this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.
hello and welcome to the commencement of the triennial empyreal cup! this is the first round of the dueling tournament, and the matchups are:[break][break]
ICly, the dueling format will be that of "the last strike", which you can read about here. it is also advised for members to refamiliarise themselves with the lore of magic and battling. in summary, dueling is not death enabled, all competitors must use wands, familiars must remain materialised (dematerialisation results in an automatic defeat for the witch in question), and the victor is the one who is able to "make magical contact with the opponent given that contact is not returned within ten seconds of being afflicted".[break][break]
OOCly, you can fight however you like - staff will not moderate your threads unless deemed truly necessary ( please play fair guys, we trust you ). the character marked (s) has 72 hours to start the thread, which must be set in the helios knights’ hall and titled "[TEC ROUND 1] character vs character". the starter MUST include some kind of magical attack, not just opening banter - and no ominous stalking of any kind. the opposing character has 48 hours to respond.[break][break]
the second respondent must tag spring in their post, after which staff will LOCK both characters' inventories to ensure fairness. no further staff tags are required until the seventh post (not counting the starter), wherein the poster must again tag spring.[break][break]
again, each subsequent poster has 48 hours to respond. failure to respond will result in an automatic loss. the thread does NOT have to reach a conclusion however, and members are in no way required to pick a victor or conclude the duel. instead, threads will be locked when they reach 7 posts and will be judged for the quality of all posts minus the starter. staff will determine the victor of each duel after the tourney concludes.[break][break]
