majestic is a word thrown around with lions, but helix is not elegant nor refined enough to give the word its due meaning. helix is a beast in all its glory- savage, unforgiving and instinctive. the lion trusts nothing but hugo and its claws, and when released it is always ready to attack. helix, by nature, believes that violence is that answer to most things and cannot be suppressed, reasoned with or calmed once provoked.

the key, of course, to earning his name was a display of rage greater than his own.

summoned in the depths of hugo's dispair, helix's first arrival into the outer strata was marked by blood. other than that first day, the lion has not really been extraordinarily submissive or compliant with hugo at all, tending to jump to his own conclusions and acting of his own accord. the two often stare at each other for long amounts of time when in disagreement (despite popular belief, there is usually no communication involved) and helix wins most of their staring contests.

the lion's outward appearance is no different from you typical male lion, although his mane seems to be layered with different degrees of darkness. his eys are also blue, to match is owner's.
