“Mmm warm.” There was a warmth of presence and body as he laid in his bed. It would take a few minutes before the memories of a false life mixed into reality. Or maybe the context would be lost but the result would stay. It’s not to clear how this all works. All he knows is that a warm body wearing very little in terms of clothes was pressed up against him. He knew that his body ached and his lower back was on fire.
There was a strange taste in his mouth and a towel from the previous night thrown on the floor next to the two. It was all crusty and gross from the exercise the two had been taking part in. Eww boys. The rain had since stopped in the hours since they’d come here. It was morning now. All night theyd spent together.
The blonde haired boy was back to his former self. His body much more taught and less soft than before. Still softer than aiden emerson but that was because he was much more lax with training since he started healer training. He would snuggling up to the warm body like a dream. Not yet ready to face the reality of everything that had happened.
For at least another few precious moments he would live in this warmth and joy. Before the inevitable come to Jesus moment they’d have to have. The feelings and actions they’d taken under the power of some spell coming forward. An attraction the redhead could at the very least no longer wholeheartedly deny was there. The evidence was right there on the floor. In a gross towel now less. Or on the gross towel to be precise.

He didn’t want to get up. He absolutely did not want to get up. It was warm, the storm from the night before had long since passed. He was comfortable, fitted perfectly against the person next to him, arms wrapped around the blonde diviner protectively. It’s not hard to remember the events of the night before, not when he was still with Charani. He didn’t have to open his eyes to know. There was no one else he would ever deign to do this with. This wasn’t a dream though. This was real. He wanted to pretend it wasn’t. This…reality he was back in was way more complicated than a street thief and a cultist getting along together. This reality had so many more burdens weighing him down, more anxieties and insecurities ripping through him in his dreams. He wanted to pretend to be asleep because the alternative was to be conscious and contemplate the different ways he could get out of this situation. He couldn’t, of course. He had promised he’d never do that again. [break][break]
Aiden was aware of the mental link present. He felt it; that tether that pulled their thoughts together. He was aware it was there, and knew that sooner rather than later, his incessant thoughts and fears would jostle the mental link and Charani would know he was awake. Maybe he could already tell? There’s a definite shift in mood as the redhead lay in bed, desperately wanting to fall back asleep. He wanted to fall back into that mirrored life where all that mattered was what he could steal for dinner and when one handsome cultist would come back to visit him. Because in this life, it wasn’t just him and Charani anymore. There were so many others he wanted to keep this from and wouldn’t be able too. Not anymore. [break][break]
And what was this anyway? He would refuse to say, or even think it now. His lips clenched so tightly he wished they would meld together so he’d never have to speak another word. But then there’s the tether, a thing he’d come to like for making it so easy to talk with Charani. That infernal tether that dropped the guard he so desperately wanted back up now. Unconsciously, his grip tightened as he went over the events in his head. There’d been nothing there that wasn’t willing. There’d been nothing there to spoil it either. Just himself, responding honestly to a cute boy’s feelings. He had…several thoughts on the matter but it wasn’t easy to come forward with it. He didn’t think he should after what he’d done. Charani had said it himself things would never go back to the way they used to be, and they could only hope to rebuild what he’d ruined. Now this. ‘I don’t want to get up.’ He said to himself, though it quietly slipped through his barriers and through the mental link, half lidded eyes staring at the window on the wall. Not now, not again, not this. This, if he wasn’t careful, ran the risk of pushing Charani even further away than last time, and he didn’t trust himself to be competent enough to keep that from happening.

"I just came here to the party for the drugs Not here to make a friend or fall in love"
“I don’t want to get up.” That was the only thing that slipped into his head. That’s a good sign. He seemed to be okay at the very least. Aiden hadn’t combust spontaneously nor had he bolted through the zipperoo in his room. He still clung and cuddled with the blonde. A large amount of happiness oozed out of his side of the mental link. Finally something good happened this year.
His brain finally caught up with the memories of the last two or so days. Very vivid and graphic details of Aidens body he hadn’t known before. He’d only imagined in dreams and nightmares. To be fair to Aiden he hadn’t exaggerated his... assessment much given his now first hand experience with the boys body as a whole. He was pleasantly surprised.
“Another hour please.” The blonde haired boy just wanted to be in this moment for as long as possible. They’d have to talk about this later. He knew in the back of his mind the conversation as to their status would be uncomfortable and awkward. Especially given how much progress the physical of their relationship had gotten.
“What do you want for breakfast?” There was the unspoken assumption placed into the statement that he’d stay for that. He wasn’t forced to do that of course but he hoped the other boy would. He hoped that all of this meant what he wanted it to mean. A progression of a relationship he’d dreamed he’d get but very little hope for until now.
But if nothing else he got to feel the warmth of the fellow knight next to him. He would snuggle up as close as he could when Aiden tightened up his grip on the boy. He smelled the same as he remembered. He was still a fan of that scent. That warmth.

He’s grateful Charani lay still. He felt his somber expression would cause a misunderstanding again. It scared him this ledge he stood on so precariously with his friend. He didn’t want to hurt him again. Now there was no running away. No denying how he felt, but he didn’t want to voice it. That would make it real. The final nail in the coffin for him. But wouldn’t it be good? He’d be happy. They both would be, right? Aiden is quiet as Charani asked for more time, eyes closing again wanting to drift away. In agreement he tilted his head upwards to give the diviner a small kiss in the back of the head, silent agreement. And then the hesitation hits again and he’s tense once more, too aware of what he’s done before forcing himself to relax again. He’d done so much worse already. [break][break]
It’s a lighter sleep. Just on the edge of fully committing to a dream, and easily roused again when needed. Aiden blinked tiredly, remembering where he was. He felt himself grow warmer as he nuzzled himself into the crook of Charani’s neck for a moment to speak. His throat sore and his voice soft as dry lips began to try to help him find his voice. “Pan...pancakes is fine.” Something easy, simple. Something he could help with and help keep his mind busy too. “Maybe…some chocolate chips too…” he added vaguely remember the forgotten hot chocolate he’d made the night before. [break][break]
Even in the dim light, if Aiden angled his head just right, he could see dark spots on Charani’s skin, left there purposefully after a night of taunting. He remembered making those. That had seemed right. This didn’t. Though maybe that was just him overthinking again. He got the feeling Charani was ok with this. Happy even. He wanted to be happy with it too. He wondered if it was time to forgive himself for what he’d done. He wondered if it was ok to. Aiden closed his eyes again taking a deep breath as his thoughts grew darker by the minute. He focused on Charani, and how nice he was. How good he was to him. His presence would ground him even as his anxieties would try to pull him away. “How’re you feeling?” he asked moving his focus where it was meant to be, on the person right next to him. “I…um…I can go find some pain killers.” The witch murmured though not quite yet shifting away from the blonde. He was hesitant to get up. Mostly because he was hesitant to look at Charani’s eyes again.

“Chocolate chip pancakes it is... in another five minutes. R ten. Sometime today at the very least. Or tomorrow works? Yes tomorrow sounds good.” This was a joke obviously. There was no way they would t leave this bed before tomorrow after all. They had things to do. People to see. Bathrooms to use eventually. They could just keep cuddling in his room all day long could they? Nope. Haha unless?
He stretched his legs out, a small crack/popping sound from his knees as he tried to weasel his way around to face Aiden. By face Aiden of course he meant hide his face away into the other boys chest. Maximum coze achievement unlocked. He’d try to keep cuddled up for at least another few minutes. It was cold outside the blankets after all. Mostly because all he was wearing were a pair of underwear he wasn’t sure were his.
“Just sore. Don’t worry about it. I’ll have my familiar use some water healing to ease it when it’s pancake time.” The blonde haired boy sighed as he knew they’d have to part eventually. After all his could feel something growling between them. He wasn’t sure which stomach it was but it was pissed. Though it could easily have been both of theirs.
“Ugh okay fine. It’s up time I guess.” There was still a few second hesitation before he started to try and untangle their limbs so he could get out of bed. The covers eventually came off to expose how scantily clad they were and how unforgi the cold of his apartment was.
“Eew it’s so cold. Not a vibe.” Time to go to the kitchen and start cooking. At least Aiden wanted something simple that would take literal minutes to make a bunch of. His feet hit the cold floor and he stole the blanket to wrap around himself instead of putting on more clothes. Into the kitchen now.

Aiden nodded, letting out a sigh through his nose. “Tomorrow works.” He mumbled, completely ok with putting off everything indefinitely. Knocking out would definitely be the fastest but at some point...he’d need to pee. And also eat. Now that Charani had brought up breakfast his stomach was starting to wake up too. As Charani began to move around he loosened his grip on the boy, grumbling into his pillow as he tried very hard to stay asleep. It was going as well as expected. Instinctually he curled up around Charani, only to immediately turn away when the cocoon of warmth was broken. Aiden after all, had ended up with nothing on his person. Instead he tried to escape to the still covered corner of the bed, but it was cold. The pocket of warmth had been broken, he had to find it elsewhere. [break][break]
There was the instant thought of following Charani, who at this point had become a personal heater with how close they’d kept the past couple of days. He pushed down the thought. Inappropriate. Besides, if he summoned Teddy…he’d have to find his own source of heat. Unless he wanted to get chewed a new one by one ferocious puppy. He should’ve known he was dreaming the minute Teddy allowed himself to be touched. He watched Charani leave before immediately covering his face with his hands, flushing intensely. Gods, what had he done? [break][break]
‘Can we turn the heater on?’ he whined, though the heat was probably on fine. They were just naked and suffering the consequences. Unlike the diviner, Aiden dug for clothes, standing on a discarded pair of overalls from the night before to keep his soles from touching the floor. He began to layer it on, starting with the shirt from last night. Relatively clean, thankfully. Then he scrounged around for an old forgotten hoodie. Pulling it out the furniture he glanced it over remember the last time he’d seen this. He should’ve known he’d lent it to Charani. Finally, he managed to scrounge up some beat-up joggers that made him decent before shuffling along to find some house slippers and use the bathroom. And of course, simmer over the realization that his weird dream/nightmare scenario had accidentally come true not once, but multiple times. ‘Need any help?’ he asked tentatively as he finished up and shuffled his way out of the bathroom and towards the kitchen. He was never any help in the kitchen, but he liked to at least keep the blonde company. “Don’t push it.” He added, frowning as he remembered the boy liked to force himself to cook even when he wasn’t in top form.

“Now where are the chocolate chips? Hmm...” This is just the diviner talking to himself. They were in the second cupboard with the rest of the baking supplies of course. He should know that. Maybe it was still his brain being all jumbled or the tiredness in his bones fogging up his brain. Like he was still dreaming.
He had already started mixing ingredients when Aiden asked to turn the heat up. Sure why not. He usually had it set fairly low anyway so a little bump wouldn’t hurt. “Sure. It’s by the bathroom just bump it up.” It was still kind of cold even with the blankets wrapped around him like a robe. Mostly because he was wearing Aidens underwear and nothing else. Naw it had to be because of the cold. Haha.
“Some more warmth wouldn’t hurt if you really want to help.” The blonde haired boy hummed as the blanket kept slipping a bit every time he moved to cook. It was semi annoying but he didn’t want to face the briskness of his apartment without it. Maybe a little kiss would help warm him up. Or a hug. Either would be great..
“It’s okay. I’m okay. Just a little cooking is fine. Besides I’m almost done.” There was a spatula in his hand as he flipped the little pancakes onto the other side to cook the batter evenly. The chocolate smell filled up the apartment and it was nice.
“Oh you could set the table. Syrup is in the first cupboard. Thanks.” Time to make Aiden somewhat useful in the kitchen. At least he was cute. That was all Charani really needed. Plus given their performance over the last few days stamina is not a problem. Heck he might need to look into stamina enhancing spells himself to keep up. Oh well with another flip they were ready.

He waited around, shuffling through the home to pop the heat up. Any colder and they’d both catch colds at this rate. He noted the number, making a note to turn it back down later when they were comfortable again before turning back to make sure Charani didn’t do something like almost black out while making something again. He didn’t think they’d expended that much energy…right? He tilted his head curiously having adjusted the thermostat before realization hit like a sack of bricks. Oh, right. They had more or less become each other’s personal heaters. Aiden had adjusted easily to the change. He’d just forgotten about it. [break][break]
A scandalous flash of bruised skin on Charani’s shoulder moved Aiden to action as he stumbled over himself to put a hand on the blanket and pull it back up. He didn’t think he could handle seeing the entirety of his friend’s back. He kind of already knew what he’d see, but he wanted to avoid it for now. As Aiden awkwardly leaned onto the blonde, trying to move with him to keep the blanket up he murmured hurriedly, “Can I get you your sweater?” Being this close to Charani was already starting to make him sweat. The minor ease that he’d developed in a different life was gone replaced with fumbling awkwardness. He didn’t know where to put his hands or how to hold himself or even how close to be. He knew what he thought on instinct, but there was discomfort there in following through. ‘I can make you something next time.’ He added lightly. That was wishful thinking of course. Aiden didn’t have that kind of skill. [break][break]
He’s slow to move away, half intent on not seeing Charani naked ( even though he already had ) and half enjoying actually holding him again. The debate manifests as hesitation before he abruptly stuttered out, “Oh- um. Sure. Don’t trip on this.” And moved to do as he was told. He set down the syrup at the table, pulling out some silverware and a couple of napkins for each of them. He seemed to zone out a bit, falling back into his thoughts. Every so often his eyes would open wide and he’d turn bright red before calming down slightly, only for it to happen again. It was very clear his thoughts were on…other things at the moment.

“Yeah you probably should. Ooh go into my closet and grab the burrito sweater please and thank you.” This was... a sweater he’d know as soon as he saw it. It was so comfy and warm but like... so childlike at the same time. It looked like half of a onesie with a hood that had fake lettuce on it instead of ears. It was literally a taco print sweater, super warm and huge just like a burrito. Honestly Charani would swim in it but it was just do damn comfy.
Aiden said he’d cook for him some other time. This gave him mixed feelings. One it meant good things because he was saying they’d do this... or at least have a sleepover sometime in the future. Second he tasted Aidens cooking before. It was passable. It was edible. Like a teenage boy making dinner in his dorm.
“Are you threatening me?” The blonde haired boy said with a very serious look on his face towards Aiden as he turned off the stove and put the pancakes on a serving plate. It took a few seconds before he cracked into a smirk. He couldn’t hold that face for long.
“Okay it’s pancake time.” The ooey gooey goodness was placed in the table as the blanket boy wandered to the fridge to get drinks for the two. Probably milk given what they would be eating. The table was all set thanks to Aiden at least so they could dig in. His table was small just like his apartment so even eating on opposite ends they were within reaching distance.

Aiden perked up as Charani spoke, snapping out of his revisiting of their nights together. The chair clattered a bit with how quickly he stood up, putting all of his focus onto this specific task. Focus Aiden, focus. No more zeroing in on hickeys or bedhead cowlicks. Stop thinking about it! He glared at the apartment, moving forward with what he hoped was chaste determination. There was barely anything chaste about him anymore though. He pulled open the closet and didn’t even have to dig too hard through it. The burrito thing...well it stood out. He was fairly confident this was just an indoors thing. “Got it!” he called out as he carefully pulled it out of its spot before moving back to the kitchen. [break][break]
He froze as Charani turned serious for a moment trying to process if he had. “Never-” At this point he’d believe he had if the boy told him. He put the sweater over his shoulder in favor of helping with food and whatnot. As they finally settled down, Aiden almost forgot about the sweater, reaching to his fork to dig in before catching another slip of skin and dropping his barely grasped fork. “Wait- Your thing-!” he sputtered quickly as his hand reached over to hand off the sweater, eyes still locked onto the boys chest before immediate darting to Charani’s very pretty lampshade in his periphery. [break][break]
From there, Aiden’s eyes would move very deliberately to his pancakes and he would eat quietly. As quietly as a boy as ravenous as him could eat. They were hot after all, bits of melted chocolate cakes on the plate as it cooled. The redhead slathered his breakfast with syrup before digging into the hot meal. He felt himself drooling even more as he chewed happily. Taking the time to shovel about half of his food in before slowing down enough to take a breath. “It’s really good.” He assured the boy after he came up for air, chugging half of his glass of milk in the process. Not the most creative of food critiques, but Aiden tended to be pretty straightforward about his meals. If he didn’t like it he wouldn’t be as quiet as he had been. [break][break]
Still, all the sugary goodness of one unbalanced breakfast couldn’t really keep him distracted forever. Friends didn’t do what they’d done and still…be friends. At least not them. They weren’t that kind of friendship. He and Charani didn’t just do that on a whim. He started cutting bits of his pancake as he thought of a way to breach the subject. But tactfully. “Hey, you’re free right?” Terrible start. Fucking garbage, Aiden. “I- I uh…I don’t want to keep you if you had plans today.” Good sure, good. Polite. Hopefully didn’t give off the escape vibe.

“Ramen Macaroni and Cheese is definitely a threat.” This was nothing but straight facts. Just think of what that could do to his body? The love handles. The cholesterol. The fat content! A true travesty... he said as he fed Aiden literal sugar and starch. A little never hurt anyone right? Plus he wasn’t physically up to anything harder.
Aiden was very distracted it seemed. He went and got the sweater as asked but still held onto it. Charani wanted to see how long it would take him the realize he stills had it. The answer was a few seconds before he bites in. Well at least the fluster was cute.
“Thank you.” The blonde haired boy said as he totally ditched the blanket onto the chair for a minute exposing his full chest and the low riding underwear that were definitely not his. He pulled the sweater over his head with the hood still up for maximum coze. The sweater was long and very big, reaching nearly past the underwear and his sleeves rolled back so he could use his hands. True coze unlocked.
“Hehe good. I’m glad you like them.” The ooey gooey goodness was a bit much fir his taste. He liked sweets well enough but chocolate was not really his favorite sweet. Still with a little syrup he slowly ate the much less amount of pancakes he’d taken.
“Pfft. No I don’t have any plans for today.” He giggled a bit as Aiden stumbled over his words and phrasing. It was cute. He was cute. They’d already established that hadn’t they? Or at least he had in his mind. “So don’t worry.”

Aiden snorted into his meal, not really arguing with the diviner. Ramen and macaroni was quick and easy. He could prep it in 10 minutes and be chowing down. He didn't really have the ability or the interest in meal prepping for himself, scrounging around for snacks to hold him off or cold take out he could eat. He peaked away from his food as Charani covered up, getting his last glimpse of the boy shirtless and his own briefs before looking over him and in all his Burrito Boy glory. By far, a completely different vibe to the one just minutes ago. Still, it was cute. “You look like a gag, birthday card.” He noted his laugh pulling an easy grin from him before he dipped his head back down to continue picking at his food, still going through it but much slower than initially. [break][break]
The smell of slightly burnt chocolate and golden pancakes, for the moment, seemed to suppress all matter of dark thoughts in the redhead. He looked content, chewing quietly and looking over as his friend every once in a while. It wasn’t sneaky in the way he stole looks and snickered into his shoulders at Lettuce Head. [break][break]
He supposed there’s a good coincidence. The weekend the two of them hooked up was a weekend that they both just so happened to be free. Or well, he probably was. He wasn’t completely sure though. Regardless, he would blame the strange twist of magic and make it up somehow in other ways. Jia was a gracious employer, he probably understood if his assistant wasn’t around. Aiden left him other means of getting himself places for emergencies like this. And his grandmother- well, he didn’t really care about Marjorie all that much. She’d only intensified her training and her schooling ever since the fight with god. He wasn’t worried about heading back to the Emerson estate anytime soon. [break][break]
Aiden had already seen his grandparents too, and his mom, however briefly that had been. He had no issue with going back to his dorm, which he could very easily form here, or stay here. And at the moment, staying here seemed best. Not just because he wanted to avoid a repeat of last time, but because Charani seemed…ok with him for the moment. While the last time had been mostly, if not entirely his fault, he had felt bad at pressuring Charani to reveal something he hadn’t been ready to back then. Now it almost felt like the reverse except Charani was just happy to have him. “OH- yeah, just making sure.” If he counted today, and the two days beforehand, this had been the longest since The Incident that they’d been around each other. “I just- I didn’t want to impose.” As if he had imposed himself after willfully slipping under the sheets with him. Yeah, sure Aiden. Even so, the shame still burns at him as he frowned at the last quarter of his pancakes. “I don’t have any plans either…so I mean-” He didn’t want to talk about it, but he didn’t want to leave either. “Can we hang out for a while longer?” As friends? As lovers? Was the blonde really not mad at him? Breaching the point felt heavy. They were having a nice time.

The young man snapped his fingers in unison and gave Aiden the finger guns at the gag card comment. Totally stone faced. “Bueno.” Just think of how many of these kinds of jokes you’d get if you made him your boyfriend Aiden? Plus three meals a day and lots of snuggling. How can you say no? Anxiety shut up I’m doing the sales pitch.
Aiden had, for once, not finished his first helping before Charani. Though to be fair Charani always took a lot less than the other boy but still. He put his fork on his plate and stood up to put them in the sink as Aiden talked.
“Youre not imposing. Don’t ever worry about that. I love spending time with you.” The witch smiled as he started washing dishes just feet from Aiden. He was letting his... friend?... whatever they were just eat and relax. He seemed pleased with how things were going so far. Not pushing to hard for fear of things shattering again.
“Okay. What do you want to do then? We can watch a movie or talk or whatever.” The idea to leave his apartment was pretty much out of the question. Mostly you because he didn’t want to get dressed or go anywhere he’d have to walk long distances. Besides in the safety of the apartment maybe Aiden would feel bolder. Safer to express himself.

Despite himself, Aiden let out an even louder laugh as Charani’s serious expression remained unchanged despite…the whole ensemble. Aiden didn’t protest when the blonde picked up their dishes. He already knew the guy probably wouldn’t let him help with that either. It didn’t feel fair, but he also didn’t protest it that much. Letting Charani do basically whatever he wanted when he was around was his m.o. at this point. Nothing was changing that anytime soon. Best friends or lovers, that was one thing in the relationship that would always stay the same. [break][break]
He would follow the diviner with his eyes, flooding their mental connection with a happy sense of relief. “Me too.” He had thought after the disaster that was that night, Charani would’ve just wanted space to be alone and away from him. That hadn’t worked out well at all. In fact, it had fractured them even further apart. Then again. Aiden had been the main reason for that choosing to not think on the matter for months on end. It had felt wrong to think about. Then anyway. Now? Now it was weird. He knew things at least. Everything was a little clearer to him when it came to Charani’s importance to him. He just couldn’t- didn’t want to voice it. Partially because of Charani, partially because of other things. That wasn’t fair to him though. “I just, uh, thought that maybe I- you- might need space sometimes. I- I dunno.” He needed to try to explain himself before he said something that hurt by mistake. [break][break]
Despite current circumstances, Charani seemed fairly calm, happy even. He couldn’t blame him, but he also couldn’t accept things at normal. What was normal? The question cuts through uncertainties and Aiden perked up once more, his fidgeting hands freezing in place. ‘Snuggle.’ No, shut up. Aiden blinked pushing the thought away. Focus, he couldn’t just ignore the events of last night. “A movie and some take out?” he offered sheepishly trying to ignore how similar things were looking to last time they did this. But this was different. This time they’d gone on a date, and slept together and said a lot of dumb things to each other that admittedly was still cute and- “And maybe some talks?” They could just snuggle up and maybe hook up again. Felt weird not to talk about it as embarrassing as discussing it was. “I wanna hear your thoughts.” Ironic, considering they shared a telepathic link but you know.

"I just came here to the party for the drugs Not here to make a friend or fall in love"
The young man did the dishes fairly quickly... placing them in the tiny drying rack next to the sink before flicking his fingers free of the moisture from the running tap. On the plus side it was nice to hear Aiden vocalize that he enjoyed the time they always spend together. On the other side he already knew that dummy that’s why they spent so much time together. “Nope. I think that’d be probably the worst idea to be alone right now.” The witch sighed a bit at the thought. Being alone was not something he wanted right now. He felt like as soon as Aiden left this whole thing would be meaningless. Evaporating like water on a hot day and things would go back to how they were. Uncomfortable and tense. He didn’t like that.
“Okay. That sounds like a good start. We really do need to talk.” They have to stop tip toeing around this eventually. They could watch a move though. Maybe cuddle up on the couch. He was many things but he wasn’t deaf to the small slips of thought that Aiden accidentally slipped out. Snuggling indeed.
He picked up the blanket from the chair and made his way over to the couch. He would pat down the seat right next to him and open the blanket to invite the other boy over. Sit on the couch with a blanket please and thank you.
“So let’s talk.” About whatever he wanted to start talking about. There was the lingering questions in the back of their heads. What were they and what did this mean? How would this progress moving forward? How did Aiden survive off take out? These questions and more to be answered later in our program. Now a message from our sponsors.
