He tensed a little glancing away from his friend, eyes narrowing a bit in guilt. There’s that same urge to hide, to run. He could still cut this short. He could still just touch a charm and move himself back to his dorm to be alone but then at what cost? Charani would never talk to him again if that happened, he was sure of it. Aiden brushed aside the dangerous thought. He’d made himself promise he wouldn’t ever do that again. He was going to keep it, as squirmy and awkward as he felt in this instant, he had to endure it if he really, really cared to make up for his past mistakes. “W-Which is good because I’m staying over. Yeah?” Aiden said reflexively trying to smooth the moment over, totally not feeling guilty. Nope. Not here. Here was total focus. [break][break]
Aiden felt his heart jump a little as Charani reiterated the need to talk. It didn’t feel like he was pushing too hard on the diviner. He’d wait, eyes following the other boy intently before he got up and pushed in his chair before leaning on the couch to watch. Aiden fidgeted, noting the spot set for him before he climbed over the back of the couch and planted himself right next to the blonde. Their shoulders touched, and he felt that same spark of warmth start moving out of his shoulder and through his arm gradually heating him up. He stayed quiet for the most part getting used to it, soaking up the moment. The quiet, the warmth, Charani. It felt like a while for someone nervously going through trying to organize his own thoughts. He tentatively looked for Charani’s hand, the gesture familiar and even comfortable to him. They’d always done this. It had freaked him out once but after a while it had become a source of comfort. [break][break]
“Are… are you-” his throat felt tight and his voice weak. Aiden paused to clear his throat and swallow hard. He needed to talk this out or it’d continue to haunt him. “Charani, were you- are you mad at mad at me? For all of this?” he gestured vaguely with his other hand. He’d been under the impression that he was. Aiden would’ve been given similar circumstances. He never really, clearly understood how Charani had felt about certain things only how he wanted to move forward from them. And that, he liked him. That had been obvious in retrospect and a main point of contention for the redhead. Now though, there was an obvious answer on what to do about it. Clearly, take the boy on a date. Which he had, in a different life. Kind of. “It’s…fine if you are I just- I guess I want to listen to you. And apologize to you.” He had a lot to answer for, but something inside him wanted to feel the full brunt of the pain he might’ve caused.

"I just came here to the party for the drugs Not here to make a friend or fall in love"
The redhead was like a baby deer in the woods. Nervous. Wary of danger without knowing what it could be or look like. Cute as a button too. A baby deer is the perfect analogy. Or is it metaphor? Who knows. Who cares. “Do you want to stay over? Like I’d love it if you did but you don’t have to force yourself to if you don’t want too.” The witch said as Aiden slowly made his way to the couch. He even came in on the backside of the furniture like a total dork would. Super dork. Given a few minutes that seemed to stretch on for way to long he felt Aiden take his hand. He gave a little squeeze to it.
“Why do you think I’d be mad at you?” He sounded confused more than anything. For what the spell that caused them to forget? That wasn’t his doing, nor say anything they did together under its influence. It was them sure doing it on some level but it wasn’t completely them at the same time. Like a fragment of their true selves.
“Ive never been mad at you. Well okay when you put yourself in danger and got hurt I was a little mad but besides that I’ve never been mad at you. Sad sure but never mad.” Why or how could he be mad. Aiden didn’t reject him to be cruel or toy with his emotions to string him along on purpose. He was just dense and deep down he was a kind boy who didn’t know he had hurt someone so close to him.
“I guess I was just sad that you didn’t feel the same way I did. You know? I’m sorry if it came across like I was mad at you.” He was more mad at himself for having hope. At least in the moment he was. This was quite a while ago though. Things change. Not much as evident by the last three days but still. Things change.

He nodded quickly at the blonde suppressing that urge to leave. It was just a bad impulse and one he wouldn’t listen to anymore. Awkwardness and discussions aside, he was always comfortable in Charani’s home. It was relaxing…most of the time. He froze up a bit, trying not to blurt out everything all at once. There’s a quick breath to steady himself as he forced his mouth to voice thoughts he had ruminated over for far too long. “Well…I always thought maybe…you were mad for me, um, forcing you to tell me…things after we had that dream together.” There was something about being able to remember another life you never had that just screamed ‘TALK ABOUT THIS!’. “And…for leaving.” He’d left for months without a word. Maybe the occasional wave or nod at the coven but he had definitely avoided the boy for as long as possible. Until he’d gotten himself stabbed. [break][break]
Aiden snorted a bit despite himself. “You have every right to be mad about that… I got really hurt.” He could admit he’d been reckless, but he could also admit he really didn’t regret it. Sometimes, regardless of how you chose to do something the result would be the same, and sometimes the results were just bad. That’s why he trained so hard and why Marjorie drilled him so much so things like that wouldn’t happen again. Or if they did, they wouldn’t be as fatal. [break][break]
“N-No you’re fine I just…I guess I thought you should be angry and was just waiting for you to express it.” He would’ve deserved it. In a way, it’d felt worse that Charani had seemed more disappointed than angry at him. It felt more of a testament to how kind he could be, or maybe he just hadn’t cared after Aiden had basically rejected him. But that couldn’t be right. He’d come to see him in the hospital and wanted to spend time with him after all. He gripped Charani’s hand tightly, more out of nerves than trying to convey comfort. “And I also wanted to say sorry again for that.” They’re weird three days notwithstanding, he didn’t feel like he’d made a lot of progress in making it up to Charani for ignoring him for months. That’s not what best friends in emotional distress did. [break][break]
His face scrunched up in concentration as he spoke up again. “When I asked you if you liked me as more than friends I- I was scared I didn’t- or wouldn’t feel the same and you’d be upset. But it happened anyway.” That night had been like mental whiplash as he’d tried to review past memories and read them for an added context. He had dismissed a lot of it under Charani’s unusual affection and didn’t have anything else to compare it to. Maybe that was also willful ignorance, or some internalized inferiority complex. He’d figure it out now that he was starting to pick at the weird layers in their awkward relationship.

“I was hurt when you left. It felt like... um... like you know that feeling you get when you make plans to meet with someone and they don’t show on time? And you worry and worry while in the back of your head you think they won’t come? That they were just to nice to tell you they really didn’t want to hang out with you and didn’t know how to say it? And then they call you apologizing saying they can’t make it? Thats the feeling.” The witch said as Aiden finished speaking about how he wouldn’t blame Charani for being angry. He wasn’t mad, how could he be? It was nothing someone could be faulted for... how they feel. It was so lonely though.
“Do you want me to be mad at you?” He said, confused at why Aiden kept bringing up that he should be mad at the redhead. Maybe it was a way of punishing himself for how cruelly he had abandoned his friend? A tormented aura fraying at the ends.
“It was a lot but it was unfair of me as well. I have had so much longer to figure out my feelings towards you and to essentially be caught red handed when you had no idea was just a lot. That’s why I’m not mad. I’m just as much to blame as you are.” He could have easily vocalized how he felt to Aiden. He knew the other boy wasn’t correctly interpreting his signals. You don’t go over a year with constant flirting not realizing that much. He was just so dense and nobody bothered to correct him.
He was trying very hard not to get choked up. Trying not to let tears start to well up in his eyes. He was doing okay so far. There was more emotion in his voice than before but that was it. Hopefully Aiden didn’t say anything to crazy or he’d definitely start crying. Nobody wanted that.

He didn’t think he remembered a time he had seen Charani upset. The diviner was either consistently upbeat, or tired. That kind of bothered him. He felt like Charani had seen all of his moods at one point or another, but he hadn’t done the same. Maybe he just hadn’t paid attention closely enough or offered Charani the same courtesies he had. Could he have been a better friend? Definitely. Because the first time he’d seen the boy upset had also been his own fault. Now It felt like it was happening again. Even if Charani took partial blame in all this, it still bothered him that he was upset and Aiden, to some degree, was the reason for it. Something seizes in his stomach before he spoke up. “Did you think all the time we’d spent together I was just…humoring you? Because we’re knights or because you were rich or-” the sudden worry blossomed, and it only made the situation worse. His poor best friend, in love with a moron who only stayed with him for status. Oh Gods- [break][break]
“No!”‘Yes.’ Aiden clamed his jaws shut for a moment. He hadn’t meant that. The redhead let it linger for a minute. “I- I think…maybe? Maybe I did, maybe I still do in like a weirdly selfish part of me.” It wouldn’t help him make it up to Charani, but it would ease that guilt a bit. He fidgeted a bit mulling over the explanation. “I guess you’re right.” He said after a moment, not really wanting to agree but feeling like disagreeing would only be more upsetting. “It feels dumb in retrospect…not seeing things clearly I mean.” His grandparents held a degree of trust in Charani that he’d never really seen, but he had also never been as close to anyone else like this before. They spent so much time together, slept together. His feelings on the diviner had come to overlap with a lot of things but he could say none of them were negative. [break][break]
He looked over at Charani, the first time since he’d sat down avoiding his gaze. His eyebrows were furrowed as he frowned at the blonde, clearly thinking hard on something. He felt the waver in his words and looked ready to move into something that would make Charani feel better. A subject change, a hug, anything. “I’m not leaving like that again.” He reiterated softly. “I don’t want you to feel like that again.”

“Maybe somewhere in the back of my mind perhaps. A lingering doubt that you wouldn’t want to be friends with me anymore because of it.” The witch had years of experience with Aiden now. How openly he talked about disliking his rich grandparents. Hating all the formal Richie rich parties and things he had grow up with that Aiden didn’t. Why wouldn’t he assume that Aiden disliked that part of him too?
“Instead. How about this. You can ease your guilt by granting me one request. One thing you can’t say no too.” He said, looking at Aiden in the eyes. His face devoid of emotion and watching like a hawk. There was something he was planning that was for sure.
“It was kind of dumb. I mean we are way over the age for sharing a bed during sleepovers and you still didn’t have a clue.” He smirked at the idea. Sure maybe he played it up innocently at the time but the way he hung off Aiden while they cuddled in bed. It was so obvious it physically hurt him how dense the boy had been. Willfully ignorant perhaps.
“I know.” He hummed as Aiden prophesied that he wouldn’t leave again. He couldn’t guarantee that with a crystal ball like a diviner... not that even that was one hundred percent either. ”I think we just need time. You especially. This is a lot. I don’t regret anything we did together but I also don’t want you to force yourself into something because of it either.”

“I don’t think I’d ever want to stop being friends with you. Over anything.” Aiden replied firmly, despite his past actions and lack of communication. He’d tried to put a friendship on pause and that was hard when you needed the other person to agree to it too. He just wanted to reassure Charani, much like how Charani always comforted him. The ginger took pause, surprised by Charani’s change in mood for a moment before steeling his own resolve as well. “Anything.” He promised, leaning closer to give the blonde a nod. It was dangerous to promise something like that, but he trusted Charani. He relaxed after a moment, settling back down and shrugging. “I like it when we cuddle.” He said defensively. “Dunno what people do at sleepovers anyway.” He admitted. He’d never really been invited to one. Probably because he was too rowdy as a kid. [break][break]
“I’m ok with that…” he said before tensing up slightly again. “I-I’m not!” the redhead protested. “I- the date thing- the kissing- last night- I don’t regret any of that.” Aiden said flushing as he looked at his lap. “Just because we were having a weird day doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy what happened either.” Clearly. After all, he’d been plagued by weird nightmares of Charani in even more compromising situations this in comparison was tame. “I was worried you’d think that because of what happened, or these dreams you’d just think that I… I was forcing myself to behave this way or like you when I’m not.” That had certainly been a fear and while guilt had motivated his conviction it was still only a part of it. [break][break]
Maybe he wasn’t ready to express it or maybe he needed more time to clearly craft just exactly how he wanted to express himself, but he couldn’t say with a clear conscious that that person last night- that snake with no worries and no burdens- wasn’t him in some way. Clearly, he held that affection and clearly it was stronger than just something platonic, but that wasn’t because his guilt was forcing him to feel anything.

“I don’t know what boys usually do but my sisters usually just talked about boys and played games.” The witch didnt have many people he got along with enough to call them friends in his... rich sphere at least. Especially not growing up. His sisters always cling better that those people than he did.
“Okay. Then this is my request. That we have now established you can’t say no too.” He said, looking at Aiden with a wicked smirk. He looked downright villainous even with how quickly he had taken advantage of the situation to meet a goal. Something Aiden would not have probably allowed normally.
“Your search for your father. You’re going to allow me to help you. That means in all aspects of it too. Searching for him. Eliminating him. And whatever comes after. Everything.” He squeezed the other boys hand somewhat hard. Partially for his own comfort. Partially to get the other boy to continue to look at him. He was very quick to take advantage of this. The rich lifestyle and upbringing showing their colors as he quickly took advantage of an asset like a businessman would.
“I’m glad. And just a little ego boost that I don’t want you to get carried away with... you were... let’s just say bigger than I was expecting and I’m not mad about it.” He stuck his tongue out at Aiden and winked at the same time. He did have something going for him at least if not for a lack of experience. So there is that. Poor Kimmy. ”Okay. I think I’ll let you take the lead. However you feel... if you want to just be friends or if you want to be more... I’ll wait for you to decide. And when you decide how you feel either just tell me hey dude let’s be bro’s again... eew but also don’t say it like that... or do something romantic or something if you want to be more than friends. Or something like that? Okay? Okay.” He was rambling a lot. He wasn’t sure how this would all play out but he hoped it would be good. He wouldn’t mind a continuation of their friendship but deep down, and by deep I mean like a single spec of dirt below, he hoped it would be the later.

“I couldn’t tell you either honestly.” Aiden said back and he slowly swiveled his head back to Charani. He would’ve thought rich people sleepovers would’ve been things like traveling to exotic places together or having really big blow out parties you saw in magazines. He had absolutely destroyed his chances of that ever happening to him after giving another socialite a broken nose, and you know the whole, bastard of a disgraced politician thing. His personal reputation was someplace in hell, while the Emerson’s held on by brutal shows of force from Marjorie herself who had accepted Aiden quickly enough to serve her purposes. Aiden nodded intently waiting for the request, anticipation building and the slight nerves giving him a bit of a tremble. [break][break]
In an instant, Aiden’ is racked by a mix of emotions that just crash into his head as he processed. Though swiftly enough, the redhead blood runs cold and his big green eyes sudden narrow, fury flickering behind in the glint of the light. His mouth pulled back into a snarl as he sputtered something coherent enough that wasn’t just and angry ‘WHY?!’. “What are you talking about?!” he asked, his voice substantially louder than it had been before as emotions rose. “What do you know-?? Does Marjorie have something to do with this?” If Aiden were a cat, his hackles would be raised, and his hair would be bristling wildly. His mind is running on overdrive and he tried to figure out how exactly this could’ve happened. Darting eyes are forced back to Charani as he helplessly searched his face for an answer. He’d just agreed to let Charani help him despite having tried his hardest to keep this between himself and his grandparents. Fuck.[break][break]
The boy eventually deflated, sulking as Charani complimented him. Even angry, it still made him a little pink. This would come back to haunt him tonight, and he’d be unable to sleep again. He averted his eyes at the wink, trying to set aside his anger at his family. “You make my chest feel full.” He mumbled back, slowly relaxing yet still brooding over the situation he was now in. He pulled his knees into his chest and hid his face in them as Charani continued, not wanting to interrupt. He perked up at the mention of a romantic gesture eager to follow a lead. He was clueless when it came to these kinds of things, but at the very least he knew Charani deserved more than a ‘by the way I like you now’. That was, again Aiden, obvious from the bruises on each other’s skin. He turned his head towards Charani once more. “And if there were to be…something romantic..is- is there something you’d absolutely hate?” You know other than dying at the hands of his disgraced Father.

“Aiden I’ve known you for years. You think I wouldn’t know... or at least couldn’t figure out that you were hiding something from me?” The witch knew Aiden better than anyone outside the family. If anyone was to figure out what he was planning it would be him. Besides he has certain... advantages that most do not..
“No. Or at least she doesn’t know I know. You’d be surprised what people think when they don’t know someone is listening.” He said, looking at Aiden with a small smile on his face. “Right Aiden?” Of course he really only read very surface level information most of the time. Anything deeper was sure to alert someone of his mental intrusion.
“I know you want him dead. Mostly through a combination of divination and spying with telepathy. They why I don’t know.” He didn’t say that this was because he was choosing not to learn why. He could probably uncover it with divination magic if he really wanted too. He wanted Aiden to tell him though. It was a trust thing.
“Hehe good. I mean I’m glad.” He mad the boys hear feel full. Full of what? Well he just assumed it was a good feeling. It could easily just be full of... anxiety. A feeling he was honestly feeling probably a lot too. For other reasons. Or the same reasons. Or both. ”Nope. As long as it came from your heart there isn’t anything I would hate. Except your monstrosity you call cooking. Not that.” Not the ramen macaroni please, anything but that. He’d even get matching outfits of Aidens own hideous choosing. Something totally unmatched and ugly as hell. Jean suits. Anything. But also not Jean suits. “And no Jean suits.”

Aiden frowned, his lips forming a tight line before he answered. “I kind of hoped I could. You’re the last person I wanted to tell about this.” Especially after having the blonde visit him so much in the hospital. They were close and he knew Charani wouldn’t enjoy this idea of his. The boy had tricked him into joining him on his manhunt, and now there was no point in hiding the details from him. “You and my grandparents. Marjorie knows.” He clarified after a bit. He took pause as Charani revealed he hadn’t been recruited by his grandmother. Good. He felt a small grin begin to tug at the edges of his mouth. “Spying on my patron grandmother? And you never told me?” he asked with faux indignation. The facade is quickly broken as the boy prodded his own mind and he panicked a little. Immediately thoughts of his weird dreams starring Charani barreled to the surface before he interrupted them with a constant stream of CAKE CAKE CAKE CAKE CAKE. [break][break]
“Marjorie wants him dead for nearly destroying all political and economic ties. The reputation hasn’t been this polarized since the war, according to her.” He explained with a shrug. She hadn’t been too clear about the war and the specifics on what he’d done. He’d disappeared under alleged charges. Some dismissed, some still written into his wanted poster. Aiden didn’t really care. “I just want him dead because he dated my mom and then left her to die.” He admitted. His hate has quite easily been born out of grief. When his mom passed and he found out the details about his dad he’d gotten a little….bitter to put it mildly. “He’s keeping tabs on me, but I’m not sure how often. Probably ever since Marjorie debuted me.” He added as his hand reached towards his pouch of holding before realized he had stripped that and left it on the bedroom floor the night earlier. [break][break]
“I’m sorry…I didn’t want to worry you. Again.” It felt like that’s all he did really. But it wasn’t always his fault! “I- I didn’t want you to come so you’d be safe, and he wouldn’t like, put a hit on you or anything.” The redhead added. He supposed there was nothing he could do about it except stick even closer to Charani. Closer than he already did anyway. “How long have you known?” Something told him it was a long ish time. If it was anything like Charani developing romantic feelings and him not noticing said feelings, then yeah. Charani was really good at hiding things like this. Then again, the flirting thing he hadn’t meant to hide. So maybe he was just bad at observing and patrolling people. [break][break]
“C’mooon…that’s not a hint at all.” The redhead whined after a bit as he let out a long sigh. “My cooking is efficient. ” the boy corrected weakly. The ramen with macaroni was a desperation tactic to get in more than one meal a day. “That suit is my only nice outfit!” the boy added unable to keep himself from grinning at the very obvious lie. You wear a jean suit once to annoy your best friend and suddenly he’s asking for it to be burned. What a world.

“Hmm. Makes sense. That woman values image above all else. My family name is the only reason she even slightly approves of us getting close.” They both knew that. It was just convenient that he was someone that old crone would approve of. It wouldn’t have stopped them from trying regardless... at least it wouldn’t have stopped Charani.
“I’m always going to worry about you. It’s part of the package sorry no refunds” He would always worry about the other boy. Even if it was something he didn’t need to worry about. It was born from a need to see him happy. A fear of seeing his eyes glassy and skin ghostly pale. An intrusion into his thoughts that sometimes came without provocation or warning .
“A few months. About the same amount of time I’ve been watching that woman.” He didnt trust her. He never really did. He didn’t have much control or finesse with his divination magic before recently though. Within the last year, thanks to Ezra, he had grow so much in skill and control.
“Burn the outfit and send me a message with smoke Signals as you do.” He said this like he didn’t ‘accidentally’ get rid of that outfit within the last year. If he searched real hard in his closet he wouldn’t find it. That’s because it was at a second hand shop so where in mirrorlight city gathering dust as nobody in their right mind would buy it. ”Besides I’ve been working on ways to help you but all secret like. Like a ninja but gayer. Right now I’m trying to create a locator spell using divination magic to try and work around the usual warding spells people use to not be tracked.” People could hide their magical signs and such to avoid detection from the average tracking spell. Cloaking abilities had the same effect. Unless they were a diviner though they’d have a hard time hiding their aura though. That was something that would be harder to fake or hide without a seer. Which he was very sure Aidens dad was not. Necromancy was another option but that was spooky and he obviously didn’t know any necromancy.

Aiden nodded. Marjorie had it all planned out. He was sure there was something in place if he died, maybe Layla really would take over as heir in his stead. Then again, the woman had gone through pains to keep him alive but maybe that was just because she had already invested so much time and money into him. “She needs an heir, Charani. Like- my heir.” He said as he pointed at himself uncomfortably. “But if I die taking out my old man it’s a win-win. She kills her ungrateful son and gets rid of her bastard heir while she’s at it.” He added with a shrug. He’d been very aware of her expectations. There was no love for her blood. Not him anyway. He didn’t even think she saw him as his own person, but a shadow of his father. He wondered if she was this overbearing with him. Maybe that’s why he’d knocked up a girl form the hovel. [break][break]
“I guess that’s fair.” He agreed with a simple nod. And nice. Fair and nice. He’d been ungrateful, but he was happy someone other than his family cared for him. Maybe he should’ve branched out and made more friends in the coven. Then again, Charani was more than enough in his life right now. His schedule was still chock full until the summer. “I can’t believe you caught her like that.” Only a few months huh? Was the woman maybe getting antsy? His progress had been going quickly enough but he thought he would plateau soon. Then again, the training was erratic, probably to keep that from happening. [break][break]
“I don’t think confessing with smoke signals would be super romantic.” Probably also really long. He’d need a lot more pairs of ugly jeans suits to keep a fire raging long enough to send something like that. He settled into the couch relaxing a bit more. He felt a lot better overall. Things didn’t feel as awkward or brittle. “Like- your own spell?” Aiden asked perking up immediately before frowning again. “You- you don’t have to. I managed to buy something at the Tradehouse to help me find him…” he explained, glancing back at Charani’s bedroom before back at the diviner. “Though now that you mention it, I don’t exactly remember if it can bypass warding.” He’d just been excited to get some kind of tracker that wouldn’t need the use of a diviner. But then again, that had happened anyway. “Thank you though. That could help…a lot.”

“Well we didn’t exactly use protection so like if I wasn’t a boy she’d have probably gotten her wish hehe.” Then agai. If he was a girl they probably would have used protection because of that fact. Since they were both boys it hadn’t even crossed the minds of their counterparts. Why would it? For to boys to have a baby required lots of preparation and magic they simply didn’t possess.
“Which is just another reason I am coming along. Party healer slot filled. Or whatever they say in those games.” He wasnt really one for board game’s or really any games in general. Especially not role playing games. It was just a lot of work and effort he’d rather put into something else. Something more fun to him. Like Aiden.
“It’s easier than you’d think. Since there aren’t many diviner’s not many people have protected themselves from that kind of magic. Why would they need too.” He was one of maybe three known people with the affinity in the current age. Why protect yourself against three people when One could invest against other, much more popular, affinities like transfigurations or aethenians. A much more common threat.
“True but I’d love you forever if you never wore one of those again. Like ever.” He really hated it. They were just so unflattering and ugly as sin. The awful feel of denim didn’t help either. Besides a plain white shirt and a jacket over it, fake leather or maybe a letterman, was more than enough for Charani. At least when worn by Aiden. Or no shirt, no shirt was good too. ”Yes. There are a few of my own spells I’ve been thinking about and playing around with. It’s kind of fun. Plus a back up plan is always a must.” You never know when something would go wrong. Or if something would be changed or manip by magic. It was always best to have contingency plans in case something went wrong. A way out or a new path should the old one be bad. A few more minutes of conversation and Charani seemed like he wanted to be closer. He poured at his heavy everything was still and he just wanted to go back to cuddling in bed. “Okay. Enough taking, its time for movie cuddles. Mostly that last part. Please and thank you.”

Aiden blushed instantly as he was reminded how, frankly desperately the pair had been to get to the dirty. Of course, it would’ve been a bit of a scandal if Charani were a woman he’d knocked up but at least it would’ve been a pedigreed marriage, unlike his own birth and abandonment. Still, he didn’t really care for kids, and had little desire to have one of his own. Especially where there was still that low chance of surviving an encounter with his father or dying in the process at the hands of his own conniving grandmother. But those were thoughts for another time. “By then I’d just be worried you thought I was marrying you to save face.” [break][break]
He still felt uncomfortable with the idea of Charani walking into a gang hideout with him, but there was also the fact that Charani had been far more skilled at magic than him. He still considered it to be the case. “Does that make me the tank then?” he asked as Charani trialed off. He managed a small laugh. He’d grow used to it eventually. He’d never really thought about the number of diviners around, only that he came into contact with them a lot. Charani and his uncle being the main ones. “I guess. I’ve not looked into security like that but it makes sense.” [break][break]
Aiden felt rather relaxed, probably as a result of getting some things off his chest and getting a definitive on Charani’s feelings towards him and his guilt towards Charani. He pouted at the blonde as the boy continued to shit talk his jean suits. His only nice piece of clothing. “You wouldn’t love me if I dressed in dapper jean suits? The shame….” Aiden bemoaned, not entirely committed to the piece anymore but definitely enough to tease his friend about it. He smiled once more before saying, “Well, for what it’s worth, thank you. I appreciate the help.” He tugged at Charani’s hand trying to bring him closer so he could hug him. That had been a definite trend. It’d been so long since he’d been able to do that. His parallel had taken advantage of it for him. “You pick the movie. I’ll just get comfy.” He added
