this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.
Making friends and open conversation has always come naturally to Vera. Between her easy smiles, big attentive green eyes, and glaring extraversion, she can actually prove to be rather hard to ignore, though not impossible. Regardless of how her advances are received, she tends to be the first to approach. An unfortunate side effect of this is that she often is left to steer the conversation, and talking so much about herself more often than not feeds her ego and her unconscious notion that her life and opinions are more important than others'.
[break][break]
She likes people, though. She likes people a lot. She likes talking to them and learning about them and offering them advice if and when the opportunity arises. If you're lucky, or rather unlucky enough, you may even end up sampling her latest recipes.

LOOKING FOR Everyone is welcome in this category!

lovers
Ah, romance. It's one of those wonderful, magical things that Vera and her many schoolmates found themselves fantasizing about for years.
[break][break]
Unfortunately, years passed and, while she had her nose buried deep under cookbooks and flour and alchemy scrolls and every single piece of paper that her late Opa wrote about these two topics, her friends orbited around her with different displays of girlfriends and boyfriends. She was happy for them when they introduced her to their newest sweetheart, and sad and angry by their side when they broke up, and in every single one of these moments she was also jealous. But she never looked up; her goals were at all times more important than dating.
[break]
Vera isn't actively looking for someone to date. She's the kind of girl whose love story needs to be slowly built up from friendship. I can definitely see her developing feelings for anyone who sticks around her for long enough, and would love to eventually find her in this situation.
[break][break]
enemies
Let's be honest, Vera isn't hard to dislike: she can be incredibly close-minded and childish. She can be a plain jerk without quite meaning to. The word enemy isn't one Vera readily applies to fellow human beings or witch familiars, though. There are plenty of people she likes, as well as people she doesn't like, but she has no enemies other than the evil creatures that plague the far corners of Salem. Arrogant jerks with a knack for belittling her would be close, though. Oh, and anyone brave enough to insult her cooking.

LOOKING FOR No.
[break][break]
I mean, well, if you want to? We could work something out, I'm sure. But why would you want to?

anything else under the sun
I'm honestly open for all sorts of plots, I love conflict and bantering and misunderstandings and all sorts of characters influencing others. If you're looking for more plot-specific relationships, check the post below!
Have you ever met one of those thirty-five-year-old moms who try too hard to please and to connect with their children, and go as far as to call themselves cool? Eleanor here is one of them, and she isn't the least bit ashamed of it. Well, okay, maybe only a little.
Eleanor has always been sociable. She flutters from clique to clique like a social butterfly that was never told its name was a metaphor. She loves people; loves interacting with them and helping them out and making them feel happy and important and good.
But let's be real: she is no adolescent anymore, and comes off as a nagging old lady most of the time. Not that it bothers her, really, as long as her children are safe and their moods lifted.
children
Let her adopt you. Let her smother you with love.
enemies
Although she's not quick to hold grudges, Eleanor has a bit of a bad history with the Helios Knights. Having once been part of them, and later terribly disappointed in them, she doesn't trust them as a group.
Still, she is perfectly happy to make friends and interact with members of the coven, so long as they don't act like complete prats.
lovers
Eleanor's heart was stolen long ago by a grumpy old man. She is mostly happily married to that same grumpy old man, and they have a beautiful child named Nina. She loves her hubby too much to have eyes for anyone else romantically. However, I'm more than open to past crushes and casual flirting and maybe even admirers. Undesired sexual frustration? I'm game.
gryffin is like FRENCH and so he also was/is the little bitch of silvertongue and is like the cook for them or somethin idk. so he has like french cooking training. idk. thoughts?
[attr="class","crowcred-info"]how about coffee? or maybe tea? which would you prefer? perhaps a work in la rue's kitchen fully stocked and has everything you could ever need.. of course, would you like to work part time? or full? or just be a regular at the café?[break][break]there isn't much that can be put in the same pot for nike and vera, but, there is something that can be worked or can progress through events and threads that happen. they're opposites for the elements, vera being fire and nike being ice; however, if worked together they can be undoubtedly have a friendship that could last longer than most of the "friendship" nike has ever had.[break][break]i feel like one way for the two to meet would be at la rue café (perhaps vera was stuck on a recipe that she knows so well but can't seem to remember a certain ingredient?), nike owns the cafe and she notices how troubled she is maybe? another would be that nike is on errands for her cafe and (horrible at directions) has gotten lost, and her familiar goes out of his way to find someone who's willing to help out.[break][break]maybe later on, nike offers her a job and vera can have the decision to work at the cafe or not. maybe their friendship has gone through a hole that their chance at meeting and developing something was a one time deal, but somehow at the back of their minds they wonder what happened to the other?[break][break]i'm spit balling here, don't mind me lmao
so imagine isadora bullying vera. and isadora's a very clever bully so i think she could cut beneath normal skin-- first it might start out as little jabs about 'isn't that badge quite heavy for you?' and making sharp notes of vera's behavior she could just toss out terribly accurate guesses like 'i bet you joined to be famous or walk in the shoes of your family members, right?' , saying things that are irrefutably true but also horribly wrong. at least, when they come out of isa's mouth.
but then flash forward a few weeks later when vera is making rounds of her family's shops and lo and behold it's isa's favorite brand of chocolate goodies. both of them attempt to save face, of course, but who knows what happens from there? yes no? add subtract?
luke is probably that one guy who insults her cooking whether he means to or not, though i'm not sure how he'd come to taste it to begin with, haha. or it might even be a misunderstanding between the two of them – he might've eaten something nasty that she thought might have been hers, or something along those lines?
either way, the redhead definitely wouldn't understand why she'd get mad at him for saying something bad about her food; to him, an insult is just a backhanded way to encourage someone to work harder. right? i can see them initially starting off on the wrong foot and arguing with each other a lot due to not understanding each other. perhaps later, in the future, they could be forced to make up and learn from each other to see from other perspectives?
Other than that these two would get along. Since you mentioned Vera being gullible before expect Tony to make the most out of this and tease her to no end.
This could either be forever, or go down in flames~[break][break]
No but seriously, these two are actually really similar in terms of personality ouo. I'm thinking kindred spirits in different covens? They're both gullible and cheerful and love to talk, so I can imagine these two just hanging out and having fun with random alchemic/runic hybrid experiments (basically an excuse to blow things up and cause chaos) and gossiping and eating tonnes of unhealthy junk food. I'm thinking Vera's the one Ling seeks out whenever she's in the Helios Knight's part of town, and sometimes she just drops by without warning to babble on about whatever's caught her eye (and bring food), and vice versa? Vera's a little older, so I can see Ling coming to her for advice and stuff too.[break][break]
YES. I love it. Tbh Ling has a mother hen side to herself as well as a leftover instinct from looking after her father, but that doesn't apply to herself. I love the idea of Vera exploring a more responsible side through Ling. I'm totally up for Vera approaching her out of curiosity at the cafe and them just clicking.[break][break]
I have a side plot / character arc for Ling I want to pursue, and I'm wondering if you're amiable to being part of it? Basically, sometimes Ling feels the weight of her missing memories or something triggers the release of another memory, and that makes her feel all kinds of lost and melancholic and homesick for a home she doesn't remember, but she feels like she has no right to burden her guildmates and friends with such a trivial problem. She's so happy and cheerful most the time that people don't expect quiet sadness from her; I was thinking once they get to know each other a little better, maybe Ling could get into one of these moods (or something while she's hanging out with Vera could trigger something) and she's pretending to be upbeat but let's something slip. She expects Vera to brush it off like others would, but instead Vera's like "what?? no no, you don't need to pretend with me, etc", and for the first time in a while, Ling can just... let go. Idk, up to you though. (Oh god I rambled, I'm very sorry)[break][break]
Feel free to hit me with one of Vera's plot arcs too~ <3 (do you want to start their meeting thread, or should I?)
I don't really! Have many ideas!! oops ;v; but Eleanor is so cute??? I want her and Sima to be friends! They're both fledgling in Leviathan, so maybe they've run into each other a couple of times or maybe they've done a mission together. pls mom sima[break][break]
