[attr="class","liebody"]The midsts of Sundial city were usually always busy in some way or form; commonly populated by her coven–members or innocent Salem residents taking solace in the bustling crowds, she enjoyed the hustle of a preoccupied place in time because it always gave her something to think about or focus on. There’s never a dull moment here, she would muse pleasantly to herself each time she was homebound after spending much of her time studying inside of the Sun Café.
Yet when it rained, it seemed like a heavy blanket of nothingness rose from the depths and made the world quiet except for the raindrops pelting the ground heavily.
There was only a sparse few people on the streets, darting to and fro to reach their destinations and out from the sudden downpour. Thankfully Ma Thi was prepared more or less; her bright pink umbrella twirled jauntily with each step she took. She always felt more at peace when surrounded by water, though the familiar comfort of a crowd was gone and replaced with a longing emptiness that desired to be filled, to be whole again.
Ma Thi had grown as a person, but wearing her heart on her sleeve had never left her once.
Feeling a bit disheartened, the young woman trudged on down the deserted street, pulling her peacoat more tightly over her body with a shiver. Was the sudden chill caused by the draft the rain made? Ma Thi begged to differ entirely at the mere thought — it was more than that, but placing a finger on the culprit was impossible. An icy claw on her heart, tugging and wanting it to break under pressure. And with a sharp inhale through her nose and breathy exhale from her lips, she kept walking with her eyes focused forward, thinking of warm, heartfelt things like her step–mother’s cinnamon cookies and memorable hugs from a family long gone.
