Bandy, being a lace monitor, is about the two meters long and is most likely the laziest familiar you will ever see. His obsidian hide, punctuated by bands of golden yellow and sapphire spots, can often be seen lying on Matteo's desk or snoozing just about wherever he pleases. His favorite places to nap are right where you don't want him to be.[break][break]
The purple-tongued lizard, though impressive in size, lacks any sort of other qualities that might make him stand out to a viewer. If anything, an observer will do naught but watch as the lizard sleeps. Perhaps if they're lucky they'll see Bandersnatch flop over on his side. What little fame Bandy has usually comes from accidentally setting things on fire. It's earned the lizard an annoying, if small, reputation.[break][break]
However, to Matteo, Bandy is as loyal a familiar as they come, and a caring companion. Though the lizard tends to do whatever he wants and is as stubborn as a rock, he'll come to Matteo's aid whenever it's needed. And though the two often annoy the heck out of each other, they have a brotherly bond.[break][break]
In terms of power, Bandy has never displayed much of a show. However, Matteo has learned that Bandy, when he sneezes, will snort out a small spark of flame from his nostrils. In winter, Bandy is often a welcome companion to keep away the cold. Another strange quirk is that the lizard has a strange magpie-like tendency - he can find precious and semi-precious gems just about anywhere and he'll collect them. No one's sure why.
