starfall crossed the four-month mark a little less than a week ago, and no we were not going strong. neither the staff nor the members had time to post, and for a long while summer and i seriously contemplated closing the site for a hopeful reopening later when we both had more time and wellness.

the stipulated closing was postponed twice in truth, and somehow you have to owe the site's narrow escapes to the fac that both of us were busy- we didn't even meet to talk about closing the site, let alone running it.[break][break]
and somehow that led to an entirely different conclusion- starfall was always was it was because of the members. whether excited or dead (pun intended) tired of our shit, you guys were what made the site worth coming back to at the end of each day even when exams and vacations and real life had exhausted us. staffing the site was not an obligation but something we looked forward to.

and that is why we've decided to let the site continue, for as long as you want it to. because in the end, if it is running slow and our frustrations are running high, that's okay. we cannot always have the site being in a death-enabled frenzy, and it would be unfair to punish the whole of the site because of the pesky complexities of real life.

so this is just a PSA: we're not going anywhere, not anytime soon, unless interest truly dries up.
that being said, the pesky dementors did nearly suck our muse away. as a result, the staff have decided to start fresh. most of our characters will be archived to give us a way to focus on the site, system revamps, plotlines and events, and others. you are free to work out resultant problems with the staff in question. as always, we're happy to help.

to help us out, we are in search of another member of staff. we're looking for someone who is dedicated above all. through experience and activity would be much preferred, just send us a both a pm stating why you're interested, your prior experience, availability ( timezone, mostly for planning and chatting purposes ), and anything else you think we should know.[break]

another change has been implemented by the suggestion of kasimir burovski ✨ , in that item usage will now be accumulating instead of pre-determined for missions. this means that you can choose which 5 items to use in a mission or event thread as the thread progresses, but you will need to make note of each use and not go over five unique items.

from now on, all NPC threads will have an estimated response interval of 48hr hours (give or take) and failure to respond will result in interactions cut short or the NPC exiting the thread.

a huge thank you to our members for your survey responses- the next death enabled event will have more clear cut and hopefully less situational/vague directions. mechanisms will be put in placeto avoid whole wipes unless intentionally kept at a very high difficulty level. as usual, a listing of the risk and reward will go up during or before the event sign ups so keep on the lookout! we will try to implement all your suggestions.
