Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.

he's smart and he's nice and even though his fashion sense is terrible, they've got enough things in common that ling is proud to call him a friend. he's only a year older but he's already accomplished so much, and ling looks up to him in the sense of an admired friend.
he's a fellow jester, a fellow adept, and he is certainly skilled and competent, but ling can't help but feel rather bewildered by his attitude, his approach. she doesn't want to admit it, but he's far from her favourite person in the coven; she wouldn't hesitate to call him a colleague but she wouldn't trust him very far.
so, maybe she didn't make the greatest of first impressions, but there's no doubting charani is smart and skilled. he's a diviner which is totally awesome, though he could definitely use some lighting up - she'd like to get to know him better, get him to smile a bit more. ( plus, his familiar is the cutest )
oh man. claire is cool, she's competent and strong and brave and like a heroine from one of the novels ling likes to read. claire is definitely a role model for her, someone she admires and aspires to be like. that she got to duel her was like a dream come true; maybe, one day ling could introduce herself properly and they could be friends?

a guy she often sees hanging around my tay's shop, he always seems kind of sad to her, as if he's carrying a heavy weight no one else knows the name of. sometimes, she thinks she reminds him of bad memories, but he's always nice enough to her, and he and mr tay get along really well - she just thinks they're both a little blind about each other. she's seen him enough to care for him too, she wants him to be happy and healthy (hopefully with mr tay)[break][break]
( she doesn't remember him, she'd love him if she did. he's her dad, of course she loves him, but she doesn't know, but she's moving on )
an older friend from their shared coven. he's her choice partner whenever it comes to going out to explore in the wilds, 'adult supervision' if you will (not that she needs it), he's cool enough to go through with her wild ideas but he's also got enough common sense to stop her truly crazy ones (or so valkea says).
he's a cool older witch who'd taken the time to talk to her, to ask about her affinity without talking down to her, and for that she's grateful. she doesn't know him but she doesn't doubt they're awesome, him and moosely both. she hopes to see them around.
percy is smart and handsome and strong, perfect like a storybook hero and she had a crush on him, once. she still kind of does - he was her first boyfriend, her only partner to date - any yeah, they've broken up and he's broken her heart, she doesn't hold it against him but it still hurts; she'd like to continue calling him a friend and she wishes him nothing but the best, but she needs a bit of time to get over her heartbreak first.

saoirse is another friend she admires, she's pretty and graceful and successful, and ling wants to be like that when she's older too. saoirse is also a runescripter, one of the few she's met outside of academics; runescripters stick together and ling wants them to be no different. saoirse isn't the most outgoing person she knows, and so ling's made it a goal to keep up their friendship no matter how long they go without meeting face to face.
a friend! and someone to admire, honestly (and maybe have a tiny crush one). saskia and luci are beautiful and kind and strong, and wow they're amazing. they've only met, like, thrice, but ling hopes she can call them friends, and she'd love to get to know them better. she'll be cheering them on when they take over the world, she has no doubts they can do it.
nominally just a guy who runs a flowershop tucked away in sundial, mr tay has become akin to the father she doesn't have. he's kind and he's quiet and he seems a little sad, but he always makes room in his life for her and lets her babble away without any hint of discouragement. she trusts him, she loves him, and she wants him to be happy. ( he totally should get together with mr des, she thinks - they'd be the cutest couple, and it'd probably good for both of them )
zephyr is totally cool. he may not be a part of jester's den officially, but in ling's eyes he's a member all the same, and she certainly hopes he thinks enough of her to call her a friend. his crafting is amazing and she admires how his attitude, his perseverance; plus, spock is awesome and she'd like lessons from her on how to be casually terrifying thanks.

there is a part of him that barely believes charani is real, that barely believes in the nightmares that had introduced them together. but evidently there is an element of truth here regardless of what is real; and so, hereto he has a silent promise to ensure nothing of the sort ever will happen to charani again under his watch.
a nightmare in the shape of history and blood and pain, a tormentor once hired to temper him into obedience. he was just a job to desmond, kasimir knows, and they are nominally colleagues now, but desmond grey features too heavily in his scars and past and fears to ever be anything but terror given name. that he outranks desmond is little comfort; he actively avoids him, slips away if ever he sees him arriving, will never willingly take a mission together.
relationships are hard to quantify. they are not quite friends, not in the sense that they know each other inside out, not in the sense that they are there for each other, but kasimir cares for lucena certainly much more than he would an acquaintance. the two of them, they have an unspoken agreement: to watch out for the children of the hovel, to care for them, to give them opportunities like they themselves did not have. you could call them the pseudo-parents of these poverty-striken streets, dirt under their nails and hunger a vivid memory no matter how far they have flown.
theirs is a quiet friendship, bonds woven in sunlight and silence and drips of paint. kasimir does not know lynn, not where she came from, not who she is, not her dreams for the future or the nightmares of her past, but he knows how she smiles and whence she seeks for peace, he knows the weight of their unspoken words, knows how they are similar and how they are different. somehow, somewhere beneath the strokes of her brush and the ink she trails behind, he has learnt to like her, to trust her, to let down his guard and allow the truth of who he is to peek through.
to call their relationship 'complicated' would be to be overly simplistic; they have a history, back when they were reckless teens, too small for the dark wide world they find themselves in, but too fierce, too stubborn to let that stop them. he loved maddox then, loved him brilliantly and brightly and truly, and he almost, so nearly trusted him also; but that trust was shattered before it could be spun, but fear and circumstance severed them in two. kasimir ran and did not look back ( lie ), but he ran and left the memories in a distance until he ran right into them again. they meet again in fire and steel and a series of missions that cannot be sheer coincidence, they meet again more true to themselves than they ever were before, they meet again and kasimir does not realise he has fallen in love cares again until it is too late to go back. but the selfish part of him does not want to go back, the selfish part of him wants to sew them together and be happy- but a blade of fire later and it is ended before it can be started. what they are, he does not know; they are two people with too many secrets and the weight of history between them.

an acquaintance boarding on friend, it is difficult to say given how few times they have met. but it is strange, given the connection he feels in these few mere meetings; it is strange, given the secret she has let him bear. kasimir likes saoirse, likes her more than he would a casual acquaintance, but is that not what they are?
he loves her more than anything. he will give anything, sacrifice everything, to make sure she is safe, is happy; he knelt to a monster, drowned in crimson, shattered and reforged himself into something he despises, all for her, and he cannot bring himself to regret it, not really, would do it all over again if it were necessary. saskia is his light, why he continues to live and breath and fight forwards unto dawn; he admits that perhaps he is slightly overprotective and he is working on stepping back to let her bloom, but he hopes she will never find out all that he has done, prays that he will not be tarnished crimson and cruel in her eyes.
another not-quite friend, not-quite acquaintance. they are not friends either, not in the sense of equals, not in the sense of seeking each other's company for enjoyment, but kasimir does enjoy taylan's company, but kasimir trusts him with the jagged bits and pieces sticking out from his chest that he knows not how to deal with. or, it is not trust, not fully, but it is close enough; it is something in the shape of respect and esteem and the tentative beginnings of friendship.

and here is someone he fears, one of the few people kasimir truly hates. xuan jin holds the leash to his collar with an iron-firm grip, in the shape of a true name and a promise of a potion; xuan jin is a person in the shape of his nightmares and shuddering terror, imprinted in kasimir's life as his fear of ice, as the pale scars on his skin, as his continued allegiance and obedience and service to an ideal he despises.
zephyr comes as a package with maddox, he knows this as truth. they are brothers in something closer than blood and kasimir respects that; he does not know zephyr well but he hopes that will change, he thinks he likes what he does know. oh but sometimes the world is cruel; he has not seen zephyr since he had cut off maddox's arm, but he does not have to see him to know that the hope of possible friendship is now but a could-have-been dream.
