size: about 3 feet tall and between 3-6 feet in length, it varies
weight: 100 - 250 lbs depending on size
rarity (40 per 100 encounters): these monsters are quite common and usually in small packs of 3 to 5
danger level: apprentice (1 on 1) to acolyte (1 vs multiple)
---details---habitat & feeding: these creatures tend to live in the wilderness not very far outside of cities. they mostly attack in packs and skirt around to ambush unsuspecting witches for a meal. they also eat smaller creatures to survive. carnivorous diet.
appearance: a wolf like creature with a shadowy black appearance and red eyes. they look like shadowy smoke wafting off into the sunlight when they move. their teeth are razor sharp with a powerful jaw to match. they all have a red crystal like protrusion on their underbelly in the upper chest area
disposition: the creatures are mostly nocturnal. they prefer to attack in packs and shy away from group of more than two or three people. they prefer to outnumber their foes. they try to surround the enemy and love to attack the legs so their pray can't run.
weaknesses: they have a weakness to light magic. the red crystal on their chest is also their vital spot. if you smash it they will die.
