Kasumi Akamatsu has hidden her family ties all her life; being second-in-command, as well as the heir to the Akamatsu clan’s vast and powerful empire, she does not risk the exposure of the family’s endeavors. The Akamatsus have long gone into hiding for reasons unknown, though their name is still spoken with fear — albeit with some respect — despite their supposed disappearance. In reality, they thrive, of course operating under differing identities to prevent linkage to their various activities, and Kasumi manages her own private operations outside of her familial responsibilities.

While seemingly being an unsuspecting witch of Sundial, Kasumi has made a name of herself, known as the White Widow though not in such a way where she can be traced to the name. She is known for her skill, ruthless tactics, and her expert evasion from being exposed to the public. A peculiar part of this identity is that she does not take explicit contracts; rather, she watches, listens for any mission she might be interested in before completing it and collecting her reward by way of another family member. While this may be considered risky, they are always under disguise, with the sheer intimidation, terror, and threat the family poses is enough to keep their business under wraps; of course, the "customers" do not know they are dealing with the clan, as they are unaware of its continued existence, they are merely aware of the dangers the White Widow and her supposed lackeys possess.

Besides, it’s no surprise that any possible resistance is met with a quick, gruesome end.

It should be noted that Kasumi hails from the bloodline of the wildly feared Okazaki Akamatsu, and this has earned her a substantial amount of respect in the community of those who are privy to her existence, though not her identity— those who deal in similar endeavors do not know the explicit connection, simply that she hails from power. Furthermore, to the public eye, the clan was merely seen as an immensely powerful, entrepreneurial family who could sway one’s life with the pull of a string that people were in denial of guessing how.

Kasumi is a difficult, cold, controlled individual; she reveals little about herself, and is often short, blunt, and curt when interacting with others. This isn’t to say she does not have a courteous or kind aspect to her— these parts of her are simply restricted and contained, only shown to those who she deems worthy of her effort, though these people are few and far between save for her family members. Coven mates are often treated with a more amicable air for the sake of keeping them close to her, as most of her actions are motivated by goals outside of the realm of simply “being nice” to those around her.

She is prone to developing shallow, almost one-sided relationships, and will sometimes go to the length of cloaking herself in a mask of a more personable persona to get close to others — usually to manipulate them to her liking — leading them to believe she truly cares for them and is a genuine companion. Despite this part of her, it is not impossible for her to form sincere friendships, it is merely something hard-earned; it is usually done by way of proving loyalty and whether or not they are someone she can trust to work with.

However, she is also not one to cling to any companionship— she can be merciless, and if she finds it necessary, the likelihood of her cutting ties or dooming someone to a less-than-pleasant fate are high and will be done with little to no hesitation. Of course there are exceptions, and she may even feel remorse for doing so or refuse to do so if someone means something to her.

Some would say Kasumi has many enemies— people who would like nothing more than to see her fall. Of course, the majority of these people hold antagonistic airs towards the White Widow and not necessarily her, which can occasionally complicate her missions, though she pays no mind to it. She has no time to expend the effort to actively despise others, though it is not impossible; if one hurts someone she has decided to care for, Kasumi will seek retribution without the option of forgiveness. This is especially true for those wishing to compromise her family, and one would be foolish to dare crossing the clan for this reason.

Aside from “hating” a person, Kasumi does develop a distaste for others rather easily; she does not pity the weak, and often finds them inferior and unworthy of a second glance or respect. She will be exceptionally rigid and cutting in her words and actions toward those she dislikes, though sometimes she will deceive them into believing the opposite simply to hurt them later on for her own pleasure— like a sort of victory and establishment that she is above them.

Being asexual and questioning her aromanticism, Kasumi does not develop attraction to others in a romantic or sexual sense. While relationship wise she often wonders as to how she “swings,” she does not experience any desire or need to engage in sex. However, she is entirely willing to use people romantically and sexually to her advantage. Growing up she was often seen and thought to be a beautiful and entrancing woman, catching the attention of others has never been an issue for her, and she has had her fair share of trysts in order to achieve whatever goals she has set for herself or the clan has thrust upon her.

Because she questions whether or not she truly can experience romantic attraction, this can cause turmoil when someone expresses the desire to truly pursue her. Of course, she usually and naturally spurns any possible advances, as she seldom develops any feelings for another individual— in fact, she has yet to develop any romantic attraction at all, though this is subject to change due to her rocky nature in terms of her sexuality. The most likely option would be Kasumi entering a relationship not because she is attracted to someone but simply due to an ulterior motive, whether that be to gain influence, information, or simply to toy with others when she finds herself to be bored with the goingson in her life.

Despite all of this, it is possible that Kasumi will instead develop platonic feelings for someone else despite what the other may think they “are.” Because she is naturally protective of those she cares for— even though she has a strange way of showing it— this can be a way for her to bond with someone, even if it leads to heartbreak.
