001. familiars have a true name which usually is made up of two different words, and a given name that the witch calls them by in the open. the true name is not usually shared with anyone.

urusula (or 'stripes,' as she has been named) is a pitch black northern flying squirrel with a meter-long wingspan and brilliant green eyes. her nails are exceptionally sharp and her favorite thing to do is claw an enemy's eyes. 'darkness' for her, means literally that. she enjoys blinding the enemy, using clouds of darkness as a means to an end.

this squirrel is a bit of a diva, and is rather flighty and quick to jump to conclusions. she's always eager to instigate things and loves making things dramatic, often pushing witch name to take the reckless or a little more morally bankrupt option out of the given directions. she likes to push her luck, but she's as loyal as familiars are. she loves it when things go as she predicts, and spreads her cynicism --which she calls acquired taste.

her acquired taste apparently also consists of opera masks, because she's almost always wearing on when she materializes. the interesting thing is that the masks change almost every time (yet remain consistent for a given appearance). the typical one is plain white though, attracting more attention to her sparkling emerald eyes.
