this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.
Hearing the little bit of quiet laughter that slipped out of her Kenneth couldn't help but start to smirk slightly. He had been expecting probably a pity laugh or even a little chuckle, so getting an actual genuine laugh; no matter how brief it was, was a pretty good thing in his book. "Oh am I now? You sure know how to flatter a guy, although I could say the exact same things about you." This time there really wasn't a hint of anything jokey about what it was he said. Well at least about the very last part of the statement.
As yet another teasing wink directed at him Kenneth would smile slightly, not returning the gesture with a wink of his own this time though. After all it could potentially ruin the moment if he kept overdoing it with random winks to help back up teases. Since she didn't really bring the whole topic of dance lessons back up Kenneth was just gonna let the topic go as well, not seeing much reason to keep going with it after she stopped. Plus it did help to let him know that she wasn't actually serious about giving him dance lessons. "Well what can I say, you and your attention are some pretty damn good motivation so far."
"Huh?" Raising his head back up from the ground to look at her Kenneth was a little bit caught off guard by the sudden arrival of the fourth lesson, as well as the simple way that it was said. It seemed like a weird thing to have to do during the dance, at least in his eyes it made more sense to look down every now and then to make sure you weren't about to squash your partner's toes. Though she was the expert here of course, she undoubtedly knew more about the proper etiquette and what not then he did. "My bad, just wanted to make sure I wasn't stepping on your toes."
Stepping off of the dance floor along with Aurelia Kenneth would also carefully pull his hand away from her body, slipping them down into the pockets of his jacket instead as they approached the set of double wooden doors. "Wouldn't be as fun if either of us figured out everything right away huh? You ready to get this show on the road though?"

YOU'VE WAITED IN VAIN BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING FOR YOU
“I suppose you have a point and to answer your question, I am more than prepared when it comes to this.” The confidence seemed to radiate from her upon speaking her words, she was sure-willed and wherever the material lied within this grand estate; she would make sure to secure alongside the assistance of her partner. She turned her body away from her partner soon afterwards while she sent one last parting glance to the party surrounding them.
It seemed that the guests were distracted among themselves, there would be no reliable witness in the scenario where the mission would bust and she hummed at the happy thought; minimal struggle and minimal hindrance. She breathes out a slow breath after a moment, her gaze fixated on the doors before her and gently pushing the doors open to the long hallway just outside the hall– hinges gently creaking as she opens the door just enough to peer outside. Her eyes slowly scan either side of the hallway and much to her relief, no one appeared to be making their rounds in this section of the household… not quite yet.
She carefully slips out into the hall when she was certain, her hand resting on the door and holding it open enough for her partner to slip through; her grip firm on the entrance in an attempt to stifle the slight creaking it had done, “Now I have to ask you, are you ready?” Aurélia offered a sly smile his way, her words far more quiet than they had been when the two were dancing with one another though they had to be far more discreet here than there.
“Anyways, my guess on the whereabouts of Drake Morgan’s work would be his study and, unfortunately, where that may be is something we might have to find.” Her demeanor seemed to shift, her playful attitude shifting towards one that was far more serious; focus on the task at hand. If she had been with her sister, she was certain the process would have been less tedious– the perks of working with an athenian. However, Kenneth had yet to disappoint and there was no reason to be upset; they were working well.

In a somewhat weird way Kenneth was actually curious about how well his partner for the night would handle the mission. He wasn't doubting Aurélia's skills at all or anything even close to it, Kenneth was wondering just how good at this enigma of a person he was working with was. It was just yet another thing to add to the currently ever growing list of things that intrigued him about her. Although it would probably be taken off that list by the end of the night.
Taking one last glance back at the crowd enjoying their fancy rich people party Kenneth couldn't help but smirk as he slipped through the door that Aurélia had opened up for the two of them. It seemed that the crowd really did have no idea at all that the two of them had slipped out, everything was just going perfectly so far.
Once he had slipped through the opening Kenneth would scoot over to the side a bit, keeping against the wall just in case there had been someone else in the hall besides the two of them. Plus he had to get out of the way so that Aurélia could shut the door behind them.
"I'm definitely ready" The dark haired man whispered out, quitter then when they were dancing as well, before he nodded his head slightly. She had brought up some very good points about the study, it was the most likely place for it to be, though it would be a bit tricky to find. But he did have some idea that might work. Reaching a hand up behind his ear Kenneth couldn't help but grin over at Aurélia, feeling a little bit cocky about having figured something out already.
Pulling his hand away from his ear Kenneth would open his hand back up, revealing a little black gecko in the palm of his hand, the gecko being roughly the size of a quarter. "Meet my familiar, Shade. So I got a little idea, I'll just.." Breaking his whispering so he could pause for a moment the man would turn around and put his hand up to the air vent, his familiar hopping into the vent and taking off. "He can run around in the vents and figure out where the study is and then pop on back into my head to let me know where it is." Kenneth was actually kind of proud of his plan.

YOU'VE WAITED IN VAIN BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING FOR YOU
She stepped aside when her partner slipped into the hushed corridor, her firm grip on the wooden door loosening as his body slipped past the narrow entrance before pushing it shut; movements paced and mindful of the noise, “Then it seems that we’re on the same page, one less concern for the both of us.” She offered him a playful wink, carefully moving away from the grand doorway and allowed herself to temporarily rest against the wall of the hall.
Everything appeared to be falling into place for their simple mission and to a greater extent, relieving to know that problems had yet to occur outside a few minor details– the two had to search for Drake Morgan’s study room though this would all imply that his work would be stowed there from the beginning. Her attention soon settles onto Kenneth, her head tipped towards him in the slightest while her lips slowly parted when an idea slipped into her mind. However, the moment appeared to be short lived as her partner raised his hand towards his own ear.
She was unable to prevent the puzzled expression that settled onto her features, her brows furrowing as noticed the smug expression settle onto his hand; her gaze following his lowering hand. Her eyes seemed to brighten in the slightest when her gaze fell upon the small familiar Kenneth was handling, quickly raising her hand to cover her mouth, “How cute… I never expected someone like you to have a familiar like that.” She turned her head towards Kenneth once more, her hand soon falling at her side when Shade disappeared into the ducts of the home.
“Glad to know that you’re not all looks though, clever idea.” She cooed out a praise, her voice hushed and very much aware of their current surroundings. ‘It’s really a shame that you’re so large Agni, that could have been you.’ She eventually thought into her own mind, a small smirk settling onto her lips when she sensed his frustration.

"Heh I guess thats pretty good then, less concerns is always better." Kenneth whispered out with a faint chuckle, trying to keep it quiet still. Though the playful wink that she sent his way did yet again bring a smile to his face, he had been hoping that the rest of their time on the mission wouldn't be completely serious. The little playful flirtatious theme that had been going on during the mission was a very much welcomed change of pace from how his solo operations usually went. It wasn't something that he particularly wanted to let go of just yet.
Though of course if it came down to it he'd drop the playful flirty stuff and be completely serious. It wasn't something that he particularly was looking forward to.
"He is kinda cute huh? It surprises a lot of people that my familiars small but hey I like em. Oh and if you can get close enough to look he even has like..a tiny helmet on."
Eventually the faint sound of Kenneth's familiar scurrying around in the air vents would fade, due to it just getting too far away to hear unless you had some kind of super senses or something. Basically Shade was doing a pretty darn good job of being sneaky so far.
Which was something that didn't really come as any kind of surprise to Kenneth, Shade was literally the smallest familiar that he had personally ever seen, unless you knew what you were looking for it might be hard to figure out it was an actual familiar and not just a stain on the ground.
For a moment Kenneth would open his mouth to say something, only to stop as he heard Shade's voice echo into his head. Not really hearing anything too important, instead just getting a little blurb from the gecko letting him know that everything was going fine so far. "Well I did say that there were a couple more surprises to me. I'm not juuuuust a pretty face I can have some good ideas every now and then too." Whispering that out to try to stay quiet still Kenneth would send a quick wink her way, waiting to hear from his familiar where to go.

Her head would tilt in the slightest towards the vent when she heard the scampering of the small familiar grow faint, carefully listening to see if she could identify the sound before it entirely faded from her hearing range, “He seems pretty agile for such a small thing.” She murmured a comment, pale colored eyes soon turning towards the length of the expansive hall for just a moment; it was odd to see them so empty, so unprotected without worry.
The silence the room seemed to have was almost uncomfortable and it was times like these where she longed for the presence of her sister to scout the vicinity for roaming guards, “Hey Lover,” She spoke up, her head turning to look at Kenneth once more, “Let me know when your familiar spots the room.” Her gaze lingered for a moment, a small chuckle soon bubbling past her lips at his words.
“Never said you were just a pretty face, but I can’t wait to see what other surprises you’re hiding.” She hummed, quietly dismissing the less than impressed presence of her familiar. It wasn’t often that she could have some fun with someone different, while she enjoyed her chaotic missions with Kasimir or carefully planned ones with Roza; this was a breath of fresh air despite never personally admitting it.
