this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.
try as he might, he cannot deny this fact: he is lost. lost, one may ask, at amagika, of all places? surely, there is little to be lost about. a neat stone pavement stretches out before him and winds across the space, and somewhere off in the distance is a map of the park itself, with its various routes and rides labelled. geographically speaking, elih ( probably ) isn't lost, and he is fairly sure he is situated at the park's entrance ( one of many ). but, he cannot, for pity's sake, seem to find the two friends which he was supposed to meet.[break][break]
he does his best impression of some inconspicuous tree, fidgeting anxiously but otherwise waiting perfectly in place just a little off the sidewalk. by this point, he's also fairly certain that he's late, and wonders how it is even humanly possible for him to be so truly inept at life, to the point of being unable to complete the simple task of meeting one's friends at the entrance of the only amusement park in town.[break][break]
just be calm, be patient, says hamster, and almost immediately, elih is the furthest from calm. his eyes dart from face to face in the crowd, a gaze tinged almost with desperation. what if they've forgotten? what if they've left without him?[break][break]
I press the button and[break]it bursts into life[break]This time nothing will escape my sight
She's excited. She's excited enough that she's all but skipping rather than walking like a normal person, bouncing down the sidewalk uncaring of the staring she's attracting. It's not every day that she gets to hang out with and spend a carefree, fun day with her two good friends, after all. Ling's been to Amagika before, of course, but only to the amusement sector twice, and the last time was, what, three years ago? So heck, she's excited, and she's not embarrassed about it at all.
Spotting a familiar crown of silver hair near their designated entrance, Ling beams and bounds over, waving at the knight. "Asha!" she calls, bright and gleeful, her braid streaming behind her like a ribbon of ink as she runs towards the witch. "Are you ready? Excited? How've you been?" Once she gets within earshot, she reaches out to hug her friend, too happy to even consider blushing at their physical contact.
As they break apart though, her thoughts turn to their third member, so far nowhere to be seen. "Have you seen Elih?" she asks, glancing around just to make sure her fellow coven member isn't approaching, or hiding behind a tree nearby, or something. No such luck. The area within eyeshot remains disappointingly Elih-free.
"I could check the other entrances," Valkea offers, leaping down from where he had wrapped himself around her neck and shoulders like a furry scarf. "Maybe he's gotten lost."

Nobility was never what she had expected. Throughout her life, the "finer" things had always been reserved for her sister. Second best came part and parcel with second hand--- Ashanti's circle of friends tended to ironically mirror her acquisition of goods. Always the oddities: always the unbelonged, the stiched-to-fit. But there was a sweet bliss in being hundreds of kilometers away from her sister. There was a sweet bliss in being no-one at all. [break][break] In the back of her mind the questions lingered. Why had she never fallen in so naturally with the crowd of the Helios Knights? (Because, a voice reasoned, she was so much more used to being the admirer than the admired). And she was completely fine with that. [break][break]Ling approached her for a hug, and Asha gave her a much-deserved whoehearted response. The two looked so wildly different, but they felt like sisters. Ash unknowingly mirrored the younger girl's mini-search, albeit in the opposite direction. [break][break]"No I haven't, I thought he'd be with you." She pauses for a bit as Vaea materializes- a presence she has gotten used to as easily as her friends. She considers the possibility and judges it as-- "Weird. But honestly if Elih of all people is late I can't think of a better explanation." [break][break] She laughs. "Well if all of us split up we could probably check all the entrances..." Polaris appears behind her-- grumpy and as glaringly conspicuous as ever. Her plan is reasonable, but then her eyes and mind swoop away from what's in front of her to a giant dragon soaring past the sky--- a rollercoaster ride, of course. A shimmer seems to ripple across her irises. [break][break] "We could mee back there. At the entrance for the uhm---" She begins reading the signboard. It's a tad bit too far away, but she manages anyway. "--Super Dragon Express." [break][break] She grins at Ling. "Whoever finds Elih gets their ticket paid for by the other!" [break][break]
