Her childhood was a fickle subject, or rather short-lived. Eira had spent her time following the road that her parents paved for her, the eldest daughter had standards to follow and expectations to meet; though most would question such daunting tasks for a child, she did not and simply accepted her fate– childhood fleeting. Despite well intentioned, her parents were rather absorbed in the appearance of the Vadén family and prideful of their success; they were one of the several prominent families apart of the Helios Knights and she was expected to show the same semblance of concern they held. To her parents, appearance meant everything to them. [break][break]
It was not until she turned the young age of ten before she questioned the values her family seemed to hold dear, they were a stark contrast from what the coven deemed important; righteousness and justice. The foundation that was built underneath her seemed to shake and she was smothered in a feeling of disbelief– the first time she would question her fate. This was the first taste of truth, the first gentle push that coaxed her to discover more than the beaten path she was expected to follow and grow accustomed to. Eira would discover that her family was not the only one consumed by pride and false heroism, she despised the arrogance. She despised their sweet little lies. [break][break]
The values seemed meaningless towards her and the concerns were nothing more than small nagging thoughts, they held no color; they lacked importance to Eira. Yet, she donned a mask for her family and for the coven she was expected to join later on in her life; it was the expectation for the eldest daughter of the Vadén family after all. All her life she had felt hollow, a fake smile gracing her lips to the eyes of her parents and siblings; she wanted nothing to do with them anymore. [break][break]
It was at the age of eighteen when a gentle nudge turned into a push, she was expected to join the ranks of the Helios Knights and she feigned interest with their affairs; she felt like the black sheep among the masses. Eira could sense the divide between herself and others, she was the one to establish the distance. She would eventually reign in her own fate, her life malleable in her hold and without word. She cut the ties between her and her family, seeking the refuge and the truth she longed for.
