Obelisk is small. For Jelly, he's probably the smallest familiar she has ever seen in her life (a source of Obelisk's annoyance. Obelisk is much smaller than the palm of a person's hand. He could materialize into something much bigger if time comes for it, but then again, he could only grow to the size of an average dog.
[break][break]He avoids doing this for so many reasons, however. One of them is his limited exposure to water. As a sea bunny, it's only natural for him to want to stay in water (if forever counts, that is more than fine). He can always get out of it and stay in land, of course, but breathing in land is limited. For about fifteen seconds he will demand to be taken back to the water for him to breathe. That's why he prefers to stay in Jelly's fishbowl during missions.
[break][break]Obelisk is loyal. He would not sway the orders of his witch no matter what the cost. But he is occasionally grumpy, and a huge grouch to begin with. He displays this attitude to strangers, but once he gets to know them he would be just as kind as he is to Jelly. He also has a rather dark sense of humor, something Jelly absolutely likes about him.

jelly is able to change her hairstyle to various styles and colors through the help of this item. despite the original scroll's instructions, the item would only apply to her hair, which would change at her own will. the styles that her hair changes to will vary; she could sport purple bangs with a pink streak, or blonde hair tied to a messy bun. of course, her old hair style remains, but it is one of the styles that would change if she so wishes. because of this spell, she may become unrecognizable to the general public, which is useful at certain situations that call for it. of course, she still has to use the illusionist's new handbook: lunar glamour if she wants to make it seem like she changed her clothes or body parts, but her hair would immediately change according to her will without the said scroll.

The user uses the shadows around the victims(s) to create a cage that traps opponents within. The size and the durability of the cage depends on the skill of the witch - experienced users may be able to target people with great specificity, whereas fledglings are limited in their ability to manipulate the shadows. Like all darkness techniques, this technique works best where there is plentiful shadows, and is more difficult to use when the light is strong.

FEAST OF BUTTERFLIES
TECHNIQUE - DARKNESS
The witch creates a swarm of black, butterfly-like shapes that collect around the intended target. They hone in on and encircle the chosen target to not only obscure their senses, but also to bite down on the witch they are attacking. The quantity, range, and focus of the butterflies depend on the skill of the witch. When 'killed' they dissipate into black smoke.

This scroll gives the witch knowledge on the manipulation of pain. It can only be used against one opponent, and the extent of the effects depends on the psyche of the victim. If the victim is successful in “blocking” the illusion - by believing that they were not harmed by the illusion - they need not feel any pain at all.

A witch using this scroll can hide their magical presence from detection. Other than being immune to a WITCH’S INTUITION, it also grants their magic a sense of “unpredictability” - their magical style will be harder to place and more difficult to become attuned to. It makes their steps quieter, masking their overall presence as well. They are far from invisible or silent, however. Application of this scroll is also extremely easy and practically passive - although the witch may choose to remove its effects should they want. It can also be used to make monsters indifferent to the witch.

This illusion causes the target to begin hearing fragmented voices that no one else hears. An illusionist can make the target hear reflections of their own thoughts or fears, or can come up with their own messages and lines. Beginners often find that their illusions are rather obvious and unconvincing. Some illusionists, however, have innovated with this spell and used it for communicating with allies when they don’t want to be overheard.

this illusion is designed specifically to be cast onto a weapon, causing its position when wielded to not match up where it is physically. sword swings may seem faster (or slower) than they actually are, the course of a spear may seem to be off the mark, and who can even pretend to predict the trajectory of those flails? though the wielder will need to learn how to fight properly by touch rather than sight, this makes it incredibly challenging for their opponent to block properly. this can be cast in the heat of battle as a temporary effect, or cast as a ritual onto a weapon, causing it to last as long as the weapon does.

this illusion shifts the target’s sense of balance, making it feel like gravity has somehow changed. fledglings often find the effect of their illusion is quite slight - though even a small shift in perception of gravity can be very disorientating - but experts can make it seem like gravity has completely flipped upside-down. the maximum duration and range of the illusion depends on the experience of the witch.

creates stardust clones of the user. these dark, twinkling clones cannot use mana and appear obviously inhuman, but are able to touch and use physical attacks. the strength of the witch determines how many clones can be created at once, how strong they are, and how long they last -- at novice rank, 2 clones of average human strength for a handful of minutes is standard. after being moderately damaged, they disintegrate into stardust.

Though it seems like a simple keepsake, this item will serve as your character’s lifeline in the face of imminent peril. When the bearer’s mana reaches critical levels, all items made similarly will begin to glow as a mass signal is sent to witches of your coven, allowing them to come to your aid should anything happen. SEEKER'S RECURVE BOW

This recursive bow is decorated with a smooth-surfaced moonstone on the inside of its wooden limb, facing the archer who's wielding it. Whenever an arrow is fired from this bow, the view from the arrow's tip is projected onto the face of the gemstone, allowing the archer to get a closer, albeit brief, view at their targeted area. The stone will continue to project the image until a new arrow is fired, or until 15 minutes pass (whichever comes first). Even so, not much can be gleaned when the tip of the arrow is embedded in the ground or an enemy's body.

This necklace reduces the presence of the wearer in forested areas or locations with a high density of plants. The wearer will not leave tracks, nor a scent trail, nor sounds of movement. They become difficult to notice even when they aren't actively attempting to hide. This even works on wraiths when in a wooded area, and is key to traversing the deepest parts of the wilds unharmed.

An unassuming shard of selenite, no larger than a human thumb. The material will absorb poisons and impurities of a non-magical or weakly magical nature from its surroundings, visibly darkening the more it absorbs. Such shards are used often by world leaders and high-visibility personalities when they're offered a drink in a crowd, simply dropping it in their cup and waiting a few seconds before taking a sip. Be aware that it also purifies alcohol, so it isn't very fun at parties!

(this focus bolsters the power of any spells with synthesis potential of the selected affinity. the witch's rank is treated as if it were 1 rank higher when creating or upgrading items of this affinity themselves in the workshop.)

This accessory is made from a string of round, greyish beads which were carved from the bones broken off from the legendary Jhar in battle. Strangely, despite the Jhar's strong anti-familiar aura, this item actually enhances elemental abilities and eases their mana consumption when worn by a familiar. Unlike most magical items, it can be carried by a familiar when they de-materialize and return to their native strata.

by magically augmenting a small sapling, it can be made to seal up an open wound when it comes in contact with blood. the plant will stitch up the wound with its roots, and release chemicals to reduce the person’s pain. the plant will eventually detach itself from the person when the wound is fully healed, but this sometimes takes days. removing the plant forcefully will, unfortunately, tear the wound back open.

SUNSPEAR EMBER

The legendary Sunspear wielded by Naseera Shaer, one of Sundial City's founders, was thrown once again in recent memory following the temporary reanimation of her peacefully entombed body in Eclipse Town's catacombs. Embers from this weapon are notoriously resilient, remaining alight even when in contact with ice and water. When mana is pushed into one of these embers, it will burst into a small firestorm, roughly 5 meters in diameter and 3 standard building stories in height, afterwards rendering the ember ashen and inert. Note that these embers can be used as a dim light and meager source of heat without expending one of its limited uses.

it starts with a compliment. she'd sat on a bench to watch the ice skaters' movements on the rink, and the next thing she knew she praises a young skater for her efforts and ends up being offered lessons and taught to skate by that same skater, kaelin ó'coileáin, who becomes a good acquaintance, a friend, even. she's grateful to be introduced to a new hobby, however, try as she might, she has minimal knowledge of skating and is not sure if it would ever be a good hobby for her to take. kaelin has taught her well, and she thanks her for that, however jelly is not so much of a fast learner. better luck next time, then, but she'll keep trying... if she had the motivation, which is unlikely.
