this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.
Jelly is cloaked. That's all that matters for now.
Apparently the Leviathan coven has called her and another witch -- an anonymous one for now, they said they'd meet in the location of the mission -- to fulfill this mission and report to them after they had done it. Probably one of the hardest missions she's ever going to be in, but after all this was an opportunity to prove yourself so why risk missing it?
Some mysterious merchant goons called the "Circles of Primis Tenibris" were scamming and tricking people into doing things for their business-purposes, and whenever they get asked about why they do this, they point out to the Leviathan coven. While their coven is pretty known for being quite secretive and shady, it's not as if they were ever going to do things like this!
Obviously the coven wasn't happy about what those suckers did.
And to be honest, Jelly wasn't happy, too.
That's why she accepted this mission. To prove to those goons and to the ones they tricked and spread accusations about that the coven Leviathan isn't into business like this. It's all them; they're the ones who should be thrown profanities to for their crimes!
But she can't do that though. Because, like said. She's cloaked.
One big problem why she couldn't do that is that she has to keep her identity a secret, which goes the same to her partner whom she still doesn't know a thing about. She's gonna have to get in the premises of the Circle and actually be one of the goons so she could get some information and expose them to clear the coven's name.

Circles of Primis Tenibris. To be honest Percy couldn't care less but apparently, he has to. Because these merchants are doing their clients dirty and pinning the blame to Leviathan. The coven Leviathan, the coven driven to extinction in the war against the Helios Knights, have always stayed low ever since. Probably planning to take over the world, but not today.
He does not put on a disguise. Instead he put on a smart casual look. He totes a brown carrier, with his brown hair brushed up styled sleek. He covered every trinket that would give him a bad image. Or you know, something that would give his coven affiliation away. He likes to think that he hides his identity well. But of course, someone would still recognize him. Like this girl, for example.
She is wearing a cloak. But that sliver of luscious pink hair looks familiar. She's just standing there, so Percy can't see anymore than that. Is she his partner for today?
I mean, that cloak looks hideous. If she's trying to blend in, she's not doing a good job. So he approaches her and brushes away the hood. He basically forces his way to the action. He believes he has the element of surprise in his side. He readies himself for a slap but before anything comes at him--
"Wow, look who we have here," Percy says, smirking. Ah, yes, that's her. And weren't they dating? And so Percy smiles cheekily and opts for her hand. "Glad to see my baby here."

She walks quietly around the darkness of the hovels, and for some reason she enjoys it. The people here are mostly quiet and reserved, but some of them are quite the violent and would pick fights with anyone. Luckily those said warshock people didn't dare pick a fight with her; there was something about her that seemed very unsettling, and they didn't want to fight with someone scary.
Jelly simply kept on walking around the hovel when she felt her hood suddenly being lifted off. The girl whips her head to the owner of the hand, glaring and mouth ready to shout at them, but when she sees the familiar face it's almost like the world suddenly started to spin rapidly.
...Percy?
When he calls her baby, her shocked expression suddenly changes. "D-Don't baby me!" She exclaims, face suddenly turning red. This guy, whom she met in Amagika Park and then later got trapped with him in a lake was here in the hovels...
Seemingly her partner?!
...NO... WAY!
She took a deep breath, the glare finally dissipating from her eyes, with face still a little red and quite embarrassed with herself for getting stuck in a mission with this guy, of all people. "S-So... you're here for the mission...?" She asked him in a quiet voice. She needed confirmation, right? Otherwise if this guy was just walking around and so happens to bump into her she'd definitely kill herself later.
Post by percival grayreme on Aug 27, 2018 6:04:14 GMT
Percy can see the horror on her face and he can't help but laugh. Not expecting to see him, huh? Percy tugs at her hood. "Remove that shady cloak, you're garnering even more attention with that." Her pink hair stands out a bit too much, too. They'd have to work on that. For the moment he waits for Jelly to process the information. She's still the same, even after all this time. They had their last date about two weeks ago, and hasn't communicated since then. They're both busy... who knows they're going to be busy for the same endeavor.
And well, he'll be damned. She's really a Leviathan. Not a ruse, like what he thinks she is. Who would even admit they're a member of the coven, anyway. But it thrills him even more. They're both illusionists. This mission will be a piece of cake.
Then Jelly finally speaks. "Yes, Jelly, we're together." He emphasizes the last word to fluster the girl even more. "Now come, and we'll be right on our way. We're going to rent a room first, then we'll plan our move." He offers his hand, tilting his head to the side waiting for Jelly to take it.
If she won't, then Percy would just have to beckon her to follow him.
He makes a sharp turn to an old, rugged inn by the road. They just have to find an empty room, so they can work on their plan. He throws a bag of gold to the counter. A few quick whispers, and they have a room. Percy is handed the key, and he bids a thank you. Percy looks back at Jelly, then, and winks. He wonders what she thinks about all of these.

Eyup, he's here for the mission. Who would've thought that the legendary Percy would be here with her for the mission, eh? But then again, if they're gonna be working together then this mission will be done in a day. After all, she needed someone with a higher rank to be with. Of course she couldn't be doing this mission alone.
He tells her to remove the hood, and even though she wants to tell him that he couldn't tell her what to do, he was right about garnering much more attention. Fortunately, underneath her hood she wore something appropriate for this mission to avoid suspicion. So, as instructed of her, she removes her hood and smirks at Percy. "There, happy now?" She grins, adjusting her pleated skirt.
Together being emphasized made her scoff, but she didn't say anything. They were together in this mission after all. Then he tells her about what they should do for today, and for once she smiles and nods in agreement. "Good idea." Now they're finally talking.
Percy reaches out a hand for her, and she stares at it for a few seconds before smiling and taking it. She then comes with Percy and proceeds towards a nearby inn. Once they arrive, she looks around and earns a few whispers and suspicious looks. Shady people aren't uncommon in this type of environment, she knew. Instead of shivering, she glares back at them, and for a moment she could see others shuddering at this. She was really that scary to others, huh... good thing she already knew.
After a while, they finally get a room after Percy had paid the person on the counter. Once arriving in the room, she hurriedly sits on the bed and fans herself with her hand. "Ah, it's really hot in here..." She mumbles, then turns to Percy. "So... what should we do?"
Post by percival grayreme on Sept 24, 2018 11:54:23 GMT
Finally Jelly removes the hood, and her pretty face lights up. Sarcastically, as it is, but Percy would take it any day. "There, much better." Jelly is really pretty... pretty loud. Her energy never seem to wane. But this energy isn't the annoying kind, not even the overwhelming one. It's like a steadily burning fire.
Her hand is warm, too.
Together they go to rent their room. At most they'll be back before the day ends. Maybe stay the night, but he suspects Jelly would vehemently disagree. He can understand. As expected they earn a few whispers and suspecting glances. They know, but not the reason, nor the purpose. He gets the key, and leads the walk through the narrow hallway to Room 454.
He opens it and Jelly bursts right in, plopping on the bed. She is fanning herself with her hand... is she uncomfortable? That makes Percy think--he has to plan the mission well, else they'd get into trouble, which is exactly what they wouldn't want. Percy proceeds to unbutton his shirt, the first two, and then goes to sit beside Jelly.
He still has his carrier.
"Right, so," Percy starts, an elaborate plan in his head. "What I think is we should split up. You make the deal, and I am to show up later, to put more pressure on them. You will act like the modest secretary sent to talk with them. I will act like the impatient deal breaker. I say we need the paper works immediately, before the day ends, and see how they act."
He holds up his carrier, and opens it gingerly to show the bags of gold. "We'll use this to pressure them."
Satisfied with his explanation, he turns to Jelly. "Or that's what I think. What do you think?"

Much better, he said. Well, it pretty much is, but too be honest the top portion of the dress was getting annoying and... too revealing. There were perverts in the hovel, or so she heard. Regardless, she comes with Percy as they rent a room, and as to be expected there were whispers around them everywhere. What, they haven't seen businessmen come here before?
Percy then discusses their plans, and Jelly nods, listening. Well, seems like a good enough plan, especially all that pressuring and stuff. However, she felt like there was something else they should do aside from this. The girl grins as he shows her the pouch filled with money, before nodding.
"Yeah, I think everything's good." She answers after he asks her opinions. "However, should we just appear before them normally or do we sneak in their quarters and perform the operation once we're finally in? And whose secretary am I supposed to be hired to, you or the boss?" She asks some more questions, raising an eyebrow with a questioning look to Percy.
Sometimes she just doesn't understand things, so best ask some questions before doing the operation, no?
Post by percival grayreme on Oct 4, 2018 8:24:12 GMT
Percy pauses for a moment to think about that. What would be the better option... He closes the briefcase as he thinks of the answer. "I say we work for another boss, and that we're a team," the brunette decides. As for the question of whether they should appear normally or sneak in, Percy carefully picks the answer based on their abilities. Would they both be able to sneak in, or will it only be one of them?
"Say, do you know the invisibility scroll? It's the first scroll of the Illusionist's Handbook." Percy knows this one, but he is unsure whether Jelly knows it, too. "Ah, and also the cloaking scroll." That one is necessary in order to hide their power completely and make it seem like they were just ordinary citizens looking to start a lucrative business deal. Come to think of it, it doesn't really matter if Jelly knows the invisibility scroll. They could probably scout and get in through unconventional ways.
"Ah," Percy backtracks. "How about we do this--you appear before them normally while I use the invisibility scroll to get in with you. You use the cloaking scroll. Then, when it's time for my appearance, I'll just go back outside and pretend like nothing's happened. How does that sound?"
That seems about the right path to take. Even if they have a purifier or an athenian, it is highly unlikely that they will act right on hand. Percy would have to watch carefully before he makes an appearance. Jelly would be the first in line of fire, so to speak, and Percy has the coven duty to protect her--and ensure that this mission is a success.
That, plus he's her boyfriend. Pretty simple.

She listens to Percy at his decision as to what they should be in disguise, and after he is done speaking, she hums and nods in approval. Them being on the same team seems good enough. It would probably be bad if Jelly went alone as a secretary of a separate boss, and Percy from another boss, since that would probably raise some suspicions from the Circle. "...Yeah, I'll agree to that. It would probably work out fine." She states with a smirk.
Then they talk about how they would get in or sneak into the Circles; Percy asks if she knows about the cloaking scroll, or the invisibility scroll. Jelly does remember having one of those in her inventory... she nods in response to this question. "Yes, I do have the cloaking scroll." Too be honest, they could always go in through the most stealthiest way possible, but using one of those scrolls wouldn't be as bad; in fact, it would be much better to avoid any more hassle while they are in the process of entering.
Percy then tells her a new part of the plan, and Jelly listens to him intently. Hmm, makes sense. Maybe since one of them owned each of the scrolls... that would make things much easier then. "Sounds good to me." She agrees with a smile and a nod.
It was a risky move, but worth a shot; the Circles might suspect her to be a person who isn't one of their associates at all, but she's got Percy here. And while Jelly could defend herself just fine, the witches over in the Circle are much more stronger than her, so she hoped he better not run away if ever a fight was to break in.
Seems unlikely. The guy was more than loyal to her.
Jelly then turns to him and raises an eyebrow. "Wait, so what time is it now?" She asks, looking out the window. The sky wasn't clear from her limited line of view, unfortunately. And she hated to admit it, but she wasn't paying attention to the time when she got here. "I just wanted to make sure when we'll actually strike; tomorrow or today."
Post by percival grayreme on Oct 18, 2018 11:43:28 GMT
So that settles the plan. Jelly has the cloaking scroll, while Percy has the invisibility one. "All right, that settles it. Practice your lines," Percy says. He stands up and starts smoothing his button-down. "I'll be right behind you, but you'll seem like you're on your own."
Instead of getting ready however, Jelly asks when they would strike. Hmmm, that is a good question. In response, Percy seeks the nearest window, but unfortunately, it does not open so he cannot see the sun outside. The pale glass reflects light, however, and with that Percy has to base his judgment. "It's just past noon," Percy decides, looking at the faint golden sunlight, reflected by the cracked marble floor. "We make our way to the Circle in thirty minutes. Get ready now."
Originally, Percy plans to finish the task this afternoon. Jelly mentioning "tomorrow" gives him another idea. "I guess... our work will depend on how cooperative the Circle is. You would try to be as patient as possible, while I would play the irritable deputy. If they wish to extend until tomorrow, then we have this room to stay. But we absolutely shouldn't reach tomorrow's dusk."
The Leviathan has been speaking on a somewhat serious tone, and only now did he realize. He flashes a signature smile. He trusts Jelly. The girl's a fighter. She only has one weakness, water, as far as Percy knows. Well, technically it would make him her greatest enemy... she's really lucky Percy is her ally. "But don't worry. I'm sure we would ace this. Is this your first mission of this kind? You know what I mean."

Comparing what she has to say to the Circle as "lines" would probably be similar to praticing her lines in a play. Jelly, at least, finds it funny that way, but she does know exactly what she means. "Yes, sir." She simply states with a chuckle, saluting. "Don't worry, I've already worked my mind to what I should say to them."
The time is probably one of the most important things that they both should know. The Leviathan had given them quite a limited time to finish this mission, after all, extending only until tomorrow. So when Percy tells her it's just past noon, she flinches. "Shoot. We better hurry with this, then. Thirty minutes to attack the Circle is good." She tells him, nodding at the thirty minute statement.
Jelly, in particular, is good at distracting others at least, but not portraying herself as someone else. So when Percy tells her that she'll be a patient secretary, of all things -- he did say 'patient as possible, but it's the same difference' -- her eyes grow wide slightly. Then she nods and chuckles to herself. "Wow. That's quite ironic, yet brilliant. I love it." She's not particularly good at portraying herself as a different person, but she will try just for this mission.
She flinches once again once he mentions the possibility of the Circle wishing to extend, and they have this room to stay if that happens -- she finds herself nodding in understanding at that. But she worries about the time limit, especially once Percy mentions they shouldn't reach until tomorrow's dusk. "Dammit. I just do hope they won't offer us an extend." She looks doubtfully at the young man, starting to bite her thumb nail. "Otherwise, we'd probably get into trouble with the coven if we run out of time."
Percy does tell him that they shouldn't worry, and adds that they could do this. Jelly smiles at this and nods with a determined look. "Of course we can."
He then asks her if this was her first mission of this kind. She's been to another mission before, but she wasn't sure if it would count. "Umm... I went on a mission with another witch before, but I'm not sure if that would count depending on what kind you mean...? So maybe this is my first." She smiles wide with two fingers raised. "If I include the other one, that would make two."
Post by percival grayreme on Nov 2, 2018 13:56:17 GMT
Well, that says something about her. They're not even an hour into this and yet the girl has her part taken care of. He smiles at her silly little salute. He feels it's too formal for someone like him, "Seems like you came prepared," he comments. "Meanwhile, I'm not quite sure what to say yet. Perhaps I'll just wing it out later. But that does not always work." He scratches his head, then, looking sheepish.
And then upbeat, a second later, when the topic changed. "The mistress would kill us if we don't finish on time, sure, but we'll just have to do our best." That's not entirely true, but at the same time it's not very far from the truth. If the Circle doesn't cooperate, though... that scenario is unthinkable, and is not preferable. They have no time to spare.
Percy grins. "Glad you loved it. I came up with it in a whim, oh boy." He has always winged things out, and sometimes it does not work. But what can he do? At least Jelly sees sense in it, and has even corrected and fleshed out irregularities. He sits down then, planning to spend the last minutes chilling. Jelly, however, begins to worry. Percy responds to her visible distress by ruffling her hair. "Come on, now. Look at me," Percy says. There is a certain tone of confidence in his voice and sincerity in his eyes.
"There are many things that can go wrong, we won't deny that. We will try to carry out the plan. If they do take more than a day, then we sneak in at night, gather information, then finish the deal tomorrow as early as possible. Don't worry about it too much--we'll be fine, as long as we work together."
In that little speech, his hand has crept towards Jelly's and he rubs a soothing circle on the back of her hand. He isn't sure if he's actually helping... He sees that Jelly is pretty new at this, and so her concerns are very valid especially in her inexperience. But it does not matter.
"We'll be fine."

Coming to the mission prepared isn't something that Jelly would do, and that is also not something Jelly intends to do. It had come as a surprise when Percy suddenly comments on her "preparedness"; she could only chuckle nervously at this. "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't..." She mumbles in reply, loud enough for him to hear. Too be honest, it wasn't like she was prepared enough, but the lines she had already handled quite fine.
Then she hears him insult himself over his own preparedness, and she lets out an exaggerated gasp. "You? Not able to wing it off? Don't make me laugh! I'm pretty sure you can wing those punks off just fine!" She waves a hand in front of him, a gesture usually performed by the rich. But this was mostly to assure him that he could do it. Because who of all people had led her to that lake without her even suspecting anything?
They then speak about getting in trouble's face if ever they don't finish the mission, as well as whether this was Jelly's first mission. It was also this time when Jelly expresses her nervousness if ever they don't complete the mission in time, or complete it, even. That's when she feels a hand gently ruffling her hair, and she almost squeaks and yells at him to stop as she is not a child anymore.
But then, she ends up listening to him anyway. And his words somehow ease her nervousness. She could also feel the warmth of his hand making itself to hers.
...A sigh escapes her lips and she nods, closing her eyes. "I... I know. I'm just... nervous." She says quietly, glancing up to Percy. A small smile makes its way through her lips as she hears him speak again.
Somehow she isn't sure if they'll really be fine, though.

Well, Percy has prepared for this mission as best as he could. But he only came up with the plan on the very instant he saw Jelly. He has to improvise in accordance to the person he is going to work with. Seeing Jelly actually makes everything easier. He knows her, more or less, and he knows what she is capable. He smirks at her comment. "Yeah, sure, but I bet you'll kick ass more. You have the fighting spirit for it."
He sure hopes, though, that it wouldn't come to that. It'll be best if they stay true to the plan. However there is still space to worry, a space he has hoped to cover, but cannot. He continues to comfort Jelly, and the girl remains mum, nodding slightly, but that's about it. And then, a sigh. Percy feels like he's said enough... and speaking more about it will not calm her--instead, it would make her more anxious.
"Yeah," he says. He says nothing more for a few minutes, instead he just continues to rub soothing circles on the back of Jelly's hand, until they hit the thirty-minute mark.
"Okay, let's go." Percy stands up, picks up his carrier and continues to the door. He holds it open for the lady. "Ready?" he asks. As they exit the building, Percy bids a quick goodbye to the counter. A few more steps out the alleyway, various carriages pass by, drawn by horses, and Percy approaches one. A kind smile to the man in charge. "Hello, yes, two people please. One to the Circle, one to the art museum. Urgent business, please." The man agrees, and he hops down and holds the door open for the two.

She answers to the compliment she was given with a quick nod and a hum of acknowledgement, but she knows deep down that things should come to that. Kicking ass would only expose them to the Circle, and by exposing she meant being discovered that they were both spies to the coven. Now there won't be just the Leviathan left to get angry at that, there would be the Circle, too.
Percy's thumb still rubs against the back of her hand, and for that she is quite relieved and have calmed herself from all this. She's still quite anxious, but still ready to take on the mission. The pinkette smiles softly at Percy and sighs. "I'm fine now, Percy. Thanks." This is followed by a determined look. "We can do this."
It's only after she had made that little speech did they finally hit the thirty-minute mark, and they are ready to go. This is only made evident when Percy reminds her of this. She stands up from the bed and walks along with Percy, momentarily taking one look at the counter Percy had waved to before turning her head back to the door. This isn't a last goodbye. They need to get back here after the first errand, after all.
While Percy is focused on getting a carriage for them, Jelly is busy trying to figure out what to do with her hair; she knows a bright pink would set the Circle off, so best avoid being discovered. "What am I going to do with my hair...?" She mutters under her own breath, holding her long hair up and trying to tie it in a bun. But if it still won't work, then oh well. Best be yourself according to appearance, then.
Once she is first to get on the carriage, she heaves a deep breath and closes her eyes. But something felt off... she turns to Percy with a raised eyebrow. "Wait... who's going to the museum again?" She asks, almost in a hushed voice, so the driver won't hear.
It's times like this when she starts forgetting things. And that is something she truly hates about herself.
