this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.

it is rather strange to be protecting a target instead of destroying it, for once. stranger still is the meanderingly slow pace of this mission thus far, his client having chosen to walk all the way from his hometown towards gale valley, with the reason cited for no horses or portals being a significant mistrust of both. paranoid or not, kasimir cannot help but think the trade off of speed would have been worth it, especially with the potential bandits in the area.[break][break]
at least the view is nice. rolling hills verdant with a grass sea, sunshine-yellow flowers crowning the hilltops and wildflowers growing along the path; a sky soft and light like a watercolour dream, a gentle breeze. more than enough space for them to stretch their legs, kirjava and he. it really is rather beautiful... if not a little boring. [break][break]
biting back a sigh, he prepares himself for another few hours of snail-slow walking.
[attr="class","ashni-tags"] @ Mickey Hassan[break] # yeet here we go
Rolling hills and a gentle breeze. Quiet save for the sounds of nature. It was utterly annoying. The sunlight to harsh, the air to clean. The wilderness was not his favorite place to be. The harsh lights and smells could be overstimulating. Dark, smog filled air was what he was used to. It was familiar.
The raccoon and witch travel slowly. They are well behind and not in line with the camp of bandits. They were the diversions. Though if one of them managed to kill the target that was just fine as well. All that mattered was he died. While he preferred to be the one to do it he wasnt foolish enough to put his pride before the coven.
He was farther ahead on the trail than where kasimir burovski ✨ and the target were. The area less open with woods to hide in on one side. It was probably be darker by the time they go there. The bandits however were much less patient. Three camp points to attack their target. Two within close range and the last near the assassin.
“Now we wait.” The boy cloaked himself in darkness using his cloaking spell. They hid in the darkness of the trees. On the other hand the first wave of bandits moved in.
The area was very open... hard to hide themselves. No doubt the near master could easily detect their presence even with their attempts at a cloaking spell. There seemed to be one novice skilled witch among them doing the cloaking, the rest were mostly apprentice or fledgling skilled. Numbers were in their favor but that was all. The second backup camp was a little stronger. A handful of novice skilled witches among them. Nobody who was an actual threat though. We shall see. They move in to get what they desire. The item.

of course the mission cannot go smoothly.[break][break]
he senses them long before any attack, a dozen witch-lights flaring against the backdrop of his intuition. kasimir bites back a sigh, even as kirjava perks up within their shared mindspace, her eagerness for a good battle thrumming in her veins. fledglings and apprentices he can detect with ease, but there are also novices? he thinks. the skilled ones are more difficult to detect, but he is fairly confident of his assessment. of course, there could also be other higher-levelled witches whom he cannot sense, but he rather doubts anyone would send this many low-levelled witches if they can afford an acolyte or two.[break][break]
still. first priority: the safety of the target. as they approach the ambush site, he murmurs to his client, "in a few moments, my clone will carry you to safety. please remain calm and do not struggle." then, as the man begins to process this with slowly dawning horror, kasimir acts.[break][break]
pitch black darkness rolls out over the ambushers, accompanied by a chill and the eerie sound of distant screams. in the split second following, a shadowy clone appears and proceeds to scoop the client up and take off with a flash of angel wings. head towards gale valley, he directs it. stay high. there is a shrill scream that trails off into silence - sheer terror, kasimir assumes. no matter. at least he is alive.[break][break]
then, back to work. he resists the urge to groan as he surveys the opponents before him, though kirjava appears by his side looking rather delighted. "well. let us get this over with, then," he mutters, resigned.

The main camp of witches started to make their move. A handful of them attempting to run after the clone while the main force attacked kasimir burovski ✨ and would undoubtedly lose. There was elemental attacks from various elements crashing into each other in their attempts to attack the red head. They obviously were not very good or perhaps not used to working together.
The raccoon and witch were still pretty far from the red head now flying with the client. They’d run into the small company of witches led by two novices soon. Though they lacked much long range firepower so he was in no real danger. He would appreciate if they could knock the clone out of the air at least. It’d be less annoying.
There seemed to be someone semi powerful in this group though as ice shards would fly towards the clone. Probably the leader of this small band of the group. Ice magic. Well at least the red head was a good match up even as just a clone. Fire.
“What now?” The boy said as a voice came alive in his ear. It sounded muffled and mumbling even thought he could hear fighting going on in the background noise. They were probably going to retreat soon. They were clearly outmatched. At least the first wave was. They were more just trying not to die and keep the main body occupied.
“Well this is annoying. I guess we should get moving..” The apprentice witch huffed as he tried to move quickly yet quietly through the forested area as best he could so he could see the damn flying clone coming. A few minutes probably before he would have to engage the target. One scratch. One splurge of a dagger. Kill the client. For the honor of Lady Fane.
