this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.
To say that he was excited would have been an understatement. Flynn was absolutely out of his mind with glee as he rushed through the stalls, asking about various wares, and putting them in bags which seemed to gather weight as time went on. Rufus remained tucked in one of his pockets and peeked out occasionally to take a bite from a few apple slices that he kept for her. She didn't seem to understand why he was so excited about planning a party, chalking it up to one of Flynn's odd quirks.
Lately, he'd been rather excited and interested in interacting with people. Not that it was a bad thing but it was simply new and unprecedented. But somehow it was undeniably Flynn. Ever since their meeting near the lighthouses, Rufus hadn't had the courage to ask him to take off his blindfold again. It seemed too soon and to be fair, it was a little cruel to take him out of his comfort zone so quickly. Flynn shifted one of the bags into the crook of his arm and reached inside of his jacket to give his familiar a light pat on the head.
Was I thinking too loudly again?
Kinda.
He spared a little smile towards her and she would've smiled back if she was human. Nonetheless, the awkward silence between them was gone and a steady stream of chatter started up. The party was meant for the Helios Knights, new recruits and old alike. He only hoped that he'd buy enough things to keep everyone fed and entertained.
As they talked, Flynn forgot to remember where he was stepping and accidentally knocked into another person. He shuffled backwards and caught himself, used to falling and tripping over his own feet, but the items in his bag weren't so lucky. He could hear them hitting the ground and sighed.
"Sorry about that," he called. "Guess I'll have to go shopping again."
I've been watching your kindness keep A lonely company Look at the fire and think of me I've been watching you creep Around my wandering feet Trying for years to flee
Lucena could recount the unfair treatment she received in her childhood, wandering the disheveled streets of the hovel alongside her sister and resting underneath whatever makeshift roof they could muster at the time; all the while fighting for the simplest necessities one could ask for. She remembered how her sister would return some days with a surprising amount of supplies in hand and despite her questioning, she never recalled a set answer.
She found herself recalling all those cruel memories each time she set foot within the hovel and while at times she wished she could forget them all, other times she simply cherished the haunting thoughts. Lately, she found herself visiting the very streets she would wander as a child and taking the memories with a small semblance of grace as she wandered through them. Silas wasn’t particularly keen on revisiting the place where his witch struggled the most, yet he would remain quietly perched on her shoulders; small black eyes peering out into the crowd as they walked.
Remind me, why are we doing this again? We could just leave this place behind, it’s in the past. She would hear his voice in the back of her mind, sensing the disapproving tone laced in his unspoken words. Lucena saw nothing wrong with visiting her origins, especially with such a bustling area like the market place.
Distracted with her own silent conversation with Silas, she would occasionally bump into another person and dismissing the situation with a quiet apology while her gaze flicked to the various wares from time to time. Despite the luck she had thus far, it was when she entirely collided into another person that promptly snapped herself from her thoughts. Lucena stumbled back a bit at the incident, not entirely falling over, but it was enough for Silas to briefly flutter off her shoulders at the impact, “I’m so sorry, I should have paid attention more…” She quickly apologized, her voice growing a bit more quiet when she saw the items scattered across the ground.
“If you’re going shopping again, I could help you collect whatever it is you need; it would only be fair.” Lucena offered, her pale gaze just now settling onto the person she had crashed with.
