this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.
Tall walls and marvelously intricate ornaments. When she thinks of Phenac now, Eleanor remembers not the faces of her people, but the architectural beauty of the small city she was born in. When she thinks of the oasis town now, she frowns. A plethora of different, often contradicting emotions collide. She knows Phenac was never meant to be her home—she knows that now, because home is wherever her beloved husband is, but still she can't help fearing the detachment with which she now regards the place that saw her cry her first sobs, mouth her first words, crawl and tumble and walk and run.
Does it make her heartless, to not miss her hometown? Does it make her ungrateful?
Eleanor's had been a family that consisted of a single mother, an older brother, and herself. It was not perfect, it was not loving, and more often than not the three of them shared their time only during the few hours that exhaustion-induced sleep took over their bodies, but little Eleanor found she could not complain. Although, even now, adult Eleanor disagrees with her old family's ways, she can acknowledge her mother did the best she could. It was, after all, everything they knew, everything they thought possible, everything they aspired for. That is, of course, until she met him.
The girl had endured so much that she'd been stripped away of her compassion; no longer did she feel sadness nor anger, she was devoid of the very emotions that made her human. She had accepted her place in the world --and at that point, she was no longer an angel.
With her soul broken and humanity gone, they had seized their chance. A demon comes to her and offers another contract. To return to Earth. The girl had learned from her previous lives, that she should just settle once and for all--but she does not. She could never stay for such a terrible life. She knows that the demon does not like to wait, and when they extend their hand, like another contract waiting to be signed, the girl seals it quickly.
With a new pair of black wings, horns, and a forked tail, the girl walks the Earth as a demon. She wanders for centuries; tempting souls to sin, causing many deaths along the way. There is no sympathy anymore for these humans, however, there's no happiness either. It's only her duty. Her life devolves into a routine, for humans are predictable, boring beings. The girl has always hated such idleness, but it is leagues better than where she was before. Sometimes she's summoned, but she's never contracted. She assumes many names, but none of them stick. Her time is often spent lounging around and watching. Waiting.
The girl waits for the day something interesting actually happens.
