this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.

Baby, can you move it round the rhythm so we can get with 'em? To the ground and get us a rock and roll round. Just a downtown body body coming with a super-hottie- Let's go, yes, no, hell no-- Baby, can you move it round the rhythm? Cause you know we're living in the fast lane, speed up; It ain't no game, just turn up all the beams when I come up on the scene.

He wasn't one to typically turn down a person in need; but, even as he stood there listening to the request, he couldn't help but wonder what set of events had led him here. It was as good as any first mission- but, it hardly felt like one. The image of formal requests seemed to be grander in his mind: like fighting dragons or something. They were knights, right? But, for this damsel in distress, maybe that was the equivalent?
Either way, one thing had led to another; and, he had found himself standing together with this girl- whom he'd never met before. Maybe, he'd seen her around; but, he hadn't really been here long enough to be certain. Every face he came across seemed to be someone new; and, with as fresh her face may have been to him- he stood there at a loss for words.
"..."
The maid had begged them for help. A solitary sapphire had vanished while she was cleaning, and she was worried now that it was going to cost her her job. The task was simple enough: find the gem before it was noticed missing. Easy enough, right? He wanted to speak up, break the silence, but it what if he said something stupid? He didn't want their first conversation to be ended on a note where he would look a fool. With his background, she'd probably think him some kind of country hick.
His familiar rubbed its side against his hip, before speaking- its voice was a vocal scratching sound- which registered as a husky, human voice directly in the minds of those who could hear it. "Well," he abruptly started, "How far do you think it must have traveled? Perhaps, we should check the halls?"

Asha, on the other hand, had grown accustomed to the ways of the Helios Knights. Perhaps she was turning a little more cyncial - or, if Polaris was to be believed 'realistic'. The object of the mission today was disheartening in and of itself. Why did a simple sapphire have to be the end of their life for someone? Who decided in the first place that sapphires were valuable? [break][break] And surely the Helios Knights could just get a replacement? [break][break] These thoughts swam around her head, but she managed to keep her tongue in check. She was meeting someone new today, so she wanted to start things off on the right foot. As she had done before- precisely, persistently. But sometimes that never worked... [break][break] Sigh. [break][break] She blinked and looked about before spotting the adorable jungle cat- she had remembered, however, that people often took offense at their familiars being cuddled (and sometimes the familiars themselves would be against the too-mundane form of acknowledgment) and so she restrained her urge. [break][break] "Of course. It shouldn't have rolled too far from the statue." She frowned in thought, forehead wrinkling as she did before realizing the implications of her actions. She flashed the maid a sympathetic smile. "Don't worry yourself! We'll find it in no time. Trust me, I know these halls pretty well." [break][break] Ah, the learning she had done on her own in the days when the stuck up knights refused to approach her. She wondered if this person, too, was also like that? Was that why he hadn't spoken? [break][break] Argh. She needed to get these silly negative thoughts out of her head. [break][break] "To the halls, then~" she grinned at the stranger and began promptly marching towards one of the doors where the statue stood straight- a dragaon with sharp wings, a long tongue and a long tail behind it. She remembered suddenly that Pompfrey's transfiguration was full of ideas of turning statues to life. [break][break] Unknowingly, her eyes became fixated on the statue, as though she was waiting for it to stop moving.

WHIP, WHIP, Run me like a racehorse; Pull me like a ripcord- break me down and build me up. I wanna be the slip, slip, word upon your lip, lip- Letter that you rip, rip, break medown and build me up. Whatever it takes, 'cause I love the adrenaline in my veins. I do whatever it takes, 'cause I love how it feels when I break the chains. Whatever it takes. You take me to the top I'm ready for whatever it takes- 'cause I love the adrenaline in my veins, I do what it takes.

He nodded along and readily followed his familiar and the girl. Her name escaped him; but, he was sure he'd learnt it at some point before... or had he? It would be rude to ask something he should already know, so he left it unknown- more interested in finding the lost gem than attempting at small talk. Still, the smile she'd flashed him left him feeling uneasy. His stomach felt like it was doing calisthenics, and he really had lost the urge to speak up now. When was the last time someone had smiled so genuinely at him? Someone who wasn't related?
He played with the hem of his short cloak and tried to focus his mind on the search. Well, he tried to be focused anyway. That is until he noticed his partner stop and her gaze transfix on that dragon statue. He looked from it to her and back again, curious of what had captured her attention so.
"Ah-" he started but then caught his tongue. What if he said something stupid? It was best to leave these encounters to Malicei. The tawny jungle cat brushed its shoulder against the girl, before sauntering a few feet away. "Find something good?" The cat continued with a damn near sarcastic tone underneath the unholy grumbling of it's 'voice'. "Maybe a nice pile of embers for a good nap?"
The red-head flashed his familiar a glare and went back to the distraction of a search. "Rafik, I wish you would quit your worrying- she won't kill you... I think." The last bit was added on with a snicker that sounded more like thunder than humor.
