this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.
Lazarus stood with his hands tucked into the pockets of his slacks. He wasn't sure how long he'd been standing there but it was long enough for him to realize that he analyzed every inch of the building's outer frame and was still speechless. Very little changed of the Helios Knights' headquarters and to his dismay, there would be little change for some years to come. Bagheera chose to stay hidden for their little excursion. If they were to show themselves, it would surely have given him away and that wasn't something that could be done.
Other citizens continued their trek to their destinations and the amount of noise they were making made an uproar which could've drowned out his train of thought. That was if there wasn't a storm occurring inside of his mind which drowned out the world around him. He leaned back on the balls of his feet and looked up at the sky. Distantly, he could recall a time where he looked up and things were different but that was a time long past.
Are you alright?
He could feel a wetness against his elbow but when he reached out to touch, there was nothing. Bagheera's way of encouraging him or at least checking on him, he supposed. He lifted his shoulders and turned away from the hall while making his way into the crowd.
He'd be okay soon. Perhaps not today or tomorrow but soon, he'd be alright.
Lazarus' footsteps carried him further away but the uproar in his mind grew louder and louder. So loud that he didn't realize until he missed a step that someone had knocked into him. He glanced over his shoulder and the uproar quieted almost instantly.

Percy was trekking his way home, having been thrown out once the medics considered his condition "cautious." It was unfortunate that they had to be informed of his.....well they called it a "condition" which made him feel awful. Glumly he trudged down the street, away as fast as he could from the HQ, and got lost in his own thoughts. He nearly walked into a street sign but managed a nice dodge, and sighed as Cassi peeked out from his hood.
"Yeah I know..."
He replied as she chittered to him. The baby sugar glider yawned and trailed back to sleep, and Percy pinched the bridge of his nose. He was internally groaning, at least he was until he knocked into someone rather harshly. It jarred him back into reality, and Cassi woke with a squeak.
"Ow what...."
He glanced at the guy he'd knocked into with a slightly shy smile, heart seizing in his chest.
"Oh hey no problem just...I was distracted too you know?"
He cursed as his voice cracked, and was it just him or did it sound higher than usual? His expression fell to one of dismay and he felt his mood crashing.
Lazarus quirked a brow as he turned to face the person that he knocked into. They were a few heads shorter than he was but there weren't many who could stand eye to eye with him. And they seemed rather dejected if the slumped shoulders and unfocused glint to the eye meant anything. All at once, the gears in Lazarus' head began to turn as he weighed the pros and cons of inquiring what could've made the younger male so dejected. It wasn't any of his concern but anything to distract him from his looming discomfort would've been nice.
So you're going to take advantage of a poor boy's woe?
He ignored Bagheera's jeering and concentrated on the youth in front of him, though he had to admit that seeing someone so sad should have been a bit disheartening.
"I see," he said. "Well, if it is all the same to you, I was going to eat lunch."
It was a little stretch of the truth. He wasn't all that hungry but he'd have to make himself eat if he was going to perform later on in the day. Besides, he could at least buy the kid a meal if that would put a smile on his face.
You sound like such an old man.
Quiet.
"As repayment for knocking into you, I'd like you to join me if that is alright."
He gave a quick shrug of his shoulders as if saying that it was his choice in the matter. He'd rather not force someone to come along with him and sometimes acts of good will could be seen as suspicious. But no one could say that he didn't try.

Percy's head tilted curiously. So...he was going to each lunch which was fine but why - oh. He felt his ears burn as he was spontaneously invited to eat lunch with a stranger....but the guy seemed trustworthy enough. He followed Gabriella's advice, trusting his intuition, and nodded slowly. Maybe talking about his problems would help, or distracting himself. He had money of his own, he could insist on paying or repaying the man, and took a step forward to reinforce his statement.
"Yeah.....yeah that'd be nice."
He rubbed his arm slowly and gave the guy a hesitant smile, then jerked slightly. With a rushed movement he held out a hand and gave him a lopsided grin.
"Perseus Fonseca. Pleasure to meet you handsome-stranger-buying-me-lunch."
Out of all the compliments that Lazarus could've thought he'd hear, being called handsome wasn't one of them. It almost reminded him of when he was a boy and his ears would tint red at being called cute. Though during those days, he was far more susceptible to his own emotions and feelings that would show on his face clear as day. But now he'd smile and chuckle softly as Bagheera laughed in the back of his mind.
"Well, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintence Perseus, I am Lazarus."
There weren't many people with his name in Salem. Well, not many that he'd have the pleasure of meeting. But it was his name nonetheless and that was something that he wouldn't allow anyone to take away from him. No matter how much power they possessed.
Pushing aside the thoughts that he'd preferred to stay hidden, he gave Perseus' hand a firm shake.
"Did you have business here?"
He pulled his hand away and turned on his heel, leading the way to a little shop that he knew nearby. Or at least he hoped that it would still be open for business. It'd been some time since he ventured downtown, avoiding the one place that he didn't want to see. At least until he was ready and sure of what was to come.

Lazarus...Lazarus...where had he heard that name before? He pondered this for a second, wondering before realizing. He snapped his fingers, grinning as his eyes lit up and he gasped, gazing up at the taller male with a look of wonder. The man in question he remembered was dead surely, but that didn't mean that they couldn't share the same name right?
"Hey! You share the same name as a guy I like! I mean like, he's...not exactly around anymore honestly, but I really still admire him you know? He was a real hero."
He felt kind of foolish saying it, and turned a little pink, and was somewhat glad for an excuse to change the subject. He stared a bit sadly up at the building he'd come to consider a second home, something he'd loved so dearly only to be currently kicked out due to his problem, and sighed.
"I was in the Helios Knights HQ for a mission but they kind of kicked me out, some medical bull. I'm.....I'm fine though. Totally fine..."
He muttered the last part under his breath, shoving his hands in his pockets and sighing to himself.
