In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning[attr="class","gearcore"] Zephyr awoke from a mid-journey nap just a few minutes before the train arrived at Mirrorlight Metropolis' central station. Staying for long periods on the S.S. Black Widow and the inter-city rail lines had left the crafter accustomed and content with rigid beds that rattled and rocked. He untangles himself from his blanket with a stretch and a yawn, eyes struggling to open from the artificial lights beaming through the window. The towering buildings -- so different from Sundial's -- flew past.
Zephyr had seen plenty of cities and environments rushing past the train's windows, so this was hardly an unfamiliar sight. However, given the strict schedule the train company was on, it was rare for a mechanic such as him to have much time to explore. However, today was one of those rare days when he didn't have to be concerned about leaving right away. And, naturally, Juls had jumped to show him "all the best places".
Whatever that was supposed to mean...
He collected the half-built contraptions and unused parts he'd been tinkering with before he'd passed out, securely re-attached his prosthetics, and hastily tied back his hair to conceal how much of a mess it was before getting up and giving the train one last quick examination after the other passengers left. "Ey, I'm almost done. Where should I meet ya?" Zeph asked through one of his small Gates, its other half having been given to Julius before they'd departed so they could find each other.
