this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.

There it was. The tower left crumbling on one side. It looked like something or someone had smashed into one of the sides of the watchtower. Whatever it was had to be big, strong or highly numbered. Maybe a mixture of the three even. She could see it in the distance. She could hear the fighting even from this small outpost.
There was a man here to inform the small group of their mission. Fight. Win. Survive. He was commanding troops in a makeshift war room tent trying to help stave off the wraiths. They weren't particularly powerful... but numerous. That was the main problem... the source of the tear was thus far not known. They couldn't help inactivate what they couldn't find. It was likely somewhere near the ruined tower as that was the target they seemed to latch onto. His scouts would discover it soon enough. All they needed to do was help keep their attention and kill as many as they could.
"Sounds like my kind of party. Let's start the dying." She hummed as she activated some of her strengthening magic. There were two others with her... both girls not much older than herself. They just needed to fight for as long as possible right? Well might as well help these girls out a bit with some strengthening magic.
She used her starcalling abilities the cast Canus Major on the group. While being shared it wasn't nearly as potent as when she used it alone it still gave a decent boost to both stamina and strength. That coupled with her own Augmentation #1 spell on herself meant she was ready to get punching. She could feel the strength course through her body. Time to start the assault.
"Okay girls, you ready? she asked her group, slamming her closed fist into her open hand as a sign to say she was more than ready. She looked very ready for battle in her fake leather jacket and black pants. She even had her hair tied back for this in order to increase her maximum coolness. Faith who?
She answers the call with eyes burning gold and mana thrumming in her veins, adrenaline and fear and anticipation bursting in equal portions on her tongue. She answers the call threading determination through her bones even when she wants to hesitate, wants to protest that this is not what she is made for, that she is an academic witch primarily, that she has not much offensive to her name. She answers the call with Valkea by her side, finding herself grouped with two other girls around about her age, one that she recognises as being from her coven ( her age, too! ), and the other being Saskia.
Ling waves to the pink haired girl then grins, a little too toothy, a little too fierce to be polite. Uruz glows on her chest, providing strength, providing stamina, and she feels a wash of starcalling magic boosting that more. "Hey," she says, digging into her pouch and pulling out a handful of pre-prepared arrays, holding them out towards the other two. "Take these. They're explosive arrays, primed to explode if you channel some mana into it. Pretty effective, but probably best to get clear first."
And then she smiles, cracks her knuckles, feeling the earth tremour beneath her feet as if eager anticipation. "Right. Let's show them what we can do!"
An explosive thingy? Well that could come in handy when she was out of mana or if she needed to you know set a trap or something. Something told her she wouldnt need it much at all or probably wouldnt use it unless absolutely necessary. She was much more interested in beating the crap out of anything that came her way. She could feel the mana thumping in her veins as both augmentation and starcalling magic coursed through her. Time to get to work.
"I think we just need to clear a good path for the purifiers to get to the rift once they find it. That shouldn't be to hard right? Either of you good with long range attacks? Itd be easier I think to have two do some close range brawling and then the other be backup/ranged attacking. That way there are no surprises ya know?" I mean it wasnt a bad plan. This was the close range fighters could keep the wraiths off the long ranged person mostly by drawing aggro. Anything unexpected comes and the long ranged fighter could see it coming first and intercept or help if one of the close ranged fighters was getting overwhelmed. Easy peasy.
That was for later though. Right now they needed to leave the search for the rift to the army type dudes and just cut a swath towards the tower and kill as many of these things as they could. It shouldnt be that hard right Right.
"Okay. Let's get a move on team!" She said as a small wave of wraith like creatures came towards them. They would start the march towards victory. It was inevitable right? Right. Flames shot out through the young girls mouth as she used her fire magic and Dragon Breath technique to try and thin out the heard that was coming closer to them. Flames licked at the creatures as the girls got ready for battle. Welp time to fight.

[attr="class","ccscroll"]this mission is a far cry from her usual fare. saskia burovski makes her living as a witch engaged in tasks of the more trivial sorts: rescuing stray dogs, delivering parcels, pet-sitting for a kindly old lady down the street. she smiles soft often, and fights seldom. ( seldom, however, is not to say never. )[break][break]
she answers the call hesitantly, with some modicum of disbelief — they want her help? surely, they could do much better — but she answers nonetheless. even as she sets foot on the battlefield, she is quiet, her hand drifting above the hilt of a slender blade, contemplative.[break][break]
there is stillness in her mind, the line of her lips indecipherable as she listens to the mission briefing and the task at hand, her fingers tightening around the grip of the sword; it is familiar and foreign all at once, but it is comforting, like a reunion between old friends. she feels a magic settle warm in her chest as the starcaller summons a constellation, and accepts the array with a grateful nod.[break][break]
“i think,” she says finally, her voice finding strength, “i’ll be more comfortable up close and personal.” she smiles, then, stepping forward with a grin made for war. the battlefield rises before her, a dozen creatures of shadow and smoke, covering the ground between them with more speed than humanly possible.[break][break]
a breath — a sleek white-gold chestplate coalesces from thin air and settles over her form — she raises her sword, battle-hunger glittering in her eyes, and she steps forth to meet her foe.
