this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.

Claire remembers that day well. She has been battered, bruised, tossed around, her familiar was put to imminent danger. She saw blood, she felt despair, she heard screams of pain. She parted ways with friends she cares about, and to the heavens' mercy, reunited with them. That day, they walked to a trap, and barely got out in one piece.
On that day, connections were reestablished, faith was strengthened, friendships were solidified, and love--the ever cheesy, pleasant, hurting love--blossomed. Claire can still remember how her eyes frantically searched for Lucena in the crowd, and she can remember the relief that coursed through her veins when she saw her beautiful, beautiful eyes.
It is a feeling she will never forget.
She also remembers the time when they stayed back for a while after the mayhem was over. Hang out? Where? Anywhere?
Anywhere with you, Claire had thought, and it's true. As long as it's with you.
It has been almost a month after the event. By this time the news had already faded from the front pages of circulations. The memory is still vivid, clear, lingering. It took Lucena and Claire several exchanges of pigeons in order to arrange their schedule so they can meet. Today is that day, and oh heavens--Claire has waited for this.
She has plans. A to E, and other backup plans. She saved gold, pampered herself as best as she could. Vani's suggestions on what she should wear is a little bit not too fit for the occasion. Claire rejected every pair he offers, and that only adds to the frustration he felt when Claire did not allow him to materialize during the "date."
"Someone is going on a date!" Vani snarks in the back of her mind. "Oh, there she is--" And Claire would whip her head so fast she is dizzy for a second. "--Nope, just kidding!"
As supportive as ever.
Claire is waiting in a small park in the residential area. She sits on a bench repeatedly taking long, deep breaths to calm her nervous heart. It's just Lucena, pretty Lucena, kind Lucena--
"There she is!" And this time Vani speaks of the truth. Claire looks up, and there she is--a smile makes it way to Claire's lips, and she stands up.
"Good morning, Lucena."

THERE WAS NO LIGHT I SWEAR I COULD SEE A REARING FEAR
Lucena could recall the events with regretful ease, where crimson stained the skies above and had no quarrels with staining the ground below– sheeps led into an unexpected slaughter. The memories occasionally haunt her dreams, the death that she witnessed and the events she had to endure to assure survival; she refused for her life be ripped away from her fingertips when there were those that cared for her. Lucena had took control that day, simply so she could see her sister and Claire just once more before accepting the fate of death.
There was relief that overcame her when the events were drawn to an end, the sense of calm that flooded over her when she was reunited with Astartia; when she realized that Claire was safe now. While she didn’t know the knight that long, she remembered their first meeting in Eclipse Town well and how the time slowed when Claire managed to catch her mid fall during the moonlit festival. Her heart had swelled even more when a connection was established between them, how the bond was deepened between them that fateful day in Percival.
The aches in her bones subsided after a month of recovery from the events, the wounds that plagued her body were healed and for once, the days felt normal to her again and now she could enjoy a day with Claire. Messages were sent between them often to establish a day where the two could meet again and she was more than pleased that today was finally the day where they could.
Lucena felt particularly more nervous though content as she moves through the crowd of downtown Sundial, pale red eyes skimming across the various faces to catch a hint of the other woman. 'Over there.' She hears a voice in the back of her mind, the slight rasp of Silas’ voice and she turns her head; her eyes managing to spot the knight.
“Good morning, Claire.” She returns the greeting after she approached, a smile settling onto her lips when the giddiness subsides for just a moment; her hands idly resting on the strap of her leather messenger bag that was packed a bit more than usual.

Ah, Claire missed this. This foreign feeling that makes her want to bolt yet stay, something that makes her stomach twist and turn, a feeling that makes her heart skip a beat. Come to think about it, these are destructive. They make your senses hyperaware--but only to the person of interest. They put a filter to the scenery, the once bleak park now becomes what, a cherry blossom paradise. It's bizarre.
But Claire will take it. Anywhere, anything, with Lucena Zamóre.
"I'm so glad you came," Claire says. She can't stress that enough. Out of all the cheesy things she wants to say, it's the one that came out. And Claire doesn't regret it.
'All right, you know the game plan,' Vani says, sounding like he is playing chess in her head. 'You lead her to our house and--'
Claire ignores her familiar right there and then. They do have a game plan, but it doesn't reach that far. Yet. "So, uh," Claire sits then, albeit awkwardly, then pats the space beside her. "Have a seat," the Knight says softly.
There are so much things she wants to talk about. There are so much she wants to share, there are so much she wants to know. There are so much she wants Lucena to know. Silence follows soon, though it isn't awkward or uncomfortable. It's brooding, full of thought. All these desires leave Claire tongue-tied, but eventually, she finds her voice again.
"How have you been?" Claire asks, and she needs not to speak of the time of their parting about a month ago. "Your sister?" A quick look at Lucena, and no trace of the torn and bloody sky remains in her physique. Claire, though, cannot say the same for her. Today she abandons the armor, and she feels as light as a feather with this tank top, ripped jeans and a hoodie. Most of the scars she hides underneath the hoodie jacket, but the band aid on the left side of her neck she has no means of hiding, and so she lets it be.
It's healing, but it still hurts, occasionally.

THERE WAS NO LIGHT I SWEAR I COULD SEE A REARING FEAR
Lucena could feel her own heart flutter upon hearing the genuine gratitude expressed in Claire's words, how the sweetness in her tone lingered in the air, “I'm glad to see you too, it's been too long.” She replies after a moment, a small smile gracing pale lips as she looks at the knight– stunning yet so strong; it was a familiar though foreign sight that she missed.
Her brows raise for a moment when Claire moves to sit down, pale red eyes watching her curiously before the knight motions her to sit besides her. Despite how awkward Claire's movements were, she found it all endearing and charming coming from her, “It's good to speak with you again as well, I missed our talks.” She admits softly after a moment though her voice grows hushed as the silence settles around them despite it being fleeting.
Lucena finds these moments comforting as well though she always feels at ease around Claire, how the darkness in world brightens around her; troubles and worries put aside, “I've been healing, but I'm good and my sister is as well.” Lucena hesitates with her sentence, the words slowly falling from her lips– silence was threatening to build.
“Thank you again by the way, for helping Astartia and for helping me.” She eventually blurts out her cheeks flushing in slight embarrassment though she doesn't make an effort to hide away from Claire.

Oh, it's been way too long, indeed. Claire wishes that this day would never end, that she would have Lucena on her side everyday, that the stars and planets and moons would align and grant her wish. It's way too early, and even if it's pretty clear that Lucena and Claire are indeed onto something much deeper, much surreal, more than the bliss of easy friendship, Claire can't help but to doubt herself. If she could indeed protect Lucena, if she could take care of the white-haired beauty beside her.
"Indeed. I missed you," is all Claire could say.
From the inner strata, Vani has had enough. 'Eurgh,' Vani says from the inner strata. Before Claire could even stop him, the boar materializes a few meters from the couple in a muted huff. "Your thoughts are so sweet, Claire, I can't take it. I'm going to be wandering about before I cringe. No offense though, Miss Lucena!" And the boar has the guts to address Lucena! By this time Claire is already blushing really hard and wants to strangle the boar.
"It's the first time Claire has been like this. I'm seriously happy for you two, but try to keep the sugar down a notch." And with that, the boar is off.
Claire stiffly turns to Lucena, and lets out a huge sigh. "Vani's right," Claire admits in defeat. "This is all new to me, and I appreciate your patience. So uh, going back... don't mind it. I'm a Knight, and it's my duty to help. But more than that, you're important to me and so... I... I will do everything to keep you and the people important to you safe."
Just like that, Claire falls into the easy, comfortable conversation with Lucena. "I'm doing well. Healing and recuperating slowly. Work has been light for me as Medeia lets me off to heal." She touches the band-aid on her neck absentmindedly.
