this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.

ashes to ashes.
It's midday when Evanora walks into the the bustling cafe, filled with the sounds of indie guitar and the chattering of players in the background. This town has always been busy, and this is no exception; at this, she pushes her way through the multiple bodies blocking her way, and manages to slip into the trailing, messy line.
It doesn't take long. she orders a simple coffee. She needs a little boost for the day--nothing spiced up nor too expensive. The barista happily pings in her order, and with a chirpy smile, she states her price. It's reasonable enough. Evanora pulls out her purse, ruffling through the coins; surprise flickers across her face when she sees that she's just one coin short.
"Ah," She says, "One second."
She turns to the closest person and to her credit, looks slightly sheepish as she talks to them.
"Sorry! But like...would you happen to have a coin to spare?"
Cafe's were so quaint and homey. Roderick adored them for their atmosphere. It put him at ease, made him concentrate to work on books and scrolls. With his own coffee brewed for him, he barely makes it away when a woman asks if he has a coin to spare for a drink. Lumin scoffed, but laughed right afterwards inwardly. Well, if you help her out there is your good deed for the day. Roderick's eyebrows rose a little bit, but nonetheless he fished around for his small coin purse and opened it up to slide a coin her way on the counter.
"Here."
It would be a pitiable shame if a woman can't even get coffee because of a single coin missing for her payment. He looked back to her, a blond little thing. Quite cute actually, but paid little mind else when his little job was done and he could take his place at a table to study in peace.

To her relief, he opens up a coin purse and slides it to her. "Thanks!" She gratefully takes it and slides it to the barista, who pings in her order. She moves to the side, waiting until he's finished with his own.
"Thanks again! I really appreciate it." She says. Someone slides a cup of coffee to her, and she takes it gratefully with both hands. With a little milk and a little sugar, she finds that it's the perfect balance between creamy and bitter.
Evanora looks at him, eyes following his hair and face. It's...actually really pretty. Envious, even. She wonders whether people usually notice how nice it is. She walks around him in a circle and resists the urge to touch and feel it.
With her gratitude having been vocally confirmed, Roderick thought this would be a brief yet mundane end. He was wrong, and he was yet reminded again the sheer magnitude of his looks were invading what little of life he could claim for himself. She circled around him, a predator, but not for his life it was knowledge and curiosity she wanted to satiate.
Subconsciously at the mention of his own hair, he ran a hand through the thick yet extremely soft hair. "..." He did smile a little though. "I have a routine, but I also don't want to waste any of your time." Perhaps it would be perceived as bashful to be worded as such but Roderick felt a test was necessary. Would she continue her curiosities with a complete stranger or find the whole situation a bother by it possibly being too long? Would it be a waste of time for her?
He awaited her answer, feeling that he was indulging his own curiosities of the behavior of people around him.

He runs a hand through his hair, and she can see the little inklings of a smile showing through. Despite this stranger seeming tough and stoic, he seems genuinely happy about the compliment. Evanora beams, waving away his uncertainties with a flicker of her wrists.
"No no no, tell me! Or--is it a secret?" She says, giving him a shit eating grin. Evanora leans in close and smiles. She understands; those in the fashion world of Sundial tended to be somewhat secretive about their routines, whether it's their hair or clothing, even the inkling of makeup. She wouldnt' be surprised if he kept his hidden as well. Regardless of his answer, she'd motion to the open seats behind her, looking slightly too enthusiastic for her own good.
Lumin was starting to chuckle, sharing Roderick's amusement at how readily and happily this girl was reacting to him and his replies. She leaned in a little more towards him, grinning with warmth and mirth. Oho, she really passed this test with flying colors. He was even a twinge bit eager to sit down with her and allowed her to follow him with a show of his arm to do so. He seated himself, sipping from his cup and exhaling afterwards.
"Well, what I do every night is run a concoction of herbs mixed with rose water in my hair. Let it sit in my hair in the morning, and then wash it off." Roderick didn't have much to hide nor a reason to hide too much from her. "One such thing I like to use is mint for its cooling effect. It wakes you up, but it also soothes skin and takes care of flakes." He nods when he finishes, leaning back against his chair, eyebrows perked up.
How would she take this information he provided her? He had to admit, she was quite a cute creature being so excited about physical appearances and routines.
