You were always so petite, you were always so frail. You were sheltered, loved, and most importantly put on the highest of the highest pedestals. Your family was wealthy, you were their gem. With burning amber eyes and locks of lavender, you were expected to do all that you could, nothing less was expected of you, and you couldn't give them a horrible performance. No, no you couldn't. Not like your sister, who failed them to the point she ran off. You remember playing the piano, the bleeding on your wrists from the harsh snaps thrown at you by your teachers and parents. You can remember the tears you've shed, the papers you've drenched and the fits of frustration at your own useless, worthless self. [break][break]
They tried to break you, really they did. They couldn't care less about what you wanted, they couldn't care less about what you liked or what was the best for you. No, the greedy adults were always thinking about what was good for them. As a result, you were always at the short end of the stick. Yes. You got awards, you've grown skills and your academic prowess was far beyond the expectations of any regular child. To the world, you were the golden daughter. Your family was the golden family - a good marriage, wealthy, and they had a skillful daughter who was soon labelled to be daddy's little princess. Yes, you were a princess. You were always the little princess that wasn't allowed outside of the castle. You were always the little princess who just couldn't seem to do anything for herself, because everyone did it for you. All you had to do was sit there, smile, wave and look pretty. [break][break]
You just had to look pretty.[break][break]
