water droplets hang in the air -- a glittering arc catching the light as it moves -- then rise and fall in a slow rhythm that follow the familiar's tail. no larger than her base form, the dolphin dubbed 'iris' is approximately six and a half feet in length, with a distinctive pattern of iridescent spots dotting her sides. much like many aquatic familiars in sundial, she is quite a distinctive sight, swimming through the air as though it were water. eyes bright and with a ready cetacean smile, it's difficult to hold a grudge against her, even if she does accidentally knock your precious vase over with her tail. ( she insists it's an accident ).[break][break]
a cheery character, iris never quite stops playing -- a suspiciously dolphin-shaped figure breaks through the clouds in pursuit of a poor pigeon who just wanted a nap, and taylan only sighs in resignation. she's a talented helper in the garden, and demands recompense for her assistance by persuading taylan to bring her down to the docks so she can have a nice swim. her constant chatter makes her difficult to ignore, and more of than not, their days end with a stroll along the beach.[break][break]
perhaps taylan and iris make for an odd pair: a taciturn, severe witch with a dramatic lack of colour, accompanied by an energetic, bubbly familiar who can somehow bring the word 'rainbows' to mind. compromise, however, does not seem to lack between them, and both always seem to place the welfare of the other above their own.

after a moment’s delay (and deliberate visualization for novice witches), a shooting pillar of water blasts out of a given surface. the force and amount of water generated are decided by a witch’s rank.

the most simple of techniques, creation is the ability to create water. this enables the witch and the familiar to create balls of water to lob at the enemy. this technique grows in strength and speed with the witch, meaning a fledgling might not be able to do much.

SCROLL OF THE SWITCH
SCROLL - GENERAL
a very simple scroll that almost every witch possesses the knowledge of. its knowledge allows the witch and the familiar to switch places with its master at any time or distance from each other. however, sudden switches can leave an inexperienced witch dizzy or disoriented.
Plantshaping Scrolls

SCROLL - PLANTSHAPING
in a location where the surroundings would allow for it, the shaper can cause a wall of thorns and vines to grow rapidly from the ground, which remains in place unless otherwise moved or destroyed. the height and width of the wall depends on the witch's rank.

THORN
SCROLL - PLANTSHAPING
the shaper is able to augment an existing plant with thorns, though it requires intricate knowledge of the plant that they are manipulating. it is easier with plant types that are naturally inclined towards having such outgrowths, or constructs of their own making. 'thorn' is used generally here, and could refer to thorns, spines, or prickles - the extent and coverage of which would depend on the witch's rank.

VINE WHIP

a more typical spell for a plantshaper. a witch may create a vine and use it to move objects, as well as for attacking if need be. the strength of the vine depends on the witch's rank.

WAKE THE FOREST

this scroll causes nearby trees to gain a semblance of sentience and come to life in defence of the plantshaper. the stronger the plantshaper, the more ‘intelligent’ the tree(s) seems to be, and the more trees they can manipulate.

FAIRY RINGS: THE SUMMONER’S CIRCLE
SCROLL - PLANTSHAPING
this scroll was created to support summoners, whether that be the caster themselves, or allies. while inside this fairy ring, a summoner will find it much less taxing to summon things, particularly with spiritual summoning. however, recently plantshapers have worked out how to create a fairy ring with the opposite effect - that is, making summoning more difficult for the summoner; the two different effects, ironically enough, are very similar in casting and the rings look almost identical. like all fairy rings, the spell is ‘broken’ upon more than a quarter of the mushrooms being destroyed.

FUNGAL DECAY: FLESH AND BONES
SCROLL - PLANTSHAPING
the plantshaper causes fungi to sprout that will latch onto and begin to decay the flesh of anyone who comes into bare-skin contact with it, the caster excepted. growth is slow when this spell is cast by weaker witches, and victims can delay the onset of the fungi by expelling pure mana from their skin, however this spell is terrifyingly lethal when in the hands of a master.

FAIRY RINGS: SCROLL 3

the plantshaper causes a fairy ring to sprout, whereupon anyone inside the ring will begin to feel a strong urge to stop where they are and sleep. the stronger the plantshaper, the stronger the urge will be, the larger the fairy ring can be, and the harder the mushrooms composing the ring will be to destroy. the spell will be ‘broken’ when more an a quarter of the mushrooms are destroyed.

WOODSHAPER’S GUIDE: SPEAR

helcata the autumn maiden is said to have created these during her reign of the terror as a mass murderer in the percival forests. she is said to have killed many witches with these spells. this scroll is usable only where the area permits it. the user can manipulate the roots of a nearby tree, using their mana to harden them to break them through the ground in front of them like a spear jutting out of the earth below. the stronger the witch, the harder an individual root can be and allows for more roots to be manipulated.

FUNGAL DECAY: MANA DECOMPOSITIONADV
Scroll - Plantshaping
The plantshaper causes fungi to sprout in their vicinity, that rapidly begins to decay the spells nearby, thus decomposing the spells into unstructured mana. Fledglings will find that they can only ‘decompose’ weak, small spells, but masters of this scroll can force giant fungi to sprout that can render debilitating attacks all but null. Note that it does take time for the fungi to fully decompose a spell, however.

A high pitched song that drains away the will to fight from those that hear it. The closer the victim is to the sound, the stronger the effect. Allies are not immune to this sound as it will effect anyone who hears it.

COVEN CREST - SILVERTONGUE FLEDGLING (UNUSED)
a magically enchanted, never-ending hourglass that fits in your palm. this object was given upon being accepted into silvertongue. though it seems like a simple keepsake, this item will serve as your character’s lifeline in the face of imminent peril. when the bearer’s mana reaches critical levels, all items made similarly will begin to glow as a mass signal is sent to witches of your coven, allowing them to come to your aid should anything happen. may be used once to escape death.

This silver ring with a milky-blue centerpiece creates a magical barrier around its wearer when they are in physical danger. The wearer's entire body is protected from physical blows and magical spells alike, though it only lasts for a few seconds. When the ring's effect wears off, it will immediately begin recharging, and can activate again after a few hours. (Protects your character from harm for 1 post. Can only be used once per thread. Will not work against all types of damage, such as from poisons.)

this pink-petaled flower crown can be shaken to release pollen which causes the wearer (or whomever the crown is shaken above) to develop a particularly disarming aura. witches may let their guard down around them, and creatures or animals which have not already been enraged will express some level of trust towards the affected individual. unfortunately, this calming effect does not work on wraiths.

This seer's sage plant possess soft blue and purple flowers and sits in a sandy ceramic pot, all deceptively plain. Consuming the leaf (such as via infusing it into a tea) will, for better or worse, bring fate-spun visions to the consumer.

LIMITED USE ITEM - ADEPT - 2 USES
Enclosed in the envelope are 4 runic talismans, high quality gems with thousands of tiny runes and concentric circles etched on the surface. They seem to almost hum under your fingers, and are warm against your skin. They're strung on braided cord, ready to be worn.
