this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.

The morning sun was well on its way to midday by time Lenora made it back over to the Helios Knights Hall. Just yesterday she became a fledgling, just like her parents wanted when she was young. They didn't care much now, but maybe if she made a name for herself and brought the family name some fame, they'd pay more attention to her. And every journey has to start somewhere.
After her initiation, Lenora had raced home to share the news. It was met on deaf ears for all except Grandpa, who encouraged her to make some new friends at the Hall. She had protested, nervous about first impressions, and wanted to study more.
But she's easy to convince, and now she's just past the front doors of the impressive building. She was wearing one of her favorite outfits for good luck: a long, pale orange dress that reached her ankles. The pale orange fabric was accented with white stitching and lace, form fitting around her slim torso, and flowy around her bottom half. The cold weather had her wear a thick light cream colored shawl that had an oversized bow securing it together with the inside lined with faux fur. A tan canvas messanger bag was resting on one hip, with the strap hidden underneath the shawl. Simple brown dress shoes, opaque white stockings, and a pale orange beret atop her white hair completed her outfit nicely. All of the orange really accented her bright blue eyes, and the light cream accents almost matched her long white hair.
While she made sure to dress nicely, she didn't have any specific goal in coming here today. Yeah, Grandpa said to make friends, but that was easier said then done. Who should she approach? What should she say? Will they like her?
Realizing she was standing in front of the door and blocking the way, she stepped to the side and leaned against the wall, "Hi, I'm Lenora and I'm new here!" She whispered to herself, practicing her introductions, "No.. Uh.. Hi! I'm a new fledgling and my name's Lenora! Nooo..." As she spoke, her owl familiar Acorn rested in the crook of her bag, dozing in and out of sleep.

She's only been newly appointed one of the novices of the coven. It's such a huge honor, and it makes Emery smile, knowing all her hard work after the years has not been for nothing. However, due to the business of the previous ten days of Saturnalia and her own business elsewhere, she almost forgets her duties in the coven. And one of those such duties, she notes sadly to herself, is being one of the witches in the time of the welcoming of a fledgling.
[break][break]Emery is told the ceremony was held yesterday; she expresses her deepest regrets for not being there, and brings an oath upon herself that she would welcome the fledgling today. And so she walks the paths of the Helios Knights Hall, ready to greet the fledgling, wherever they may be. She has not been informed of a name yet; she would have to find that out later. Rogue, as always, is sitting on her shoulder, observant and alert in case he sees a new face.
[break][break][ and still rather bitter of Emery's change in appearance; yes, it would help her immensely, but he could not help but feel embarrassed that half of his face now belongs to her. well, at least she did not think about putting a cat's nose... that would be more than humiliating. ]
[break][break]She turns a corner, and her ears twitch at a distant sound, only a few more halls away from where she is... mumbling, it seems. She tries to hear the words properly; 'hi', 'new fledgling', and a name she hasn't heard of before... ah, so there she is, the fledgling, practicing her introductions.
[break][break]Emery makes a few more turns until she reaches the fourth hallway, where she finds a girl dressed in bright orange clothes that accent her peach hair and blue eyes. A smile wafts through her lips as she approaches her. "Hello there," She begins, nearing her who was standing by a large door. "You must be the new fledgling admitted into the coven just yesterday?"
Practice makes perfect, and introducing yourself to strangers was no exception. Despite usually failing at first impressions, Lenora continued to practice quietly to herself. Last time she met someone new, before the ceremony, she had accidentally introduced herself with their name. They were kind enough to let her fumble through her corrections, but it didn't help the embarrassment of the moment decrease any. 'Today will be different. I'll make a good first impression and everything!' She thought to herself, eager to boost her own confidence.
A greeting brought her out of her head, and she looked up to see.. cat ears? Well, cat ears and a person. She jumped a bit when she realized she was staring in silence for a second, and rushed her words, "Hello! Yes! I'm fledl- ah, uh, Lenora! I'm the new bird -- no, uh, fledgling!" She practically fell her way through her introduction. So much for practice, huh? "Oof. I, uh.. It's nice to meet you!"
What started off as an introduction with a big, warm smile ended in a red faced fumble of confusion. She looked over at her conversation partner timidly, mentally kicking herself for messing up so massively. But bad moods are bad things, so Lenora found a welcome distraction in noting how pretty her conversation partner's blonde hair was, and how her cat-like features seemed to suit her really well.

Emery and the young fledgling find themselves staring at each other for a few moments, leaving her in a situation she would very much like to get out of. Silence is not her biggest suit. But before she could wave a hand and break the silence, the fledgling beats her to it; although fumbling for words, she -- Lenora, she says this is her name -- still manages to catch Emery's attention, a nod given to every word that comes out of her mouth.
[break][break]Once her introduction is done, she chuckles to herself, bringing a hand up to her mouth. "Hello, Lenora. It's very nice to meet you too." She brings out a hand for the girl to shake. "My name is Emery Argentia, and I was the novice who wanted to meet you today." Rogue, perched on her shoulder, yawns and nuzzles his cheek against the side of her neck.
[break][break]Another awkward silence ensues, at least for Emery, as she hasn't spoken another word after that. Her ears twitch a bit (since either a bug or Rogue might have bitten her) at the sounds of birds in the distance. But, soon enough, Emery maintains her stance, pretending to cough to get both of their attention. "Alright. Shall we start the tour?" She asks, with a pleasant smile on her face. "I believe you've also come here for a little exploration, and you might be lucky to encounter a few Knights as we go along."
