I'm wasting my days as I've wasted my nights and I've wasted my youth You're waiting for something you've waited in vain because there's nothing for you
Her interest was piqued when Remus Adler sought the assistance of Silvertongue members, an affluent witch promising a fair amount of reward for a mission as simple as infiltration and sabotage; denying the request would have been a foolish thing to do and fortunately for her case, she would not be required to dirty her hands to get the task done. Of course, this all implies that her partner and herself could keep suspicion at a minimum– at ease.
Aurélia hummed under her breath as she positioned herself besides one of the pillars of the grand room, pale gray eyes wandering the crowd idly as she awaited the arrival of her partner; the party appeared to be in full swing and from her position, the person of interest appeared to be distracted with the other guests in the establishment. She chuckled underneath her breath at the sight, the laughter light as she thought of the utter disappointment Drake Morgan would be faced once the grand party would lull to an end– rivalry among witches was always amusing, the hatred that flooded them; the pathetic competitions.
A shame that my sister can’t be here to lavish this moment with me, I suppose you’ll do Agni. She thought with ease to her familiar, the silence the two relished in breaking as her lips settled into a small smug smile. Aurélia could sense the disease the crocodile had with her words before the gruffness of his own voice sounding through.
Just because Drake Morgan is distracted now does not mean you’ll have an easy time getting those scrolls, Aurélia. Agni muttered in her mind, while his witch’s confidence was a relief; it almost seemed like a nuisance within itself.
Oh no need to raise your hackles, at ease. She cooed to her familiar, the amused smile remained settled on her lips when she heard his frustrated snort; she absolutely adored how serious he could be at times. Aurélia shook her head at the thought, her gaze diverting from the crowd to flag one of the waiters wandering the room down, “Thank you, I’ll be taking that.” She nodded her head to the worker, pushing herself away from the marble pillar to grab one of the champagne glasses from the silver tray the waiter carried.
Once the worker stepped away to wander the room once more, she raised the glass to her lips taking a small sip from the drink; her eyes settling on one particular person in the crowd. Aurélia hesitated for just a moment though eventually moved to straighten the strapless maroon gown she wore to the event, her free hand moving to adjust her red locks while she raised her glass to the person in question– her partner for the night.

So tell the gun to sin Like an angel with the dirty wings Tainted by tastes of the soul This is another level Deep in
black roses

It had been a long time since Kenneth actually dressed up for anything, in all honesty he couldn't really remember the last time he actually worse something like this. Wearing a plain black suit, complete with a similarly colored undershirt and a dark purple tie Kenneth weaved his way throughout the crowd at the party the dark haired man quickly snatched one of the drinks off of a waitress' tray.
Flashing that particular waitress a quick somehow innocent seeming smile a quick and simple "Thanks" slipped out of his mouth before he took a sip of the drink, still moving around the party.
While this was one of the first "official" missions that he had undertaken for his coven it was very, very, far from the first time he had to steal something. Though the usually unwavering confidence for something like this that he typically would have was fading ever so slightly, this was the first time that he'd be working with a partner. He wasn't nervous or doubting their chances of pulling the mission off, this just wasn't really his elemental,
Glancing around the inside of the room yet again Kenneth would take another sip of his drink, leaning back against a wall as he surveyed the area. He hadn't really managed to notice where his partner for the night was yet, although that soon changed as he noticed a girl from across the raise a glass up at him. Raising an eyebrow slightly the man made his way through the party yet again, his familiar staying quiet for the moment in its place behind his ear.
After a few moments he finally made his way over to where his red headed partner had been waiting by one of the pillars, standing next to her with his glass in his head. "Hey good lookin, come here often?"

YOU'VE WAITED IN VAIN BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING FOR YOU
Aurélia had lowered her glass upon her partner taking notice and brought the rim back to her lips once more, pale gaze watching the man weave through the crowded ballroom of the estate– dressed in black attire with the hair to match, purple tie tucked underneath the suit jacket. It was a simple look though it was certainly a classic, and the relaxed confidence the man displayed certainly tied the look together.
She hummed underneath her breath, moving the thin glass away from her lips when her partner moved closer to her proximity; the half filled glass resting idle within the grip of her hand. Aurélia could feel a small smile tug onto the corner of lips at the cliché words that slipped from the lips of her mission partner; he had some nerve in him, “Hey handsome, I could really use some help around this place.” She greeted, the words leaving her with ease while she flicked her gaze to briefly meet his own dark one.
Extravagant parties were not foreign to her and she recalled the countless ones her parents would throw in her youth and she was certainly no stranger from stealing from them either; she had confidence with her own skills, but she wouldn’t object to having a little fun from time to time. Aurélia only hoped that her partner would be willing to entertain her though from their brief interaction, she could sense the amusement bound to happen.
“Wanna give me a hand?” She asked, her voice sooth and calm as she subtly moved a bit closer to the man, however she kept some distance between them– how willing was he to play?
Post by Kenneth Boyce on Sept 4, 2017 22:51:33 GMT
In all honesty Kenneth wasn't sure how well his little comment would go over with his partner for the mission, however purely based on what she said in return it obviously was received somewhat well. Of course it was a stupidly cliche thing of him to say but it was said just to gauge whether or not he'd be having any fun on this mission or if it would be strictly all business.
Though of course the words did hold some truth behind them, her appearance was certainly eye catching. Even if she hadn't been the person he was looking for she still would of stolen his attention away the moment he laid eyes on her. "Handsome huh?" the man chimed out with a slight smirk on his face, raising his glass up to take another quick sip of his drink. "Haven't been called that in awhile."
The amount of relief he felt in the woman's response to his cliche saying was actually quite a lot, having a bit of fun during the mission would definitely help it go more smoothly then he'd ever admit out loud. Sure he might of already been out of his element thanks to having to work with someone, but this wasn't really the kind of environment that he'd fit in with well at all.
Never in his life had he been to some big fancy party, he was a poor street urchin of a kid and now here he was at a party way too fancy for him. If he had tried this alone he probably would of stuck out like a sore thumb by now.
"Don't mind if I do~" He chimed out in response to her asking if he wanted to give her a hand, which he literally did a moment later as he held a hand out for her to take. Not even noticing the little bit of distance that she subtlety moved closer to him. "It's much easier to make it across a dance floor if you're, well, dancing."

YOU'VE WAITED IN VAIN BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING FOR YOU
There was a small glint in her eyes when the man indulged her little game, it seemed that he could have some fun and the suggestion that would soon follow him was more than welcomed in her eyes. Aurélia shook her own head in amusement, a small smile still resting upon her lips though her attention seemed to shift away from him for a small moment; her attention briefly settling on one of the passing waitresses, “It’s much easier to dance when your hands are free.” She managed a response, soon finishing the contents of her drink and placing the empty champagne glass on the passing platter– gray eyes settling back onto her partner.
She glanced down at his outstretched hand, an entertained chuckle slipping past her own lips at the sight before placing her free hand within his own, “It’s been awhile since I last danced, I hope you’re good on your feet.” She explained though she was fairly confident the memories would come flooding back to her; it was difficult to forget the past and moreso rich beginnings; a skill that was practically groomed into her among other things. Regardless, Aurélia carefully lead her partner towards the ballroom floor of the grand estate; her touch delicate while her movements held some semblance of grace.
Her movements slows before it grows to a brief halt and she turns to face her partner once they reach the floor; head tilted up slightly to properly look at her partner. Aurélia does not hesitate with her movements, her slight relaxed posture straightening up in the slightest and she soon rests her free hand on his shoulder.
“What are you waiting for Casanova? Whisk me away.” She urges, a smug smile settling on her lips.
She definitely did have a point, it would be incredibly hard to dance with their glasses in their hand. Shooting a quick smirk in the red head's direction Kenneth would tilt his head back ever so slightly and down the rest of the champagne in his glass.
Though he wasn't trying to make it seem impressive with the whole head tilt thing, he just had quite a lot of champagne left in the glass. Plus he had to hurry up and get it down before the waitress left, this way it gave him a little bit of extra time to just set the glass down on the waitress' tray before she went away.
Though the topic of whether or not he was any good on his feet did bring a slight frown to the dark haired man's face for just a moment. He wasn't really too sure about his dancing abilities, he really couldn't recall a time that he actually had to put those skills to the test; but, in for a penny, in for a pound.
Without a word being muttered he'd simply follow his partner to where she was leading him to the dance floor, his head moving every now and then just to see if anyone had noticed them yet. He was still slightly preoccupied with their mission.
Smirking yet again as her hand was placed on his shoulder Kenneth would turn to face her in turn, mentally debating for a few moments as to where his own hands would have to go.
After a few moments of pondering that he'd simply place one on her hip before chuckling a little bit. "Well to be completely honest, I've never dance. I really can't think of one single time that I've danced, guess you're gonna have to take the lead then?"

YOU'VE WAITED IN VAIN BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING FOR YOU
She could sense the hesitation in his movements, the uncertainty hidden within him as she stood there expectantly; awaiting his move to match with her own– his hand eventually settled on her hip… wrong. Perhaps the casanova wasn’t quite what he made himself seem, and the explanation that followed would only confirm the suspicions that lurked in her head, “I suppose I’ll have to teach you then.” Aurélia confirmed, her hand sliding down his shoulder and towards the hand that rested on her hip.
She redirected his hand to rest on her upper waist and shoulder area opposed to where it had been earlier, she was not hesitant with posing his elbows and thankfully, it had only been minor adjustments, “That would be the right pose cutie.” She teased, however her words held no malice to them– simply prodding at him where it was due. While Aurélia was more than willing to simply take the lead for their dance, she assumed a discreet lesson would benefit her partner a bit.
“Consider that lesson one.” She offered a small wink, her hand returning to rest upon his shoulder; her memory proved to be serving her correct thus far and thankfully she could recall some simple ballroom dancing. Aurélia hummed underneath her breath as she debated with herself, “Here’s to hoping that I won’t have to walk you through all the way, try not to step on my feet handsome.”
With that, she adjusted her position once more to ensure that neither one of them could step on their feet; an extra security measure before they would begin. Aurélia soon moves her body backwards, her feet first to step back as she urged her partner to step forward when she had; attempting to give the illusion that he had been the one leading her to those with prying eyes, “So, tell me, does someone as nice as you have a name?”
While she held little quarrels with having fun on the mission, there was still one that had to be done and gathering some intel on the situation would be beneficial in her case, “or are you playing the role of the good looking mystery man?”

The relief that Kenneth felt wash over him as she offered to teach him how to dance would of been pretty surprising in any other circumstance. However since his nonexistent dancing skills could potentially completely blow their cover the fact that the woman had this completely covered already was just a huge weight lifted off his back.
Well technically it was a good thing for both of them since it was their mission but still he was thankful that she could pick up where he was slacking. "Go ahead and teach me then, I'm ready to learn." He blurted out a bit flatly as she redirected his hand to the correct spot, feeling a bit naive already for not even having something as simple as that right.
However that feeling was quickly replaced with a smirk on his face and the little air of confidence around him coming back the moment that she started to tease him about it. "Weeell if you keep up all the little compliments I might have to get some more lessons from you some other time." He chimed out with a nod of his head as her hand returned to his shoulder, shooting her a wink right back before he grew just a tad bit quiet as she started to lead him through the dance. He had to concentrate after all, he didn't want to step on her feet and ruin the little moment that was going on.
"So if this is lesson one, whens lesson two? And my names Kenneth, Kenneth Boyce. You can call me whatever you want though; Kenneth, Ken, Lover, I'm alright with anything." After saying that he paused for a brief moment, a little mischievous smile spreading on his face due to that last thing he said. "Soooo, I guess its your turn for introductions?"

YOU'VE WAITED IN VAIN BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING FOR YOU
His confidence seemed to falter once more when she corrected his posture and how easy the words would blurt out in response to her words, however, she refrained herself from pointing out the change– while she would in most circumstances, it was best to keep somewhat professional considering the scenery of the mission itself. Aurélia instead maintained the small dance they shared, the memories refreshed in her mind as she did a small sidestep towards the left; her movements careful and mindful of her partner’s inexperience.
She would coax him to follow her afterwards though instead of directing her partner forward like she had before, discreetly instructing him to take a small step backwards while she moved forwards in response. The movements were not particularly difficult to pick up on and she assumed that her partner would eventually pick up the small implications the dance entailed, “You are definitely a charmer, but I might have to end up charging you if you’re looking for more.” She admitted, a sense of smugness present within her tone as she spoke; her brows raising in amusement when the wink was returned– how cute.
“Well, Kenneth Boyce, you seem to be doing just fine with lesson two.” She offered him another smirk, subtly directing their bodies towards the right once more; idly noticing the mischievous look that settled onto his lips. She expected the question to be returned and she breathed out a small sigh, almost as if she was pondering the idea of sharing her own name with him, “Aurélia, Aurélia Katona. You can call me Aurélia, Eli, Lover…” She trailed, her words a bit mocking compared to hi own though it was purely for the fun of it all.
“Now that introductions are in place, I suppose this means we can start getting to the real meat of things.” Aurélia turned her head away from the man, eyes briefly skimming over the crowd before eventually settling back onto Ken; it was definitely time for them to subtly make their way out of the ballroom area after all. She highly doubted that Drake Morgan would stow his work away in such a crowded room, if anything, she suspected it would have been kept in his study.
While he wasn't anywhere close to some world class dancer or even halfway decent at this kind of thing but Kenneth was slowly but surely starting to get the hang of this thing. Following her movements wasn't too hard at this point, perhaps she was making it particularly easy for him or something but he wasn't really sure about that. All he knew was that things were working out just fine so far which was all that really mattered at the end of the day.
At her response of charging him if he was looking for more Kenneth couldn't help but smirk again, trying not to laugh at her comment since that wouldn't really help him blend in at all as a random rich dancing guy.
"Oh really now? I might have to take you up on that offer, oooor see if we can just happen to run into each other again.." He chimed out with the smirk still on his face, hoping she caught that the last part was a hint about doing some more jobs like this in the future. Having a partner definitely seemed to make things a hell of a lot more interesting then they would of been if he was here alone.
Stepping to the right with her the dark haired man chuckled slightly, starting to actually feel that he was getting the hang of dancing. Even if they weren't really doing anything super complicated it felt kinda neat to blend in with these fancy rich folk for once. "Aurélia huh? Thats actually a really nice name, although i'd have nooo problem calling you lover." Winking at her yet again Kenneth would glance around the room as she suggested getting to the real meat of things. Which of course meant it was time to get the job over with.
"Sooo, easiest way I can think of to get out of here without being noticed is to just kinda dance to the end of the dance floor?" He whispered out while taking another quick glance around the room, suddenly feeling pumped up to start the actual job.

YOU'VE WAITED IN VAIN BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING FOR YOU
The relaxed confidence and smug facade the other donned had made Kenneth interesting in her eyes, especially with how easily he would return her playful antics; she was almost curious to how long the synergy would last or simply grow weak and fade away– disappointing if it happened to be the latter. However, conflict had yet to arise between them and her partner had proved to be an interesting one in comparison to those that she worked with in the past. Aurélia would soon snap from her thoughts when the other responded to her suggestion of payment and she couldn’t prevent the hum of amusement when Kenneth seemed to indulge in the joke, “Running into me more often won’t save you from the gold you owe me for all these lessons.” She pointed out, not quite rejecting the idea nor quite accepting it; her main partner has always been her sibling,
“I’ll tell you what though, we continue to work and play nicely the way have been for this mission and I’ll see if we can ‘run’ into one another more often.” Her voice was far more softer when she spoke, mindful of the guests that surrounded them while the two swayed with one another. The bar was set low for him and she was positive that they would be able to complete the mission without too much trouble either way; she simply hinted at a chance and was up to him to take it or just leave it.
“You’re too kind to me sweetheart, but take me out first before really calling me lover. I wouldn’t want you to be playing with fire you aren’t ready for.” She replied without a second thought, a playful wink following after; Kenneth was certainly a fun one to play with and she hoped that this wouldn’t persuade him to do otherwise.
Her demeanor shifted when the other obliged to start and she would shift her attention to the dancefloor, quietly debating a path when she heard his question suggestion, “The appropriate plan of action.” Aurélia praised, her stance shifting in the slightest as she slowly urged them to move; flowing with the movements of the other guests, “Lesson three, go with the flow and try not to stumble too much for me please.” She whispered after a moment, a sweet smile now settling onto her lips.
He figured that her response would be something going along with the joke about gold, well at least he thought it was just a joke. Not that it was necessarily a bad thing, it was just kind of what he guessed would be said next. In all honesty if the scenario was flipped around he would of said something at least kind of similar.
So she was basically just giving him more reasons to be interested in her as time went on. This wasn't going bad at all for his first time working alongside someone else. Shrugging his shoulders slightly as they danced around he'd tilt his head to the side before responding. "Didn't think it would, hey can't blame a guy for trying though right? As far as I'm concerned so far any excuse to meet up again works for me. You're...interesting."
Doing his best to not draw too much attention Kenneth would take yet another look around the dance floor, just getting another good look at the area. It was already perfectly clear that whatever it was they were here to take wasn't anywhere out here and probably up in Drake Morgan's study. However one thought did cross his mind about the dance floor, that thought being that it was a bit of a shame that this party would probably continue on just fine once they completed the mission and left. It would be soooo much better if he could disturb the entire party too, which left him wondering what he'd be able to get away with without jeopardizing their little mission.
"Oh really?" The man chimed out as yet another smirk popped up on his face, this one more mischievous then smug. "I don't have a problem with the heat, I bet I can handle the fire preeeetty well. If you give me the chance I'll gladly prove that." With that said he'd send another playful wink of his own her way. This whole scenario was definitely pretty fun so far.
As her stance slightly shifted Kenneth followed right after her, keeping up the pace they had set for their dance so far. While he still wasn't good at dancing it was surprisingly easy to follow her still, maybe it was just the motivation to pull off the mission.
Taking yet another quick glance to see how close they were to exiting the dance floor Kenneth would shift around a little bit, getting slightly antsy out of excitement. Though the sight of the sweet smile on her face seemed to snag his attention away from the objective again, there was just something..special about it. "Not stumbling too much am I? You keep this up though and I'll probably end up doing whateeever you want, even if its just not stumbling."

YOU'VE WAITED IN VAIN BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING FOR YOU
Kenneth was relentless in his endeavours and his dedication was almost admirable though she had to wonder if her partner was truly this easy to bend in the hands of anyone else than her own; whatever the answer may have been, her interest had yet to falter from him, “Keep this up and you might get a discount on the price.” Aurélia offered, though she had no intent on actually charging him on the dance lessons– she had other means of getting gold.
She would occasionally peer over her partner’s shoulders throughout their brief conversations, scanning the crowd and simply searching for an exit that would possibly lead towards the hall of the grand mansion; she had managed to successfully bring their dance to the middle of the floor as the two continued to move with one another– it would not be long until the two would meet their first destination if they continued to keep the pace they had.
“I never seen someone so dedicated like that before, guess that means you won’t fail the mission for me… right?” She would cast Kenneth a small glance when she spoke, hinting at the chance he definitely had; Aurélia would not allow an apprentice level mission to fail under her watch especially with how simplistic it was– stealing was second nature to her, it was how she made a profit when her parents kicked her down to square one.
Aurélia would progressively creep their bodies closer to the edge of the ballroom floor as she continued to the lead the two; the careful pace the two once had slowly transitioning into confident one and she only hoped that Kenneth would avoid stepping over her feet when the pace slightly picked up for them. The gentle smile transformed into a small pout at the words that left him and she breathed out a small defeated sigh, “Oh, I thought you already were…”
"Oooh a discount huh?" At this point Kenneth wasn't entirely sure if she was joking about the whole charging him for lessons thing. Although he honestly would of taken her up on the offer if it was genuine, after all dancing did seem kind of fun going off of the experience he was currently getting out of it. "I was kind of interested before but nooow you got my attention, I'll do whatever for a discount." Once that was blurted out Kenneth let out a quick chuckle, mostly to help let her know that he was just kidding around and going along with the joke. He wasn't really that desperate for a discount, most of the gold he had was stolen anyway so it was never too hard to get more.
Once the topic of not failing the mission, for her, was brought up Kenneth yet again glanced around the room. The thoughts of just causing some random chaos after they got what they were here for popping back into his head. Shaking his head a little bit he'd turn his attention back to his partner, trying to focus on her and actually getting the mission done.
Sure he might of wanted to cause a bit of chaos just for the hell of it but he wasn't flying solo anymore, he had someone else on the mission with him, and on top of that they were supposed to not raise any suspicion. The temptation was going to be kind of hard to fight but he was sure gonna do his best.
"Weeeell, I didn't really plan on failing the mission in the first place, buuuut if its for a beautiful girl then I guess some extra motivation won't hurt." Following that up with a little flirtatious grin he'd take a quick glance down at his feet, just for a moment though, as he made sure that he wasn't close to stepping on her feet or anything like that.
Following her lead still Kenneth would shrug one of his shoulders slightly as they neared the end of the dance floor. Sending a quick wink her way before speaking he'd try to make for that small defeated sigh he caused her to have. Though he did find the pout that came before it kind of cute. "Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. Your mystery man can't just give away all the secrets yet can he?"

YOU'VE WAITED IN VAIN BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING FOR YOU
She was unable to prevent the quiet laughter that slipped past when her partner blurted out his response though she did attempt to stifle the noise to prevent unwanted looks from the guests within the room, he was certainly a cute one in her book and she appreciated the fact that he had a similar humor compared to her own, “You really are a cute and interesting one, Kenneth.” She hummed, allowing their conversation about the lessons die down.
While the joke was amusing and the details it entailed were an entertaining after thought, she wasn’t particularly interested in running the poor joke dry– something could only stay funny for so long before the luster of it is lost. The dismissal of the conversation was also a means to prevent unwanted confusion, while some portion believed that her partner was smart enough to figure out that it merely a joke; another believed in the possibility that he would find the offer real and that was an outcome she wasn’t necessarily willing to deal with. She had other things to deal with and paid lessons unfortunately didn’t make the cut in terms of importance.
“I’m honored that you found some motivation, I’ll make sure to rearrange some things for you after the mission.” She offered Kenneth a small smile, a teasing wink soon following the simple gesture; it was relieving to know that her partner could center his head and actually focus. She would even consider the idea of working with him more when it came to certain missions.
She would notice how his gaze would dart to his feet and without hesitation she would attempt to redirect his gaze, “Lesson four, do not look at your feet.” She explained, her words simple and straight to the point; there was no need to sugarcoat something as simple as that– your gaze is meant to be on your partner, even if the dance was purely for show and a means to lower their suspicions.
The slow flowing motion of their dance would soon come to halt upon reaching the end of the dance floor, her hands carefully slipping away from his body as she turned to head towards one set of double wooden doors, “Shame that I know your name, but you can still keep me on my feet good looking.” She replied, her steps slowing as she briefly turned to face the man; it was time to commence phase one.
