[attr="class","percy"]Percy still can't believe it. After blood (not really) and hard work (fledgling and apprentice do particularly easy work, so to speak), the boy is a novice now! Think of all the things he can do now! Fight monsters, the strong ones! Oversee a fledgling mission! What else? Oh--
"Explore, help out with a raid, teach an apprentice, and enjoy the most varied jobs in all of sundial and a good amount of popularity to boot," Seraph patiently reminds Percy. The lines spoken are exactly what the brochure said. Percy had repeated the exact same words for the past few weeks, and the words had stuck onto Seraph. Percy is walking up front, bouncing and happy, his familiar lagging several steps behind.
She sees the white-haired girl, but the sound of her meek croak is too slow and too soft to reach Percy's ears in time. The boy is outside for grocery, but the list is the last thing on his mind. Busy with daydreaming, the boy does not notice the girl in crossing the same path as him, and he straight up barrels into her.
Luckily he has good reflexes, and so he manages to steady her just in time. It takes a second before he processes the name in his head.
"Asha!" he exclaims. He is already holding her left arm, and he grips the other arm and shakes her once. "It's been so long! How are you?! I'm so glad I saw you, I'm beginning to worry why your replies aren't getting through. Maybe the Salem-wide Message Service has problems? I wonder what it is."
Percy has all but forgotten his hurt over the ignored messages. He met Asha entirely by accident, and starts to hang out with her a little too much for comfort. Percy spent an entire six hours stressing over them, and reached the conclusion that it's the Pigeon Service that has problems. He promised to check later, but that later didn't come. It's been a good three months since.
Seraph dreads this exact moment--Percy is smothering Asha, too excited to tell stories. The same thing would happen. Again. To top it off, it's early in the morning. Percy doesn't need coffee because he is an anytime-any-day person all along. Others, though...
