this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.

Anass thought there was one thing that he actually loved in this world more than anything, and that was stars. Stars were kind of something that couldn't really just up and vanish on you, so it was something he felt he could depend on. He was in the observatory, someplace he'd never thought to go to before entering Silvertongue because of just how.....uncultured? he felt.
He was enjoying himself, perfectly content, before he felt the hand on his shoulder. He turned, expecting maybe someone who wanted to use the telescope or something. Certainly not dark hair, blue eyes, and a strong jawline. He blanched before schooling his expression against the harsh smile tossed his way, a wry smile of his own worming its way onto his face.
"Jeremy."
Next thing he knew he was pinned to the wall, crowded into a small space. He pushed against Jeremy's chest and scowled, fingers curling into claws. Movement momentarily distracted him over Jeremy's shoulder but he quickly moved his gaze back to Jeremy's face and he pushed outward, a rush of water following him in a slightly impressive display of witchcraft.
"Fuck off and leave me alone dickhead."
His elbows shook as he kept his arms raised and Jeremy groaned on the ground, and Anass raised his gaze to meet the gaze of someone he....recognized. Shit.

[attr="class","cali1Post"]Anair had just thought to go to the observatory to get away for a little while. A little r&r after a hard day at work dealing with all his coven members and trying to act like they didn’t completely make his skin crawl. Okay perhaps that was a bit harsh, they didn’t all make his skin crawl and he didn’t hate all of them. There were admittedly a few members of the clan he actually liked but he wasn’t in the best mood and to top it off he was sore. Under his clothing and beneath the bandages that wrapped his limbs were bruises and cuts from his father’s latest lessons and tests. The man always had to make sure Anair was at the top of his game and if he didn’t feel like Anair was where he needed to be skill wise…he’d “polish” him up as his father put it. During those times, he always had to keep a tight rein on Blair because he could sense how badly she wanted to put the man in his place.
So now as he wandered the observatory aimlessly, ignoring the ache of his body like he did most days, he allowed himself to drop a little of his guard and just explore his own being. It was an experience he rarely allowed himself but when he did it always filled him with a little bit of wonder. He generally didn’t pay much attention to his emotions, it was too dangerous to do so while he was still tied to his father and leviathan. After all the slightest slip could ruin everything he’d been trying to do for the past few years…
He was broken out of his thoughts though when his aimless wandering brought him to a scene and person he hadn’t been expecting to see. He blinked when he recognized Anass, the younger male having made a lasting impression and once again he was making another. He had been about to step in to help in a rather sticky looking situation but the male seemed to be completely capable of taking care of himself. When Anass finally actually looked at him he could see the recognition in that gaze and he was amused by the greeting. Instantly and out of reflex he popped on a rather amused grin, this one a little more real than his usual masks as he walked closer. Amber eyes glancing down at the man on the floor as he said cheerily, “I really would get out of here if I were you. It’d be terrible if you disappeared.”
It was a passing comment, flippantly delivered but an underlying threat no less. Which could have been amusing considering how possibly banged up he may appear, he was sure there was still probably even a cut at the corner of his lips from where he father had landed a hit. He cocked his head at Anass in a curious manner and chirped, “Is that how you’re going to greet me from now on?”

Luckily for Anass, Jeremy seemed to get the hint. Jeremy scrambled to his feet and with one final glare at Anass, ran off out of the observatory. The floor was soaked but finally Anass sagged against the wall and sucked in a deep breath, unused to such displays as weak as they may seem. A fledgling he sure as hell was considering his lack of power. He'd get there though one day, that was for damn sure.
"Well hey you got a nice face, be a shame to call you anything but."
He lazily glanced over Anair and winked, a small smile twitching at his lips before settling back into his customary resting bitch face. Poppy fluttered down from her space in the tops of the observatory, down all the way to Anair's shoulder where she tweeted at the newcomer. Anass rolled his eyes as the sweatered rock martin tried to make a new friend, and shook out his arms.
"If your wondering, or assuming, that was Jeremy. Two out of two 'discreet' heavy handed clients. I'm a damn delicate flower and I'm sure to bruise by morning now..."
Rubbing his wrists he scowled, and just thanked his lucky stars he wasn't feeling enough emotion to start hiccuping. Curiously though he glanced at Anair and eyed him over, tweeting to Poppy.

[attr="class","cali1Post"]The amber eyed male noticed the instant sag and tiredness the younger male displayed once the soaked male scurried away like a mutt with his tail between his legs. Anair categorized it and considered how quickly his father would have attacked him for showing such weakness before reminding himself that this person was not in the position he was. With that though he tuned in to what Anass was saying and quirked an eyebrow, his amused grin still curling his lips just as he was taken by surprise when Anass’ familiar suddenly plopped down on his shoulder. There was an instant of surprise that flickered along his features before his grin came back and he absently stroked under her chin, careful with her feathers as he said jovially, “Well then I suppose I should take that as a compliment and simply run with it as they say, yes?” ‘That is certainly one way of putting it.’, Blair purred out in amusement as she melted from the shadows near them as though she’d always been there. She eyed the avian on Anair’s shoulder with a hungry look in her eyes just as Anass introduced the night man who made such a big scene when it was clearly unnecessary to do so. Amber eyes flickered to Anass as Anair said in quite an amused voice, “My, you do keep quite the interesting company.” He held out his hands and nudged his chin towards the wrists the slightly smaller male was rubbing, “Here, let me see them.” His voice and look was expectant as he watched Anass, waiting to be allowed to get ahold of his wrists to examine them.
Blair knowing what he intended moved closer, entwining with his legs with a pleased purr as she too waited. Anair tilted his head to the side curiously at the question before he said mildly amused, “I could ask you the same thing. After all, what do people usually do here?” He quirked an eyebrow, grin once more dancing along his lips. “I was led to believe people come here to look at the stars and wonder about their daily lives and how insignificant they appear to be compared to the vast universe.” While his tone had made it seem he was making a mockery of it, there was a flash of truth underneath the tone…not that he would ever openly admit that.

Poppy noticed the predatory stare being directed in her direction, and nervously fluttered on her new perch. The sweater prevented much movement, and Anass wasn't much help considering his borderline obsession with the feline now in the room. His gaze fixated on her and had he not been relatively injured he'd have run his fingers through her fine fur. However, Poppy, seeing no immediate threat when she wasn't directly attacked only proved to snuggle closer to Anair comfortably, and tweeted something....supposed to be encouraging.
Anass glared at her and angrily tweeted back, a soft and relatively pleasant sound, before glancing back at Anair with slight suspicion. He hesitantly raised his wrists so that Anair could touch them, the skin already starting to mark up.
"Well I don't keep it on purpose anymore that's for damn sure."
He replied very dryly. He shot a weak glare at the other before rolling his eyes, wondering why he expected a serious response. He kind of hated that he'd been caught so off guard again, especially having to show his display in front of Anair who he thought he'd never see again so....there was that...
"Yeah yeah. The stars are the only constant we have right? The only thing that really stay in the sky, even if they're all pretty much dying we still can't see it until years later. But that's just one reason I guess."
He glanced up with a wondering expression, his face almost peaceful and at rest.

[attr="class","cali1Post"]Anair knew Blair wouldn’t jump for the bird…yet, so he wasn’t quite concerned about the bird on his shoulder getting injured. It was…playful teasing in a way but also a rather possessive quality the feline had at seeing another familiar so readily perching on him. However, he gave Blair a mild look and she eased enough that he felt safe to pet the little bird on the feathers under its beak when it snuggled closer. His eyes saddled back and forth between the bird and the male when they tweeted back to each other before quirking his eyebrow in mild amusement at the brunet before him. It would be Anass decision whether he wanted Anair to examine his wrists and potentially help make it better. However, he was mildly surprised when the younger male hesitantly lifted his wrists to him and he blinked for a moment before accepting them.
Slowly a small pool of wispy shadows formed just above his hands before he gently took Anass’ wrists, the misty wisps slowly curled around the bruised area as tendrils gently poked and soothed the area with coolness. Anair had only done this once before and the person had told him they could barely feel it and what they did feel was the barest sensation of cold air. This was just an initial probe though so Anair didn’t need much concentration as Blair was mostly the one focusing on her, her eyes swirling with blue grey color as she stared where their skin met. So, he was free to speak on the stars and universe…and he was quite surprised to hear Anass reply.
He gave the male a long considering look, “I wouldn’t say boring…more like unexpected to hear. However, I suppose you have a valid point.” Anair’s eyes briefly flickered to the sky, considering it for a moment before looking back and deciding to give a semi-serious answer this time. “I come here from time to time when I need a calm place or if something goes wrong. It is a good place to distract one’s self.”
Blair softly touched the toe of his shoe alerting him that the assessment was done, he looked back at the shadows and they pulled back so that they no longer looked like swirling bracelets as they wrapped around his own wrists. He considered the information he got from them before he asked, “I may be able to help so long as that is alright with you?” Had the situation been different…had they not been in amicable conversation he’d not be so willing to use his ability in such a healing manner…as such this was something he’d found out away from the prying eyes of his father.

Anass was very reluctant to admit there was an electric shock that ran down his spine when Anair touched him. So reluctant in fact,t hat when he thought about it he vehemently refused to acknowledge it. He grit his teeth as the cooling shadow settled over him, though he couldn't help but twitch his hands at the hold.
"Well, the stars are pretty and make you feel rather small and insignificant. Plus it's almost like your coven doesn't matter when you come here, not that it's a big deal anyway."
For most people anyway. Anass was stupidly protective of keeping his to himself, potentially because he didn't care to be judged. He was so....tired for once. His shoulders sagged slightly as the pain lessened suddenly. But when Anair took his hands away it flared again and he bit his tongue harshly, rubbing them roughly to try and alleviate some of the ache.
"I mean....if you're willing then sure, I wouldn't mind. He has a rather tough grip."
He eyed Anair critically but offered his hands again, and distracted himself by staring up at the sky once more.
"You must think I'm an idiot."
He frowned slightly, feeling so frustrated with himself. He couldn't even do a simple healing spell for crying out loud, and here he was with someone he'd met on less than stellar terms letting him heal his damn wrists.
