What can he say? It feels glad to be right for once. He's beyond happy with the idea that what he's doing is right, that someone agrees with him on this front, and that, for once, his family is wrong. He's soaked in everything Valencia has said like a sponge. It's true he's never thought of such a simple game like Rock, Paper, Scissors as being an allusion to such a philosophy, but now that she's mentioned it, it all seems to click.[break][break]
He supposes he's paper, because he's definitely the type to look out for peace. His grandmother is definitely some powered-up hybrid of scissors and rock, because no matter what he does, he can't beat her, and she's exceptional at attacking and hitting right where it hurts. He supposes his grandmother can't really factor too well into such a metaphor.[break][break]
"Thank you," he says in response. He's a little surprised by the words coming from his mouth. It was on impulse that he'd said them, and he realizes belatedly that they're not the usual response one would give to such a tirade.[break][break]
He mulls over his thoughts for something to say next, but comes up with a blank. He looks down at his papers - gosh he really needs to study - and glances back up at Valencia. Perhaps now is a good time to end the discussion - he hadn't realized how much time he'd spent talking with her.[break][break]
"It was lovely meeting you," he says, starting off slowly. "And I'd really love to continue talking, but I do have some studying I need to do..." He trails off, hoping he hasn't offended her in any way. Of course, he doesn't mind chatting for a bit more, but he really should be getting his studies done.
