An openly talkative familiar, in Heath's earliest days Sinclair would often spout out condescending and snide remarks that Heath would hold back and get him in trouble. Back then, their relationship was far worse. Nowadays, Sinclair is the voice that pipes up when Heath cannot. In his own way, he looks out for Heath though he resembles more of an overly invested mother. He is greedy, and will often harass haggle with others when he can. He only sounds morose or remotely calm when speaks directly with Heath, which is rare. He retains Heath's temper of his youth which was the cause of many disputes between witch and familiar.

Sinclair embodies an instinctual need to survive. When Heath's habits strayed into something self destructive, he was there to force Heath back on the right track. Sinclair notes he is practically an over glorified baby sitter as he is still reminding Heath to eat and sleep. Well sleep when he can anyway. One shudders to think what Heath would be or look like without Sinclair's careful nagging.

While is is around the size of pitbull dog, Sinclair a bit lighter than a dog. He tends to climb anything and everything. It doesn't matter if its trees or walls or even other witches. His paws are always freezing cold and while usually he isn't incredibly childish, he delights in sneaking up on other witches and placing his paws directly on their neck. The coati's pelt is almost completely black save for a few white markings on Sinclair's body. White rings go up the coati's tail and there is also a white ring around each eye. The white marking leads from the eyes down the snout hand to the nose. From there. the white line creates a squiggle and then fades back to black which leaves one with the impression that Sinclair has a little mustache. It doesn't help that there is always a perfectly placed black top hat and monocle on Sinclair. The little top hat only really changes in color on holidays. Red or green for Christmas, pink for Valentine's day etc.

Sinclair tends to rely on his tail. He hangs from things from it. He uses it to reach for things when he's too lazy to grab them. He even smacks people with it. In combat, he will rely heavily on his tail for magic use but that doesn't mean he is incapable of summing ice without it.

They slowly bonded and one night before he fell asleep Sinclair revealed his name to Heath directly.

A witch with this technique can now glide over surface by freezing them as they move. After a short burst of momentum, they can skate across fields. It’s trickier with harsher terrain, and beginners end up falling and hurting themselves. A lot.

Another simplistic technique, this allows the witch to spread ice across the terrain, making it slippery and unfavorable. The radius of the terrain increases with the witch’s skill, so a fledgling may not be able to do much.

The user launches a swarm of ice-needles in the shape of tiny swallows. Fairy Rings: The Fairy Bridge (ADV)

It is said that a fairy ring is a bridge into another world, that it is an invitation for a fae to step forth into this world. Such myths may have originated from one who saw the casting of this scroll; that is, a plantshaper who casts this spell invites forth a mysterious ‘fae-like’ spirit to appear within their fairy ring. The spirit may move outside the ring, but vanishes if adequately damaged, or if the ring is broken; it is autonomous of the plantshaper, and may decide to simply cause chaos for all witches (through simple plantshaping spells), through the higher ranked a caster is, the more likely the spirit is to listen to them.

This is a staple for anyone studying natural poisons. It allows the shaper to identify and extract mana-charged toxins from a plant of their choice, in a liquid form. Typically used for further research, or as a component in alchemy.

The plantshaper causes a fairy ring to sprout, whereupon anyone inside the ring will begin to feel a strong urge to stop where they are and sleep. The stronger the plantshaper, the stronger the urge will be, the larger the fairy ring can be, and the harder the mushrooms composing the ring will be to destroy. The spell will be ‘broken’ when more an a quarter of the mushrooms are destroyed.

With some concentration and effort, the shaper is able to gain knowledge of their surrounding natural land in terms of bodies of water, prevalent plants and minerals, or a general physical map of the area. The spell is maintained through contact with some form of plant life of substantial size or age, and is ineffective in a largely constructed setting. The expanse of land covered is dependent on the witch's rank.

Woodshaper's Guide: Spear
Scroll - Plantshaping
Helcata the Autumn Maiden is said to have created these during her reign of the terror as a mass murderer in the Percival Forests. She is said to have killed many witches with these spells. This scroll is usable only where the area permits it. The user can manipulate the roots of a nearby tree, using their mana to harden them to break them through the ground in front of them like a spear jutting out of the earth below. The stronger the witch, the harder an individual root can be and allows for more roots to be manipulated.

Glowshrooms

Bioluminescent mushrooms and fungi sprout in the vicinity of the caster. The amount of fungi and intensity of the light produced can be manipulated by the plantshaper. An experienced plantshaper can even coax shrooms into sprouting from places other than the ground - such as from hair, skin, metals, etc - without detriment, sustaining the growths with mana.

FUNGAL DECAY: FLESH AND BONES
Affinity Scroll - Plantshaping
The plantshaper causes fungi to sprout that will latch onto and begin to decay the flesh of anyone who comes into bare-skin contact with it, the caster excepted. Growth is slow when this spell is cast by weaker witches, and victims can delay the onset of the fungi by expelling pure mana from their skin, however this spell is terrifyingly lethal when in the hands of a master.

IMPASSIVE BUSH
Scroll - Plantshaping
The witch can implant mana into an existing bush, or grow one on the spot at the cost of more mana, to create a trap. When a creature with mana strays too close to it, the bush will leap to life, growing in size to engulf the unlucky creature and swallow them whole. While the bush is not fully carnivorous and cannot digest the creature, it does begin sucking out their mana for nutrients. You can tell how much an Impassive Bush has eaten by the status of its blooms and the color of its leaves. Unfortunately, these bushes need mana to survive, either from the witch which created them or from catching something with mana to consume.

DISTURBANCE OF THE ANGRY CHOLLAS

The spell creates a group of spherical, mana-infused cacti which can be controlled by their creator. The little cacti are naturally attracted to mana which does not match their master's, rolling ominously after other witches or magical beings if their creaor does not instruct them to do otherwise. Once they latch on to the witch or creature with their body of barbs, they will begin to leech mana from them. Chollas can be removed, although there is not a way to remove without inflicting severe, temporary pain on the victim. They can also latch onto non-magical animals who aren't careful, serving as a painful deterrent.

WRATH OF THE PUMPKIN KING

Infuses mana into pumpkins to create makeshift pumpkin soldiers. When infused they must be given a directive in which they will carry out until completed or destroyed. The objective must be simple, such as "attack", "protect", or "find". Anything too complicated will result in the pumpkins exploding. The pumpkins are easy to defeat, as they are just slightly more durable fruit. Breaking them releases the mana stored inside and returns them to their normal state.

The Modern Athenian: Networking

This volume was published not nearly in modern times, but still retains its original name. "Networking" is a series of scrolls which enable the athenian to quickly establish links with other non-athenians by imbuing a fragment of their interface into them mentally. The mental connection can be terminated at anytime by the receiver or the athenian, or in the event of mental strain/damage to either party. Multiple people may be linked, but all thoughts go through the athenian's interface so a novice witch will likely only be able to link a few at a time.

Created by the same author as 'The Sword: Overload', this spell forcefully scans a sentient target's memories regarding a particular person -- most often themselves. It then adds a hazy filter to the scanned memories so it becomes very difficult to remember any details about the person. The fresher the memories, the easier it is to distort the mental image of the person; only a master can suppress the memories of someone who is very familiar the person being forgotten.

This slender dagger is quick and lightweight in its normal form, making it a favored weapon for assassins. The hilt even contains a compartment for a small poison vial which can be injected through the blade with the flick of a switch. It has been enchanted to grow in size at the will of its wielder, able to jump to the length of a rapier in the blink of an eye. Though it can extend to just over 6 meters in length (keeping any poison already in the blade proportional to its size), its weight increases as well, making it quite unwieldy when overextended.

An unassuming shard of selenite, no larger than a human thumb. The material will absorb poisons and impurities of a non-magical or weakly magical nature from its surroundings, visibly darkening the more it absorbs. The effectiveness will rely on the capabilities of the weaver and their mana storage. The intent of the weaver is also crucial at this point as it is assumed that such items may be gifted or sold. The more intent there is to heal within the item (coinciding with the weaver's power), the more efficient. And naturally, vice versa.

Antipoison Ring

If the current wearer of this ring consumes something containing poison, the ring absorbs the poison and removes it from its wearer. Although this applies to both mundane and magical poisons, it only works on poisons which are eaten or otherwise consumed; venoms inflicted from wounds will not be purified. Each time poison is consumed this way, the gem at its center becomes a shade darker, and the ring loses its effectiveness completely once the gem turns black. Item loses its magical ability after 3 uses.

The legendary Sunspear wielded by Naseera Shaer, one of Sundial City's founders, was thrown once again in recent memory following the temporary reanimation of her peacefully entombed body in Eclipse Town's catacombs. Embers from this weapon are notoriously resilient, remaining alight even when in contact with ice and water. When mana is pushed into one of these embers, it will burst into a small firestorm, roughly 5 meters in diameter and 3 standard building stories in height, afterwards rendering the ember ashen and inert. Note that these embers can be used as a dim light and meager source of heat without expending one of its limited uses.

Typically solitary, Heath has never had much interest or practice in charismatic conversation with others. Until recently, he has taken his first step in being more involved with his own coven which has afforded him opportunities to interact with many kinds of people. Even more, he has taken strides in becoming a more charismatic, and adaptable communicator. A skill that will likely serve him in his future endeavors.

Planted amidst multiple small business endeavors or volunteering his assistance where he can, he's had to do his best to keep those around him convinced things are alright. Whether its handling a storefront, amending the mistakes of those bellow him, or even offering his own knowledge, Heath has improved not only his tolerance for conversation, but his ability to smooth over most prickly situations.
