-fill itself with whatever non-magical liquid contents are within it. It can be used for reasons such as providing a never-ending supply of water while traversing a desert, an endless source of olive oil when cooking in a kitchen, or a limitless amount of paint in Mirrorlight's yearly paint war!

CHROMATIC RING
REUSABLE ITEM - ADEPT - UNIQUE
This ring allows its wearer to change the color of solid objects by touching them with the finger this ring is worn on. Sliding the finger left to right across the object changes the hue, up and down changes the saturation, and rotating the finger changes the brightness. This change is temporary, of course, so the object will fade back to its prior color over the course of the next hour or so. In addition to the fun antics it was meant for, it can be useful in temporarily hiding written text or causing objects to blend into their surroundings.

This pendant is a magical focus which increases the intensity of the wearer's offensive-type magic. Unfortunately, this comes at the cost of lessened precision and control, and tends to be actively detrimental for spells which rely on these attributes.

Lost Poppet
REUSABLE ITEM - UNIQUE
A little doll, no more than 4 inches tall, which was made to help lost children find their way home. Dripping a few tears (or drops of blood will work just as well) onto the fabric will cause the poppet to spring to life and start running in the direction of the most closely related living ancestor of the person the tears belonged to. Due to the length of its legs and lack of strength, it's quite easy to follow, even for a small child. Additionally, tying a strand of hair around the poppet's arm will cause the poppet to lead you towards the person the hair belonged to -- ideal for parents looking for their lost child.

PRESERVATION BOX
REUSABLE ITEM - ACOLYTE - UNIQUE
A well-made box, no larger than a lunchbox. When completely sealed, this box will keep its contents in the exact same state that they were in when it was closed. Hot foods will say hot, cold foods will say cold, and even small creatures placed inside will not age or notice any passage of time between when they were placed in there and when they were let out. Familiars which are small enough to fit in the box will be banished back to their native strata when the lid is closed as if they'd willingly de-materialized.

CLEANSING SHARD
REUSABLE ITEM - ADEPT - UNIQUE
An unassuming shard of selenite, no larger than a human thumb. The material will absorb poisons and impurities of a non-magical or weakly magical nature from its surroundings, visibly darkening the more it absorbs. Such shards are used often by world leaders and high-visibility personalities when they're offered a drink in a crowd, simply dropping it in their cup and waiting a few seconds before taking a sip. Be aware that it also purifies alcohol, so it isn't very fun at parties!

WRAITHBONE FOCUS

This accessory is made from a string of round, greyish beads which were carved from the bones broken off from the legendary Jhar in battle. Strangely, despite the Jhar's strong anti-familiar aura, this item actually enhances elemental abilities and eases their mana consumption when worn by a familiar. Unlike most magical items, it can be carried by a familiar when they de-materialize and return to their native strata.

A blueprint of a combat glove that can store electrical energy and convert it into mana. By releasing mana into the glove, the witch can absorb electrical attacks or release the stored electrical energy to fire back at an enemy. Alternatively, the stored energy can be converted into mana to be used immediately by the witch, or be stored elsewhere such as in a magic canister.

Sarah Glatzer runs one of the most popular salons for witches in Sundial. In a rather abnegated attempt at teaching witches of all ages and orientations how to care for their appearances, she published a book full of recipes for different concoctions that are sure to beautify even the ugliest duckling. All the potions in this book are patented and cannot be sold by anyone but her business, but Miss Glatzer encourages all witches to try brewing them at home. While illusionists may choose to change their appearance at will, the less fortunate witches are forced to recur to less practical alternatives. Hair dying potions may be fairly easy to brew, but this scroll offers a base recipe that does not only last longer than most commercial hair dyes. However it also has little impact on the a more sensitive person’s scalp.

a small container of white paste that when applied to the tongue can induce visions in themselves or whoever consumes the paste. the visions are usually not as meaningful as those which occur naturally, but may provide insight in subjects which the seer wouldn't normally think to investigate. it is debated whether the visions induced in non-seers are actually meaningful, since they can be as confusing and seemingly nonsensical as the visions of a fledgeling seer. it tends to be more effective if a seer is present to guide the individual through. This item is one time use.(4 uses)

SUNSPEAR EMBER

The legendary Sunspear wielded by Naseera Shaer, one of Sundial City's founders, was thrown once again in recent memory following the temporary reanimation of her peacefully entombed body in Eclipse Town's catacombs. Embers from this weapon are notoriously resilient, remaining alight even when in contact with ice and water. When mana is pushed into one of these embers, it will burst into a small firestorm, roughly 5 meters in diameter and 3 standard building stories in height, afterwards rendering the ember ashen and inert. Note that these embers can be used as a dim light and meager source of heat without expending one of its limited uses.

Though many of these fallen scales were lost to the tides (or the monsters) of Mirrorlake, you got lucky and managed to find one washed up on the shore. With all the media attention attributed to this truly legendary fight, these golden scales are in rather high demand and can be sold to Kiki for a hefty sum of gold or traded to the Tradehouse Keeper for (almost!) anything you want. They seem to be infused with some sort of power, and seers with the right abilities can see a unique, ghost-like aura around each one.
