this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.
After they passed on the coin to the nice, drop-dead gorgeous woman who turned out to be their client, Percy led Tony to his apartments nearby. As usual, Tony pulled out all his charm in order to impress their client in the hopes of getting more from her specifically next time. While he didn't get anything like that in the end, he and Percy did receive some baskets and bags of goodies. Tony was more than happy to accept them for all the trouble they went through.
Since he lived further away, he decided to lug all of his stuff along and head on to Percy's immediately. It was going to be exhausting carrying it constantly, but it was better than heading home then going back. At least he could just leave it somewhere at Percy's while he hung around. Or at least that was what he assumed. He had no idea what Percy's apartment looked like, or exactly how bad his situation was. For all he knew, Percy could be whining about not having enough to keep both the luxury and necessity.
All kinds of rooms began crossing through Tony's imagination. From great and gaudy rooms, to the ugliest, smallest rooms he knew all too well. Percy didn't seem like a big spender, but he'd mentioned 'antique' and Tony thought of how much those would cost - especially if they were really old and really rare.
"How much farther Percy?" he asked. His arms were growing heavy with the load, but he could still manage a few more blocks at least.

Percy walks steadily, hugging the goods to his chest as opposed to carrying them like Tony does. They are relatively small bags, and so Percy can still see ahead. He spots his apartment building, two blocks away from where they are now. "It's right in the corner," Percy says. He quickens his pace, then, carrying ahead of Tony. He at least wants to open the door to his apartment, perhaps see what he could fix before he lets Tony in.
From outside the apartment building looks like a relatively new building. Only because it's repainted, of course. It's a two-story structure, with the first floor occupied by a canteen and laundry shop. It's a relatively lax day, and so Percy only gives them a wave before continuing upstairs. There are stairs on the corner, with enough space for two people to walk together.
There are three rooms on the second floor, and Percy walks straight to the last room by the open hallway. He sets the bag to the floor, opens the lock. He is glad to hear the illusioned wind chimes sound when he opens the door, but at the same time he also feels a little guilt. After all, the antique wind chime could...
"Sorry it's a little, uh, hot. I don't exactly have air conditioning here. I only have windows." Percy sets the bags inside and proceeds to open the windows. "Have a seat. So, uh, this is my house. So I'll just--"
What Tony would see inside is a relatively clean living room. Percy has one table inside, where he eats his food and dumps his clutter, two sofas, and a huge transparent glass cabinet filled with books, scrolls, and some other memorable clutter he either brought over from home or bought at a store. At the dining, there is a counter, with an enchanted stove he bought, and a small fridge. Both are quite pricey, but they do him wonders. Attached to the walls are small illusioned moving paintings and a pendulum clock.
Meanwhile Percy is staring in the void of his fridge. It's a lot worse than he thought. Nonetheless, he brings out what remains of the cake. "Would you like a cake?" he offers.
As soon as Percy assured him that they were close, Tony let out a sigh of relief. He nearly let his arms sag down, and if he hadn't brought it back up again he would've spilled everything inside the basket. That would've been an absolute crime that Tony would never forgive himself for.
While he was adjusting his grip on his goods, he almost missed seeing Percy walk faster. Tony grunted as he hefted the basket and followed, a bit slower than the other. There was nothing for him to worry about as long as he could still see Percy in his sights. This way, he also got a good look at the exterior of the apartment.
The place looked nice - nicer than the tiny hovel Tony lived in. But it wasn't the nicest, swankiest place either, judging by the fading paint on the wall. He'd been to and seen enough places to know that this was somewhere around the middle of the price spectrum.
They went up to the second floor before Percy headed straight towards a particular door and opened it up for him. Tony stepped in, setting down his own baskets next to Percy's while the other began fussing about the room. "It's fine," he reassured him.
Picking the chair by the table, he sat down and slowly looked around the main room. What mostly caught his eye were the things on his cabinet, and the appliances he had in what Tony guessed to be the kitchen area.
Percy's question brought him briefly out of his thoughts. He glanced in the other's direction with a shrug. "Sure." He would wait for the other to be a good host before they started talking business.

Sighing, Percy takes a pitcher of cold water and the cake before he closes the fridge. He sets down the quarter slice of it and a glass of water in the table. "It's chocolate," Percy says helpfully before settling on his sofa. He almost tells Tony it's leftover, but he figures he could easily tell. No further need to embarrass himself.
The next minute would be filled with awkward silence. Percy is sweating even though the room has now cooled down to tolerable humidity. He does not know what to say, really. He is waiting for Tony's comments about his living conditions. And so he continues to just sit there, looking everywhere but his antiques.
"I told you so," Seraph says in the back of his mind, and Percy makes a disgruntled sound. If Seraph, the mute swan, chooses to speak human speech just to make her point clear, then Percy is in sure trouble. He begrudgingly apologizes to his familiar and promises her not to spend so much again, but apparently Seraph isn't contented at that.
Against Percy's will, Seraph materializes in a quiet poof of white feathers. Percy face palms and looks away. Meanwhile the swan respectfully bows to Tony and makes a request before she leaves.
"Please do knock sense to Percival," Seraph says in her melodic voice. "He grew up in sheltered family, never having to struggle. You see he is quite in a predicament. He will need all the advice he could get in order to live decently. Thank you." And with that, Seraph disappears in whirlwind of feathers getting sucked in an invisible vortex.
"You don't have to put it like that!" Percy whines. When Seraph does not answer, Percy says sarcastically, "thanks!"
"Thanks. Don't mind if I do." Picking up the fork, he began to eat the cake. It was good. A bit too sweet for his tastes maybe, but he wasn't going to complain. He just washed it out with the glass of water that Percy was kind enough to provide as well.
At the sudden poof of feathers, Tony jumped and nearly choked on the water he'd been drinking. He hadn't expected the swan to appear like that all of a sudden, since Loki was usually out in the open at all times. Hitting his chest as he coughed, he nearly missed everything that the swan said.
"That's a really nice voice," he croaked at first. Then, after a few more seconds of recovering himself, he cleared his throat and straightened up. Of course, from the looks of Percy's apartment and all the other trinkets in his home, Tony already guessed that he wasn't used to living in sparse conditions.
"Yeah, no worries," he began. "First off, it's not your fault for being used to living differently before." He didn't bother asking about the details of why he wasn't with his family anymore. That was something for Percy to decide whether he wanted to share or not.
"But now that you're living here, you need to change your lifestyle. Anything you don't need to survive you shouldn't buy. This," He struck a piece of cake with the fork and waved it in the air for emphasis. "Is not necessary. Those antique objects, books and scrolls all over your room aren't necessary either. If they're just going to be sitting on display unused, then they're a waste of money that you could be using for food or other necessities. I'd suggest selling anything you're willing to part with." He wondered how Percy would handle that kind of suggestion.
