this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.
she wants to flaunt it, she got that look in her eye
A song played over the sound of people chattering, and Dahlia stabbed at the food on her plate with her fork. She took a sip of her rum and coke, fingering the glossy ID on the counter that surprisingly wasn't fake. She'd gone by a few different identities, and slid it in her pocket before any onlookers could get a good look at her name.
Just because she was known on the streets didn't mean she wanted to be known everywhere just quite yet.
Not without someone to watch her back proper.
She looked through the file she had in front of her, filled with images of a red headed boy with an attitude problem, or that's how it seemed to her anyway. She smirked to herself and took another bite of her chicken, humming as she chewed.
She had a lead, and glanced up as the door opened.
She'd sent a bit of a calling card to him to meet up, she needed a job done and a bit of info on some of the people he used to run with, and she knew she'd get it eventually.

i know what you're thinking
there is no breed of people kasimir despises more in the world than blackmailers. that he himself is, however unwillingly, included in this group, is... well. self-loathing is a feeling he is intimately acquainted with.
distinctive crimson hair dyed brown, clothing suburban-casual in a style no one who would expect of kasimir as himself, body language deceptively relaxed, kasimir makes his way to the popular restaurant his 'contact' had set as a meeting point. his mouth tightens at the thought of the calling card, the information included as 'encouragement' to show up.
it was not much, barely even scraping the surface of the atrocities kasimir has committed in this blood-stained life of his at the orders of his 'benefactor', but the fact that another is attempting to sink their claws of control into him has him exceedingly wary. for all that it would not truly affect him in meaningful ways should the information be leaked - that honour lies in the hands of xuan jin, and xuan jin alone - it is better to play along and gather information about how much this want-to-be spider knows and what they want from him for now.
she is not difficult to find. the moment kasimir steps through the doorway, he automatically scans the room for potential threats, green eyes settling on the pink-haired girl sitting at a less conspicuous table, a dossier of papers and files spread out in front of her. his eyes narrow as he catches a glimpse of his own picture, his crimson hair vivid against the page.
but the girl, the blackmailer. he recognises that face - he has made certain to have at the very least a passing familiarity with all the witches in his coven - but it takes a moment to put name to that distinctive pink hair, the dark skin and green eyes. ( a thought niggles at the back of his mind - has this girl any connection with their illustrious leader? - but he cannot remember for certain, and matters very little )
"joshi," he greets coolly, sliding into the seat opposite of hers. he meets her eyes and holds, refraining from glaring only through his many years of practice at maintaining a neutral countenance.
she wants to flaunt it, she got that look in her eye
She's bored with him already.
That guarded look, his body language, she can tell he's going to be no fun. She probably doesn't have enough dirt on him, gets a distinct feeling he's dealing with some other source of stress, and she doesn't hide it. He's holding her gaze and she rolls her eyes, casting him a bored and uninterested look before closing the file and resting her elbow on it to cradle her chin in her hand.
"You're boring me. Try to be less.....you for a second hmm?"
Names flash through her mind, at least four of them, and she sighs and leans back in her chair. She takes a sip of her drink and sighs, looking at him critically.
"So I assume you have an inkling of why you're here yes?"
Faces to go with the names. Honestly, it's not the worst she's seen, there was that one time she was kidnapped that sticks in her brain - the one with the barrel of acid. She frowns a moment, then pinches the bridge of her nose.

her eyes are green like his own, sharp like broken bottleglass and stained in death; her posture is slumped, casual, uninterested and dismissive and disdainful writ in the set of her mouth. she does not look as if she is particularly glad to be here, nor that he fulfills the expectation she wishes - an act this might be, but kasimir is fairly certain joshi is genuinely displeased with some aspect of his arrival.
the thought pleases him.
he is boring her? good. kasimir has absolutely no desire to be of interest to anyone save his little sister, much less to this would-be blackmailer. being interesting has been the cause of most of his problems thus far, what he wants is to be no more than an ordinary, average, forgettable citizen. perhaps, if he gives this girl nothing of what she wants, she will tire of these games and be rid of him.
kasimir makes certain his body language remains completely neutral, that his expression does not so much as twitch. his gaze is steady on her as she sighs, leans back, takes a drink, then stares back at him.
"so I assume you have an inkling of why you're here, yes?" he does not bother to reply. they both know full well why he is here. "i need information and a job done."
kasimir does not even blink. "hire me as the rest of my clients do," he responds dispassionately.
