Echo holds himself a true hunter. Pensive, patient, persistent, and ruthless, he sits as an opposite to who Tsubaki has been nothing short of an impulsive git until her accident. He prefers silence over needless words, and speaks only when he believes he has something important to say. As an shadow familiar, he strives to embody the positive traits of his origins: Strength, adaptability, cunning and the ability to be both ever present, and always absent. He focuses on skills that allow himself and Tsubaki the secrecy they need to hunt their targets, or shadowy ways to produce a tactical advantage that can tip an encounter in their favor.

Echo pushes Tsubaki to pause and think, forcing her to take the most advantageous approach rather than simply leap in head first. He follows a strict code he set for himself, keeping his lust for the hunt in check with the Hunter's Law. He carries this desire a little far sometimes, and Tsubaki is forced sometimes to remind him that, indeed, some creatures do deserve to be hunted. Despite their seemingly opposite personalities, Echo cares for Tsubaki deeply, and seeks to shelter her as he would a member of his own pack. He views her desire to pursue her duty as a Huntress as an opportunity for him to give her that confidence and security she has lacked due to her self criticism.

Echo holds a variety of forms and figures, but above all prefers to stay close to his companion. He stays close by her side at all times, often rising from the shadows her body casts in the form of a pitch black wolf, the crest of his back rising, at his smallest size, to her waist. In combat, however, he changes his appearance drastically. He rises as a swirling mass of fur and shadow from her body, His head now the size of her torso. His eyes and jaw spill forth an eerie blue light, brimming with his mana as the shadows flicker and leap from the corners of his mouth and from his fur like flame. When the hunt begins, pretense is dropped, and the pair simply become Wolf and Lamb, with no other monikers.
