this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.

Although Eclipse Town was Dami’s favored destination for finding her exotic items and trinkets, the young summoner couldn’t deny that even Sundial had specimens worth examining. The city of her birth, Sundial was an easy place for the witch to navigate and she knew the best shops in which to curb her desire for a shiny and potentially rare artifact. Candamius couldn’t help collecting such things; it was one of her vices. Her room was filled with trinkets of all types and sorts. Despite her love for shiny objects, she was also particularly shrewd and she had a tendency to haggle with the merchants. Some didn’t like it, but Dami could usually coax them in dropping their price a little. [break][break] Dressed in simple, nondescript robes, Dami found her way to one of her favorite shops. The merchant had a keen eye and had a good selection of things. The only downside was their keen eye also made them particularly shrewd and knowledgeable of the items they sold in their shop. This particular merchant always only dropped their price by only a few coins, despite Dami’s faithful business. She hoped that, one day, they might give her a discount, but she couldn’t necessarily hold her breath. [break][break] With a quiet sigh, Dami brushed away the slight pout that had morphed her mouth and put on a gentle smile, forcefully shifting her mood to be bright and spirited. If she walked in with a sense of defeat, she likely would leave defeated. If she entered with an upbeat attitude, she could probably coax her “favorite shopkeeper” into dropping their price a smidge. Yes, she had to remain optimistic! That is what she told herself, a strong sense of determination sweeping over her. [break][break] Unfortunately, she was so wrapped up in her own self-encouragement that she hadn’t been paying attention to what was going on in front of her. It happened—more often than Dami cared to admit. She walked straight into another person. A gasp of surprise escaped her mouth as she stumbled back a bit. The impact wasn’t particularly hard, but she wasn’t particularly solid in comparison to most people. [break][break] Rubbing her nose, as she had smacked it straight into the person in front of her, she looked up at her latest victim. Blush flooded her cheeks and she looked down ashamedly. “I beg your pardon. I wasn’t paying attention. I’m very sorry. Are you alright?” The apology tumbled from her mouth, genuine but still practiced.
[attr="class","victoriousscroll"]He couldn't help but walk around Eclipse Town once again.
It had been a long travel by train before he finally came to the said town; by now he'd finally realized how many distances Eclipse Town was from Sundial. It was definitely not reachable by foot, or at least one wouldn't get there by foot for just one day. His thoughts went back to when he slept just by a tree near the town, and how Zephyr had found him and helped him get home.
The portal which brought me here... I couldn't remember if we found it or not.
But as the train stopped to a halt, a signal that they have finally arrived at the town, the young man's thoughts finally melted away into oblivion. He stepped outside and looked around; this wasn't the town he saw some months ago when he got lost. But it was nice to finally have a change of atmosphere.
He now decided to walk around for a bit, finding the aura of the town surprisingly peaceful today; the downtown in particular was rather populated with a handful, but not as crowded as Downtown Sundial a few miles away. Truth be told, Eclipse Town is actually a wonderful place--
Caleb was brought back to reality when a stranger's shoulders collided with his; he quickly whips his head to the young woman who was the stranger in question. Now she was apologizing to him, asking if he was okay, and Caleb wasn't sure whether to speak with her in this mute condition or not; she would probably not understand what he's saying.
...But it's worth a shot.
He chuckles silently and takes out his notebook, writing somethig for her to read before showing her what he had written.
It's fine, really. It said. I'm quite alright. No need to apologize.
Hope you don't mind this boy sticking into the thread~

The smile on the stranger’s face did bring Dami some relief. It was difficult to tell how people in Downtown Sundial were going to respond to such a small accident. A person might have easily suspected of her pickpocketing or trying to. It wasn’t an uncommon accusation for these parts, especially in the marketplace. It was hustling and bustling and a great place for a thief to find some worthy prizes. Fortunately, her victim wasn’t the suspicious kind, or so it seemed. She was thankful for that.
When he pulled out his notebook, though, she became curious and her expression shifted from relief to worry. Was he making a note to report her later or something? She began to fidget and fuss with her robe as she waited for him to speak. Part of her was telling her to run, but that would only make her look guilty of actually stealing something—which she hadn’t done.
Confusion was writ on her face when he flipped the notebook for her to see and then her eyebrows raised in surprise. Could he not speak? She wondered quietly to herself, glancing up from the text to his face for just a moment. She decided not to overthink it and smiled brightly instead.
“Thank goodness!” she replied, allowing relief to finally wash over her, a wide smile on her face. “I’m so clumsy,” she confessed ruefully, blush tinging her cheeks again. “I sometimes get carried away with thinking that I don’t pay attention to where I’m going,” she further explained.
“Are you sure you’re alright?” she asked again, feeling as if she owed him something in someway.
@caleb, not at all! I'm happy to have these two meet! ^ 3^

[attr="class","victoriousscroll"]Caleb catches her worried expression when he had been writing in his notebook, and he smiles softly, before continuing to write. It's only ever expected of others to be worried why a person suddenly decides to talk from a notebook, but too be honest he never expected her to be. Caleb has experienced people ridiculing him for his inability to talk, while some are quite respectful about it; she is one of the latter kind of people who met him.
Once he had shown her his notebook, she seems to sigh in relief before calling herself clumsy, adding that she wouldn't always pay attention because of her being carried away by different thoughts. The young man giggles silently and writes once again. He is done writing a reply in less than seconds, and he shows it to her once more.
Don't worry, I may be more clumsier than you.
Then she asks him once more if he is truly alright, adding that she felt she owed him something out of that. Trust me, I'm fine. No need to worry. There is nothing you owe to me. He reassures her once more, nodding. In fact, I'm concerned about your well-being as well. I bumped back into you, after all.
