you've always been alone. this is nothing new to you—you've grown to accept it, no, you've done more than that. you've embraced it. you've made it who you are. it defines you now: as a mercenary, as a witch, as casimir.[break][break]
there are very little things you know of your past. you never knew your parents. you never knew where you were born. you never knew, and still don't know what it's like to rely on something, to put your faith and trust in them. but it's okay, because you never needed anyone but yourself.[break][break]
you grew up on the streets of sundial, bouncing from alley to alley, never once settling down. you were a beggar. day and night you'd sit on the side of a busy street with a steel can in front of you. sometimes coins would fill to the very top. sometimes to the middle. and sometimes, more commonly, there'd be nothing. but you're used to it—used to being overlooked, used to being ignored. people like to pretend not to see you, like you don't exist.[break][break]
but it's okay, because you're used to it.[break][break]
for the longest time you thought this would be your life, and for the longest time you debated whether it was a life worth living. but then things turned around when your familiar started talking. finally, after all those years of solitude, you finally had a friend. no longer would you have to be alone. you finally had someone to rely on, someone you could trust with all of your heart.[break][break]
begging wouldn't last forever. you soon discovered you had powers just like everyone else, and you learned how to use your powers to help you—to turn your life around. with the power of invisibility the whole world became your playground. you very quickly picked up the art of pickpocketing, and you were good at it. from beggar to thief you continued to progress—you honed your abilities and used them to set you apart from the rest.[break][break]
silvertongue became a natural choice for a coven, and they welcomed you with open arms. apparently you had a bit of a reputation going after all those years of robbing the general public. you took jobs. you made money. you survived.[break][break]
you continue to survive.
