Socials include any thread which is tied neither to a mission nor an event (unless the event specifically indicates otherwise). If you complete one, you'll get roughly 2 AP for every 3 of your character posts (less, if the thread was dropped / incomplete), plus one random technique!

Simply post the template in this thread and staff will do all the math:

“Quests” are basically collections of semi-related completed threads that develop a character. Quests always award at least one item, which can be a spell, technique, or other misc. item depending on the focus of the quest and staff discretion. Quests are tracks of how your character is developing, and one completed quest is required for each rank up after novice rank. Quests are personal and don’t need to be created or approved before beginning. Instead, they are accepted and processed only once they are complete.
[break][break]
An example of a quest would be: “Quest: Finding happiness. Name Mcname begins to find value and happiness in things after repeated interactions with his uplifting coven members.” Rules for quests are given below.
[break][break]
001. A quest must contain at least two threads that are preferably completed. Staff may consider cases where other members left the thread untimely or where threads were unable to be continued, but please be reasonable. There is no upper limit on the number of threads per quest!
[break][break]
002. No more than half the threads in one quest can be events (rounded down).
[break][break]
003. A single thread may be a part of two different characters' quests. In fact, staff definitely encourages this to happen.
[break][break]
004. However, a single thread can not count for two different quests for the same character. Each quest should be treated as a separate development arc.
[break][break]
For those of you having trouble wondering what kind of development you should go after first, here are some basic quest templates you can modify to suit your needs! Feel free to toss ideas at staff to add them here.
[break][break]
• gaining/losing faith in an ideal, coven, or person[break]
• gaining/losing the respect of a mentor or peer[break]
• becoming an influence over someone or becoming influenced by someone[break]
• gaining/losing a positive/negative character trait[break]
• taking on a personal exploration or project[break]
• finding a new hobby or passion[break]
• becoming brave/cowardly[break]
• gaining/losing a reputation[break]
• falling in/out of love[break]
• learning compromise or accepting differences
[break][break]
Remember that the whole idea of the quest does not need to be complete (ie. completely falling in love or completely removing a personality vice), the character should simply make progress towards...a personal quest, whether they know it or not.
