I can't remember much other than that metallic taste in my mouth and the dull ache of a busted lip. That's as good of a beginning as I deserve. Unwanted but never abandoned my family never paid too much mind to me to exist, but to pretend like you don't that's what it meant to be a bastard in the Wolvenhart family. I know this all sounds severe, but my childhood isn't nearly as dramatic as it sounds. I was fed, clothed and taught all I really needed to know to survive in the world. If anything the beatings were a punctuation mark on an otherwise privileged life.[break][break]
However, this punctuation mark resulted in something that changed my life forever. Through chance alone, I discovered a mask, and with it, all my fears seemed to resolve themselves or at least bury themselves in a place I couldn't reach until I removed it. [break][break]
If my parents taught me anything in my short 20 years of life it's that with power you can get anything you want. Money... Love... Freedom, and that, that isn't right.

Mr. and Ms. Wolvenhart[break][break]
It is with a heavy heart that we deny your son, 'Jun Wolvenhart's' acceptance into the Helios Knights as a fledgling magic user. When asked to perform any sort of spell or really any kind of proof of magical ability your son didn't respond whatsoever. While you both cited that young Jun experiences certain anxiety 'spells' refusing to respond entirely to any administrator both in public and in private is simply unacceptable. When asked a final time to perform something arcane in the slightest the young man for this first time vocally refused and was cited as saying,"Why would I perform for a group of money grubbing cowards who can't see past their own egos?" For a boy with a supposed anxiety circumstance we were very surprised and disheartened to hear such adamant protest from a then applicant. As such we, of course, wouldn't want to keep someone who has no interest in being here, and we hope that the young Mr. Wolvenhart is able to study magic in a place that he feels better aligns with his values.[break][break]

In the pages following, it's apparent more than a few were removed forcefully and judging by the state of the notebook itself any sort of care for the device had long since been forgotten. All the lingers on the corner of the back cover is a drawn hexagram sporting a crescent moon and the faint scent of coffee.
