this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.
her heart was a secret garden and the walls are very high
The scent of flowers ebs into his senses before he actually spots the store. It washes into himself and settles deep within and Xuan is reminded of scerene mornings where he stood among flora and fauna as if the earth could wash away the shadows clinging and clawing at him.
The place had been suggested to him by a customer who had remarked the similarities between the flowers displayed in his shop and the one she had seen downtown while sipping at her ginger sugar tea. Since it was a day off and Xuan didn't have any 'dealings' as of late, the man finds himself searching the streets for this flower shop.
A push of the door and the aroma grows. His eyes scan over the varieties of blossoming flowers on display on either side of him nodding in appreciation over their quality. He then looks at the only other witch at the store, the owner of the quaint establishment, Taylan Karga.
He remembers the stiff and guarded soul next to the wonderful Dahlia Joshi, the flower seemingly produced from thin air that was gifted to someone’s monkey familiar. Wine he was told, was something the man enjoyed, so he had pulled out one of his own floral brews from the bottom of his store’s cellar.
“ You’re flowers are lovely. Do you ever get daily orders?” He asks, smiling as Xue Mei appears suddenly and goes on to take at a whiff of pure white Easter lilies.

the shop is not one that is particularly well-known, though that does not preclude quality, as customers often find. it does not even bear a name to it, at least not one that is known, no quaint little wooden sign to signal to people that 'hey! there's a flower shop here!'. he likes to think that the storefront speaks for itself, with its soft hues of fresh flowers a tasteful splash of colour against the sharp angles of the building, or the worn pale wood that marks its entrance.
it is simply the flower shop at the corner, and, as far as its owner can foresee, will remain as such.
and, this morning, it is just as it is every morning; taylan is a far cry from the stern and imposing figure from the gala, all sharp edged professionalism and ruthlessness. instead, there is a serenity to him as he moves among the flowers, adjusting pots and displays ever so slightly. there's a faint tinkle of a bell as the door opens, and his attention drifts upwards, landing on a vaguely familiar face.
within these walls, however, he can't quite bring himself to be as guarded as he might have been outside. "i grow them myself," he says, amiably, and then there's a pause as he moves out from behind some flowers. "sorry. not that great with names. you are?"

A mischievous smile tugged on Xuan's lips at the forgetfulness of the man before him. It was so nice to forget, to blur the memories you wanted to forget or thought so insignificant of. "Xuan." He reminded gently. "I run a little shop not too far away and it needs a little delicate touches."
Xuan traced a single finger along the elegant arch of the petal of a white lily. He admired the texture, almost like silk. His back bent down, taking a whiff of the flower and his smile grew softer. "They looked very well cared for." He could see why the customer had also liked the atmosphere of this place.
Could this also be a quiet haven designed to keep the demons in the dark at bay? The light that shone through the windows were warm, casting dancing shadows from the occasional breeze that slipped in.

“xuan, right.” he remembers now. “my apologies.” to be perfectly honest, his familiar does most of the remembering for him; the thought earns him the mental equivalent of a reproachful glare. he tries not to think of the possibility of having actual memory problems, and chalks it up to a simple lack of effort.
‘delicate touches’, had been the request, and taylan is immediately scanning the shop for potential arrangements. he knows the place like the back of his hand, and is quick to brush past xuan to point out a few recommendations. “something small and bright in a white vase, perhaps,” he suggests mildly, before his gaze trails back to where xuan is admiring the lilies, poised as though in thought. “of course, the lilies are always a good choice.”
the man is a mystery to taylan, as strangers are wont to be, and taylan wouldn’t do him any credit by guessing. “if i may ask, what kind of shop do you have?”

He keeps himself from laughing at the vague recognition of his name. What kind of world does he live in, buried beneath this quaint little flower shop? He could tell why the customer that had suggested this place had said the owner was odd for a Silvertongue.
Xuan glanced over at the suggested flowers, intrigued to what the man would come up with. He hums with appreciating before his attention is pulled back to the man. "It's a little café that sells little bits and bobs on the side. Potions, creams and whatnot. "
Finally standing up, Xuan reaches for a card on the inside of his pocket, 'The Herbal Haven' inscribed with a print of a leaf on the top. He offers it to the man. "You should come over sometime. I'll whip up something on the house."
